Sonata +/- - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
By etcindi - December 28 - 7:45 pmAt 18K miles. I love the look of the car, very high class. I love to drive the car, handles, accelerates, performs excellently. I get 27-28 miles to the gallon driving 50 miles to work. 10 miles @ 70 mph, 30 miles @ 60-65 mph and the rest in town. I came out of a Jeep Commander so all the things above are delightful. Cons; there is no lumber support so Ive had to buy a contraption to be more comfortable. I have my seat high which may be why I feel like the vents dont blow all the places I want them to. My ring has gouged the rubber off my steering wheel a couple of places. Road noise, and if anything, a bug or rain, hits the top of the car it sounds like a tin shed, and many rattles

Lost its luster... - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
By Pittsburgher - December 27 - 7:59 amI purchased this vehicle as a certified Pre-Owned product, and at first was VERY impressed with the comfort, power, and style of the car. One test drive and I was sold! The 2.0L turbo engine delivered oodles of acceleration, and would breathlessly accelerate to pass slow moving traffic. As time went on over the next 2 years of ownership, I still admired the style and power, but many small things started to bother me. The Latex-type paint on the steering wheel started to peel, the fabric on the seats started to bubble up and became loose, the A/C began ticking at low fan speeds, the shift paddles failed (and were replaced under warranty), the transmission began to shift roughly and was brought to the attention of my dealership 2 times. On both occasions, it was found to be "Operating as designed" even though it shuttered leaving their parking lot. The keyless entry was a nice touch, but the batteries in the fobs died early and often. Sometimes it would be very difficult to get the car to shift from P to D, and it would lurch forward quickly once you let off the brake. The gorgeous coupe-like styling was such a headache. I could never see around the blind-spots in front and back. Also, the car NEVER came close to EPA estimates for MPG. I averaged between 17-19 MPG on my daily commute - Pathetic for a car supposed to get 23 in the city and 25 combined. Add in 5 safety recalls over 2 years, and the decision to trade it away was simple.

Love this car!! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
By Michael B - November 30 - 5:20 pmComing off of a 4-year lease of a Saturn Ion, I was diligent about test driving many different cars (e.g., Maxima, Altima, CC, TSX, etc). For me it came down to the 2010 Acura TSX Tech and the 2011 Sonata Limited (w/ Navigation). For the value I could not beat the Sonata. The look and feel of the two cars were comparable, however I liked the few extra touches on the Sonata (like the push button ignition) and of course the price. Overall, I could not be more pleased with my purchase.

Trans Issue! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
By DAM - November 27 - 12:16 amWas on cloud 9 when driving home w/my new 2011 sonata, until 2 weeks and 680 miles later, on my birthday, to find myself calling roadside assistance 1 hr before having to leave for an event, when I placed my car in drive and it went into reverse! Thinking I was crazy, I tried 3x from park to drive with no luck. Called my husband to witness this, and 2 additional bystanders saw my car problem, car was in drive & went into reverse without foot on gas! They reset computer and do not know why this happened, but dealership and Hyundai want car to duplicate problem before they will take action! Do not feel safe and I am not the happy car owner I was 2 weeks ago! I will continue to take action!

A great car for the money - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
By Steve Williams - November 26 - 10:00 amMy limited is a great car, however the interior still feels a bit cheap. The plastic applique on the inside of the door is horrid, IMHO. Traded an 07 V6 Altima, so it truly isnt quick compared to the V-6. Cant believe the limited didnt have dual exhaust! I was shocked at no heated seats in SE. I know Im sounding picky, but this is my 38th car and Ive had all makes and models. The stereo (Dimension) sounds pretty good. The trunk in the Sonata is huge, yes 4 sets of golf clubs! Back seat is smallish due to slopped roof-line. Center stack very logical. Sunroof is smallish too. But mileage is great and the price cant be beat. Great car for $. Leather seats are mediocre.

Great Car - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
By Ron - November 26 - 10:00 amBought this car a few weeks ago with 8 miles on it. I got to say I was skeptical but after owning it I am glad we made this decision. It is a lot of car for the money. The quality is great and the car has a lot of options that are only available in cars costing thousands more. I would recommend this car to everyone. I dont hear any noises some of these people complain about. I think these people are complaining because they want to have the only one of these great cars on the road.

Awesome Car - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
By Teresa - November 22 - 1:33 amI just came out of a 2007 Honda Accord Lease which was a reliable car but had terrible road noise. I test drove the new Accord, Camry, Malibu and VW CC but when I saw what the Sonata, I fell in love and for the price you cant beat it. In my opinion this is one of the best looking car inside and out in this segment, it rides way better than my V6 Accord, smooth with plenty of power, its a pleasure driving it.

Dreadful in snow - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
By threeholepunch - November 21 - 9:40 pmThis vehicle has become a HUGE dissapointment ! I bought a 2011 Hyundai Sonata in April, and just drove it in snow yesterday. I wonder if their engineers forgot to test it in winter conditions? The traction control and all-weather tires were utterly useless, and it skidded around more than the Cavalier, Sunfire, Saab or Venture in the family. Dreadful. An embarrassment for them. I live in Michigan - its flat. Were not talking mountainous roads here. Its currently parked in a grocery store lot; and I had to get a ride home .... in a 20 year old GM product. Ill be shopping for snowtires tonight, but it seems like thats just a bandaid on woefully poor design. If you live in the northern or
