Model Overview:

The Mazda CX-7 is a compact crossover SUV with seating for five. Introduced for 2007, it was a refinement on the more utilitarian Tribute and like most newer Mazdas, it has an athletic demeanor. The CX-7 also incorporates most of the elements that continue to make crossovers so popular, including carlike handling, available all-wheel drive and a useful amount of cargo capacity.

Although the CX-7 is fun to drive as crossovers go, its base four-cylinder engine is memorable for its sluggish acceleration and subpar fuel economy. The available turbocharged four-cylinder solves the performance problem, but its fuel economy is even worse. With the efficient CX-5 waiting in the wings, the CX-7 was phased out after the 2012 model year.

  • Never again-Mazda worst company ever - 2007 Mazda CX-7

Bought the CX7 used at 36k miles, had a car fax run with no previous damage. Now it has 54k miles and is sitting in the driveway because the engine AND turbo are shot. Although I have every maintenance record possible, warranty wont cover it because they claim it was not maintained but I have EVERY record! Car is only worth maybe $12k now and the damage is $9K. It has been inoperable for over 6 months and will stay that way as I have had to hire an attorney. Mazda North American you have made a terrible car. Stop screwing over consumers and deal with this recurring issue. Do not buy this car. Im warning each and every person reading this.

  • Gas Mileage review - 2007 Mazda CX-7

Replaced LF strut. Bad from factory; had to align at 2000 miles. Gas mileage was 29 to 31 first trip. Gas mileage was 19 second trip same route. Cant figure out what changed. Dealer of course does not know why.

  • Love the Zoom-Zoom. - 2007 Mazda CX-7

Takes corners like a sports car. Swallows stuff like a wagon. Accelerates like a sports sedan. Looks like nothing else on the road. If these are your priorities youll love it.

  • Bad idea just saying - 2010 Mazda CX-7
    By -

I bought one that has 80,000 sounds great right. Nope 6 months after having it turbo charger went out. Cost a pretty penny. Then because i drove on it to far the whole engine needed replaced. After 3 months in the shop i finally got my car back. Now when i drive the wheel alignment? sounds annoying. And makes werid jurk pulls while accelerating. I love this car but the problems that it comes with is disappointing. Wish you any luck with this car.

  • Excellent value! - 2010 Mazda CX-7

I looked at all the compact SUV in the price range, and before deciding on the CX-7, CRV and RAV4 were my other final candidates. Simply put, CX-7 just felt more expensive. It offeres a combination of style, refinement, and driving pleasure that is very rare in this class. In addition, where else can you find power and heated seats, rear view camera, auto A/C, moon roof, and bluetooth all for $25K. Yes, the CX-7 can use more room and power, but it never felt slow in my daily communite, and it is large enough for my family of 4 plus a 120LB dog. CX-7 looked stunning inside and out, and you probably wont find another same car in the same parking lot.

bought this car new late 08 for 21 otd. Used it for the first time in a snow storm in the sierras and was completely confident with its ability. Not one problem with anything. wife loves it, i never get to drive it. Turbo needs the boost increased a tad. wish it came with the long roof racks like the cx-9. I feel i got more than my moneys worth.

  • Luv My CX 7 - 2010 Mazda CX-7

I too have had my car a 1 1/2 months and I luv it! I get more compliments on the color (black cherry!) than anything else. Luv the "handsfree" device. I have the Sport i and it is equipped with Sirus radio, but I opt. not to use it; I use bluetooth audio (connected to my Blkberry) instead, and listen to my Pandora; saves about $12.0 bucks a month. One small draw is the leg room in the back...not good for a tall person.

  • Just Wonderful - 2007 Mazda CX-7

So far I have driven the suv from Tx to Ca it was a blast it is a well put together vehicle. Mazda I thank you for this vehicle, it is just great. I have every possible option and it is just great. Only thing it is missing is bluetooth for my cell phone and I have had that installed - now it is perfect.

  • MAZDA CX-7!! DONT BUY - 2007 Mazda CX-7
    By -

Well I bought my mazda cx-7 in May 2010 used, after my cooper broke. About 4 months since i bought it I started to hear a rattle sound when starting it, went to 3 machinics, they said they didnt hear it, and nothing was wrong. I knew somthing was, but what could i do. It broke down 150 miles away from our home, had it towed for $500, to cheyenne WY MAY 20th 2011. Time chain broke, timing censor broke the chain. That caused the pistons to hit the head, the rattle sound caused half the problems, they said. I have to pay $3,000 (military discount) to fix it, its been 2 almost 3 months & i still dont have my damn car. Everytime they call theres mre problems wrong, more money, more time

  • Fun Ride - 2007 Mazda CX-7
    By -

My wife and I had a second child which prompted us to start looking for something will more room like an SUV/CUV. We were trading in an Acura TL which is a fun car to drive. We were looking for something that was fun to drive like the TL but had more room. We started shopping around for an Acura RDX, Volvo XC90, Subaru Tribeca, and Nissan Murano. Then we found the CX-7. WOW! The test drive sold us on the spot. A fun ride with a model style that turns heads. It had great pickup and cornering. It had room for family use with a young sporty look and feel we were looking for. We ordered all of the extras except the Tech Package. The Bose system is crisp.
