A Special Edition trim debuts that includes heated leather seats, heated mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, as well as body-color bumpers, side molding, door handles and hard spare tire cover.

Pros:
  • Highly versatile and roomy interior, stable handling, comfortable ride, good crash test scores standard airbags, ABS and stability control.
Cons:
  • Limited off-road ability, not as big inside as some of its competitors, no V6 option.

Great design. Mediocre power. Bought with 119,000 miles on it. A/C started acting up within a week of buying it but a complete emptying of the system fixed the problem. A/C is now ice cold at 135,000 miles. At about 132,000 I developed a problem with the right axle which will have to be replaced shortly as the shaking is getting worse.

I have owned my 2005 CR-V for about 4 1/2 years now and love it! It has about 120,000 miles on it now had 29,000 when I purchased it. No problems at all - all Ive done is change the oil on schedule (every 5000 miles), replace the tires and brakes once each, and regular maintenance items. Weve taken it on many 400+ mile trips and it provides a very comfortable and safe ride every time. Cargo room is great and comes in handy often! The interior plastic trim does gouge easily if youre not careful when loading large items, and the "H" on the steering wheel will discolor if wiped with a Clorox-type wipe (oops). Otherwise, its a fantastic vehicle that well have for years to come!

Excellent all around vehicle. Great around town, great on highway travel. Good gas mileage for all wheel drive.

Have owned my 2005 CR-V-SE since new and the only thing I ever have done to it is meticulous maintenance and a tensioner went bad while it was under warranty. Best car Ive ever owned. Have owned Camrys Maximas and previously American cars and would only buy Honda in the future. Best dealer I found for service is Coggin Honda in Orlando, FL.

  • 2 foot of snow and all is well - 2005 Honda CR-V

AWD 5spd made it over 2ft of snow with no issues (and a good set of tires). Towing up to 2000lbs has not been an issue. Car is used hard but serviced well 82000 miles and no problems.

I love my crv but I wish they had a better heating system in them for the winter months.. I find the higher I set my heater the more it seems to suck the gas gauge down ( fast) maybe I am setting it wrong or something. Also I wish they would put a bigger gas tank on them .. Other than that I love my crv

  • Off-Road Review - 2005 Honda CR-V

I photograph vehicles for a living and I drive all sorts of different types of vehicles. I have to say, this was the most fun I have ever had driving an SUV off road for my pictures. I took a Chevy Avalanche in the same area I took this Honda CR-V. I had a hard time getting the Chevy Avalanche to climb this solid 45° slope for pictures, however this little CR-V took the slope like it was NOTHING! Im a fan of large trucks and SUVs but guess what. Those larger trucks and SUVs are not going to make it through tight trails behind woods like this little fox can. Its more comfortable than it looks and has a lot more room than portrayed.

  • CR-V is there enough driver leg room??? - 2005 Honda CR-V

This car rides much like the Accord. I find myself thinking Im in my old Accord when driving this vehicle. Hanlding is tight and solid. Acceleration and visibility are good. Im still getting use to the positioning of the gear shift and the emergency break. I would like to see remote keyless entry standard on the LX model. I would also like Honda to put better quailty tires on all their vehicles. I tend not to get very many miles off their tires. Also the CR-V doesnt seem to like to go much over 80 miles/hr. I realize that SUVs and higher speeds are, to a certain degree, mutually exclusive. If you dont have to tow anything and your off-road demands are lite to nill - I recomend.

  • Excellent Car but still needs Improment - 2005 Honda CR-V

I found no problem with this vehicle except some minor things that bother me a little: -The battery drain so quick, after only half hour listen to the radio, I could not start the engine. -You can not let the two back windows down while driving, very noisy. -Ceiling vibration causes annoying noise. -Fuel economy is right at 23MPG. This may be is the NORM.

Happy with our purchase. Positives include safety features, solid build feel and handling, good ground clearance, roomy interior design. Ride is noiser, stiffer and bouncier than I realized in test drive. Mostly on highway getting 22-23 mpg. Passenger room and cargo room is ample. No deal breaking negatives, but Honda could make a good SUV great by addressing these problems: Reduce the road noise, shifter on dash is easily bumped into neutral reaching for radio, let the drivers seat slide back further, better cloth and interior color choice (black shows every bit of dirt). Stereo is not very good and hard to hear over road noise.
