Overview & Reviews
The Mazda CX-7 is a compact crossover SUV with seating for five. Introduced for 2007, it was a refinement on the more utilitarian Tribute and like most newer Mazdas, it has an athletic demeanor. The CX-7 also incorporates most of the elements that continue to make crossovers so popular, including carlike handling, available all-wheel drive and a useful amount of cargo capacity.
Although the CX-7 is fun to drive as crossovers go, its base four-cylinder engine is memorable for its sluggish acceleration and subpar fuel economy. The available turbocharged four-cylinder solves the performance problem, but its fuel economy is even worse. With the efficient CX-5 waiting in the wings, the CX-7 was phased out after the 2012 model year.

Do not buy CX-7 AWD - 2009 Mazda CX-7
By Maavalous - June 13 - 8:43 pmDo not buy a Mazda CX-7 with AWD! Mazda has a serious vibration issue in all the Cx-7 AWD models. From 55 to 100 mph (yes, I tested to 100) the car has a vibration in the AWD system. I tried to get it repaired and they tried for a while and gave up. We found four examples and they all vibrated. They now consider the vibration "normal". They refused to replace mine because "it would not eliminate the problem". I tested almost all the CUVs out there... none vibrate like this! Beware! They are not going to fix this!!

Not Bad - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By offset_98 - June 9 - 6:53 pmIve had mine for 1 1/2 years now and have no complaints. Fuel mileage, as late as today is averaging 21.8 mpg in city/hwy with my wife driving it (18 when I drive it). It fits our daughter and everything that goes along with her perfectly. Im glad we popped for the GT but I wish Id spent a tad more for the nav system. Weve had our CX-7 in the rain and snow and the FWD was just fine. Traction control was great.

Excellent Mid Size Crossover - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Bacardi - May 30 - 9:43 amGas mileage is about 17. Although I would like it to be better, cant find another veh w/same features that can beat it. Safety features awesome and major reason I purchased this veh. AWD & braking abilities prevented an accident when I was cut off by large semi in a downpour! Great value of features for price. My 3 kids 14, 11, 9 all very comfortable in it and I can put all their sports gear in the back. Nav system is awesome with big screen. Love music system but wish I had gotten Sirius too. Love my car!

Loved it... and now hate it - 2008 Mazda CX-7
By Mark - May 8 - 9:03 amI started off loving the CX-7 and after having it for over a year I now hate it sadly. The engine makes excellent power, could easily make more, but is held back by the automatic trans. When in auto mode its ok but manual mode is an absolute joke. It takes so long to shift that without perfect timing it would never give optimal acceleration. A manual version, which they do have overseas, would really wake it up. Weve had some issues, biggest being the a/c failing. Ive seen others have the same a/c issues and dealerships seem to not be covering them under warranty. It eats tires. I could go on much more but dont have enough room to type all thats wrong. Wont buy a new Mazda again.

CX-7 Zooms - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Yo! - May 3 - 2:40 pmMinimal turbo lag, great handling. Styling and performance sold me. My wife uses this car for her daily drive to work, and this car has all the safety features needed. Only problem was with the service engine light coming on due to the gas cap which Mazda replaced.

Love this SUV - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By fochizel - April 28 - 12:30 pmGreat fun to drive, handles very well. I feel like I have a luxury SUV but only paid the price of an entry level SUV vehicle. I highly recommend this car! Mazda really did a bang up job with this vehicle.

ZoomZoom - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Marie - April 25 - 7:16 pmI bought my grand touring a little under a month ago. Its fully loaded and I love every bit of it. Its fun to drive and just as fun to be in the passenger seat playing with the stereo. I wish it came with an iPod adapter built in, but at least I can get one put in.

Love It - 2008 Mazda CX-7
By Jim - April 21 - 12:06 pmI couldnt be happier with this vehicle. Got a GT FWD loaded. The performance is awesome!! It is such a fun car to drive! A suggestion for some folks. Skip the technology package and put in an aftermarket radio like the Pioneer AVIC-Z2 or D3. Everything else with the car is wonderful!!!

Sold Benz for the CX-7 - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Steve - April 20 - 2:33 amWas tired of commuting and carting kids to sporting events in a car that had bad gas mileage and was always dirty. Selected the Mazda as an affordable, reliable and bad weather capable car that I wouldnt mind getting a bit dirty. Looked at the Tribeca and RDX. Tribeca drove like a mini van and the MDX was overpriced.
