Pros:
  • Highly versatile and roomy interior, stable handling, comfortable ride, good crash test scores standard airbags, ABS and stability control.
Cons:
  • Limited off-road ability, not as big inside as some of its competitors, no V6 option.

  • Sensible compact SUV choice - 2005 Honda CR-V

As best as I can remember, one editor from the Car & Driver once wrote about the 03 (or 04?) Honda Accord: "...the richness in quality and in contents embrace its owners so much that they dont care if the prestigious cars are parking next to them..." This phrase also applies to CR-V SE. Parking next to my brothers 03 Lexus RX300 and I dont care if people want to make a comparison. That is because I own 05 CR-V SE.

  • Always said I would never own a Honda - 2005 Honda CR-V

My wife and I were looking for something to take the dogs to the park in, mainly because I dont want them in my 06 Avalon or my 93 mustang. so we looked at many SUVs but we wanted something small with room and reliability. I got mine with 52,000 miles on it and you would think it was brand new. I have read 100s of reviews and the CR-V has great ones, Seems the 05 has issues with the Transmission, i have not experienced any I bought the 36,000 mile warranty so I am good till 98,000.

Id a very good experience with my CR-V. From the time of purchase up until this very day, it is funny to drive. I have a manual trany and that has increased the fun 5 times as much.

Well my third type of Honda, so far so good, 6cd changer, moon roof, lots of doggy room to boot, Will be taking this off road a lot. Dont know how it handles in snow yet, but love the comfortable ride it gives and the stereo sound.

More room inside than I thought it would have. Solid ride. Handles the road nice although pick up could be better - sometimes feels a bit sluggish. Mileage on sticker isnt true. Wish they had a hybrid model available.

Bought it for a week, drove in deep snow, it performed very well. I compared CRV to Toyota Rav4, Mazda Tribute, Chev Equinox, Mitsubish Outlander and Nissan Xterra. Factors I used to evaluate them are price, build quality, gas mileage, interior space, safty, resale value and features I like. After months of research and test drive, CRV is the winner. It has a good price with all disired features included, honda quality, best in class interior volume, very good gas mileage and best resale value. CRVs engine is only 160hp, but with 162 ft-lbs of torque at low rpm, acceleration should be enough for most drivers. To get most power out from engine, better select manual transmission.

  • A great little truck - 2005 Honda CR-V

Have had this truck since October 2004 and so far it has been great. I love it.

  • Love our CR-V - 2005 Honda CR-V

This is our first CR-V but fourth Honda and its proving to be just as reliable as the others (now 3 yrs old with 32000miles). Mileage is worse than our other Hondas but its a SUV. We have used all 72cu ft of cargo space more than we thought we would, cant imagine how we lived without a SUV before. For those complaining about road noise I suggest Goodyear Comfortreds, helps a lot with noise and its a good tire as well.

  • Love my SE CRV - 2005 Honda CR-V

I love everything about this vehicle: Leather heated seats, 5 speed Automatic, 160 hp, 6CD/Cassette, superb looks, good mileage, roomy interior, and Honda reliability. I also think it is one of the safest vehicles with a 5 stars crash ratings, Vehicle Stability Assist, ABS, EBD, side/curtain airbags, and 4WD. Low cost of ownership and excellent resale value ... What do you need more? Yes, I got it for 200$ below invoice. Shop around!

  • Like it so far - 2005 Honda CR-V

I am really enjoying my V so far, the ride is firm, and it handles well. Tire noise is noticable, but wind noise is minimal. Steering input is great, no play and enough road feel to let you know what the tires are doing. The V is very stable at speed, Im sometimes surprised at how fast Im moving. The engine, is smooth, quiet, and revs freely. Power is more than adequate for most situations. The transmission shifts readily, but does not hunt gears do to the grade logic system. This is an English made V, fit, finish, build quality seem very good. Materials are of a high quality. I did notice some minor orange peel in the paint (Black pearl). Avg MPG 26-27
