This Year's Model Updates:

All models get redesigned headlamps and front fascias along with antilock brakes, stability control, side airbags for front passengers, head curtain airbags for front and rear occupants, strengthened B-pillars (for better side-impact crash protection) and minor interior styling refinements. A five-speed automatic transmission replaces last year's four-speed unit. The EX receives new alloy wheels, and all models now wear 16-inch wheels. A Special Edition trim debuts that includes heated leather seats, heated mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, as well as body-color bumpers, side molding, door handles and hard spare tire cover.

Pros:
  • Highly versatile and roomy interior, stable handling, comfortable ride, good crash test scores standard airbags, ABS and stability control.
Cons:
  • Limited off-road ability, not as big inside as some of its competitors, no V6 option.

  • very good car and value - 2005 Honda CR-V

I liked this SUV a lot. The cons I found are: 1) there is no much space in the front seats (for a 5 11" person) my knees hit the steering wheel and I cant move it to avoid that and 2) it has too many blind spots when looking back or through the mirrors, we had to remove the headrests from the back to see better. The rest is very good. It does not burn a lot of gas, it is reasonable fast in highway, it is well equiped and it is reliable. In new england the 4wd help even when such a narrow tires.

  • Only an eight - 2005 Honda CR-V

I bought this CRV to replace a Chevrolet Tahoe, not much of a trade off. I liked the size of the the crv and the pep. I really got to appreciate the AWD, when we got caught in a Montana snow storm and kept on trucking when all the big 4 wheelers were having to chain there rigs up. We went right on through without a issue and about 22 mpg, try to tell my old Tahoe that.

  • Switched from a RAV to a CRV - 2005 Honda CR-V

I am happily surprised with all the standard equipment that comes with the SE. It does not compare to the RAV 4 in this regard. I also find the CRV to have much better pick up than the Toyota. I am glad I made the switch

  • Great choice for a small family - 2005 Honda CR-V

Good choice if you have one child and have occasionally visiting family. Gas mileage is decent in its class. Doesnt feel like I am driving a SUV .. handles like a car.

  • Nice SUV - 2005 Honda CR-V

I really love this SUV. Have had a few non-Honda like issues with this car. I had to have the strut lubed and now the rotors are warped big time. Another trip to the dealer. I guess I just expected more from Honda. But again, after coming from an Olds Alero, anything would be more reliable.

We bought this for the wife, but she soon wanted back into a mini-van. I became the driver. Since new, wind noise on the right side of the windshield has been problematic and the dealer cant fix it. Road noise is another problem that is a historical issue with this model. Economy is good, great miles between oil changes, and really kinda fun to drive. Front wheel torque can cause you problems if you get on it while turning and it is zippy for a 4 cyclinder. Seats are a little firm for the wife, but I like them that way.

  • Great Drive Train, Poor Interior Design - 2005 Honda CR-V
    By -

If you want a SUV with good performance and dependability, this is the one you should get. However, if you cares much about internal design, then get another one. This SUV has great engine/trans. and drives smoothly. I dont want to offend any Honda fans here, but the internal design needs quite a lot improvements. The Antenna is old- fashioned, Gas Cap Release is hard to reach, Gear Shift blocks the radio control, Rear Door opens to wrong direction (learned that since it was originally designed for Japanese market), Rear Wiper misses a large area, No Central Console, narrow and deep door pocket makes little things hard to retrieve, Arm Rest is uncomfortable, Fuel Tank is too small ...

  • Excellent automobile - 2005 Honda CR-V

This is definitely one of the best automobiles Ive ever owned. The smooth ride and roominess is such a pleasure for a small suv. Excellent gas mileage. You can even feel how solidly made it is just by shutting the door.

Just a perfect blend of everything - looks, power, efficiency, reliability! Just right! Everything is sensible.
