  • Love it! - 2005 Honda CR-V

Got rid of our gas-guzzling minivan for this SUV. Its a pleasure to drive, has a ton of space and gets great mileage. One of the headlight low-beam bulbs blew at 200 miles while on vacation, but Augusta, Maine Honda dealership got it in quickly and took care of it ASAP.

  • 2005 CRV Rear Differential problems - 2005 Honda CR-V

Great car except at about 12,000 miles I started to have rear differential problems. When sharp turns are made at very low speed the rear end vibrates and shakes, and there is a clunking sound. Took it to the dealer. First they said i wasnt driving it enough. Then said there was a TSB saying that there was a lubrication problem with the clutches in the unit. Said they fixed it. Got worse the same day I drove home. I think its a defective differential, the screen filer inside is clogged, or oil needs to be changed, manual says 60,000 miles, probably should be changed once a year. Couldnt sell the car with that kind of problem. Still under warranty two years and 20,000 miles, back to Honda.

  • CRV 2005 SE - 2005 Honda CR-V

Honda needs to reduce the road noise for this vehicle. Switch location is in poor placement too, for example the heated seat button is located in a location under the steering wheel where it can not be seen withpout taking your eyes off the road. Windshield angle should be looked at, have had ours replaced twice and were told its very common on these. It is a good reliable vehicle with pretty good mileage. We average 25-27 mpg. It does need a larger gas tank, 15.8 gallons doesnt cut it. On longer trips where the speed limit is 70 or 75 expect to be stopping to fill up every 4 hours.

  • Excellent 5-speed auto on 2005 SE!! - 2005 Honda CR-V
    By -

My first test drive was one year ago with 2004 EX. It was a nightmare with 4- speed auto. I was not even considered anymore to buy a CR-V after that, but somehow salesman got me back to dealership. He remembered my negative comments about transmission. He enforced me to drive 2005 model, with same engine but new 5-speed automatic transmission. Car acceleration was changed, also functionality was much better. Car shifts smoothly and still keeping firmness. I bought the car and still happy with my SE!

  • Feels Solid and its Fun to Drive - 2005 Honda CR-V

Previous vehicle was a 95 Toyota Camry; traded up for a bigger and hopefully safer vehicle that wont also be a gas hog. This is deceptively big with a very well thought out interior. It rides firmly and solidly over the rough roads of central PA. So far I have no complaints whatsoever about it. I love sitting higher when I drive and I am impressed with all of the standard safety features. I also love the interior cargo space - Im an artist and this vehicle has plenty of room for me to haul around my paintings and other materials. Love it so far!

  • CR-Vs are tops - 2005 Honda CR-V

Weve had a 97, 01, & now a new 2005 CR-V EX AWD. We think the CR-V is one of the best cars anywhere for the money. The 2005 has more power, is safer (side air bags, stability assist in addition to 4WD), and is an all- around excellent vehicle for urban use & occasional trips. The cargo capacity is huge, mileage is great, no scheduled tune-ups for 100K miles, the engine is a marvel. When American companies start making vehicles of this quality, well buy an American car again.

I previously owned the 2000 CR-V SE, and this current 2005 model I find to be a very great improvement over the 2000 year model. The interior is much quieter. I find the horsepower jump of 17 more horses to have made a significant improvement in acceleration from dead stop and demand for acceleration on the road at speed. I like the outside shape and the color I chose (pewter) actually more of a grey color. I enjoy the airbags all around the vehicle (standard and side curtains) and the vehicle ride has a more solid feel than the 2000. The handling is very tight and responsive. All in all I actually love this vehicle.Only time will tell the true story. Have about 2000 miles.

I love the CRV. Gas mileage averages in town around 24 mpg, while on highway Ive gotten as high as 30 mpg. Large enough for soccer games and all that we need, yet small enough that maneuvering is similar to driving a small car. Reliability wise, its a Honda - enough said! Seats could be a little more comfortable, but for the price this is a great automobile. Love the Heating/AC controls, and cruise is conveniently on steering wheel. Perfect vehicle for everyday tasks, and also fits the bill for travel.

  • Nice suv - 2005 Honda CR-V

We enjoy our CRV. It has two major problems for us that may not bother anyone else. The center casino should be replace with a true console not a tray like it has now. Honda needs to quite the road noise. I did a lot of undercoating but I may sell the vehicle because of the road noise. I have had not one single problem otherwise.

This CR-V handles better than I expected. On I-10 in Az. at 75 MPH when 18 wheelers pass u dont even know it. Used on back dirt roads with no problem. Have taken it across the desert as well as into the mts. Equally at home.
