Model Overview:

The Mazda CX-7 is a compact crossover SUV with seating for five. Introduced for 2007, it was a refinement on the more utilitarian Tribute and like most newer Mazdas, it has an athletic demeanor. The CX-7 also incorporates most of the elements that continue to make crossovers so popular, including carlike handling, available all-wheel drive and a useful amount of cargo capacity.

Although the CX-7 is fun to drive as crossovers go, its base four-cylinder engine is memorable for its sluggish acceleration and subpar fuel economy. The available turbocharged four-cylinder solves the performance problem, but its fuel economy is even worse. With the efficient CX-5 waiting in the wings, the CX-7 was phased out after the 2012 model year.

  • I am disappointed - 2010 Mazda CX-7

I bought 2 Mazda a 2009 CX-9 and a 2010 CX-7 the CX-9 had window problems all four windows a at different times the windows motor had to be replaced blind spot monitor has problems. The CX-7 also have window problems. We have owned Infinitys, Mitsubishi and Nissan cars and we never had any problems only change tires and oil and general maintenance our two Mazdas are like lemons. I would never ever buy a Mazda again. Both Mazda were bought brand new and even at this moment the driver side on the CX-9 window needs to be repaired again and my Mazda 7 the computer needs to be reprogrammed.

I had the privledge of selecting the type of car purchased by my employer. Crossovers were my choice of vehicle type, so the choice was between the Honda CR-V, Madza CX-7, or Nissan Murano price range. Test driving all three was fun, but I found that the Mazda had more sports car like characteristics than the others. I am a consultant, and often drive 400 mile trips in a given day, with meetings. The car is awesome for such trips. I arrive in comfort, refreshed, and ready to consult. Glad I picked the CX-7. Almost feel guilty sometimes, most people in my profession drive pickups. Enjoy my Zoom Zoom Zoom Mazda.

  • So far so good - 2009 Mazda CX-7

In 9 months I made put 25K km (17K in miles) and everything is perfect. Ive been to a few long trips, its such a fun to drive this car at these long trips - this is where its a its best. Gas mileage is a bit on the high side, especially at winter, but hey, you cant have everything. Im a bit worried reading all the bad reliability reviews for 2007 that I decided to write this one. So far, I love this car.

I was not really planning to buy a new car but couldnt resist the CX-7. Great design, great acceleration, great interior, nice navigation system. Just awesome.

  • Miserable Experience with the CX7 - 2007 Mazda CX-7

The CX7 is a blast to drive, when it is running at least, but the driving experience can blind you to a cheap interior, a technology package that is woefully deficient, and a general feeling that the vehicle is not built with the quality it should be. Most of all, after 4 CEL problems and multiple experiences when the vehicle simply does not run, I believe the CX7 has some real engineering deficiencies. Run, dont walk, away from the Mazda dealership and do not get sucked in by the initial driving enjoyment. You are likely to face real problems down the road.

  • Very Pleased - 2007 Mazda CX-7

Just had my GT Tech package CX7 delivered to me Friday night (10/6/06) and used it immediately on a 550 mile trip to Plainfield Mass. and back. Heres the skinny. Sound system...everything everyone said about it was correct. Rocks power...better than expected for the weight, nice acceleration. Tech package...must have, simple as that. Handling... by far the best thing about the car. I was doing about 75mph on serious switchbacks up in the mountains and I can honestly say that this car handles about as well as my old Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 did, and that was a high end sports car. This car is tight and a real joy to drive, especially in the right circumstances.

  • Best Crossover for your $ - 2010 Mazda CX-7

I have had my Mazda CX-7 for a month now. It has been nothing short of a great experience. The display of average and current fuel economy is helpful. What set it apart from others in its price range was the interior styling. I chose the black cloth, which has silver accents on the door panels. The trunk space is amazing, with enough room to pack essentials for a weekend getaway. It is comfortable on long drives and handles great on curves, hills, you name it. Spring for the iSport model over the iSV edition. The Bluetooth alone is worth it.

Sleek. Fast. Comfortable. I got a great price on this. CX-7 was not a vehicle I was looking for, but stumbled upon. It drives so smooth I end up over 80mph before I know it. At least, smoother than the Jeep Liberty I traded in for this. You cannot believe how much power the engine has until your drive it. Interior functionality is much better than the Liberty. Wish it had a better stereo (4 speakers, distorts when loud). Still waiting to see the real gas mileage. Massive dashboard and front window takes some getting used to.

  • MAZDA CX7 RIP OFF - 2007 Mazda CX-7

Purchased brand new by my wife (46 years old). 50 thousand miles. list of repairs ;3 batteries not covered, four sets of tires first set lasted 8000 miles, 2 different wheel bearings first one covered second one was 460.00, sub freezing weather will not disengage from park. Now the big one, labor day weekend motor blew on busy 2 lane country road my wife and son were almost killed trying to steer to the side of the road. Timing chain broke damaging the head 3200 dollars for repair. MAZDA NOT COVERING. They built a TURD and are not standing behind their product.
