  • Best vehicle purchase I have made... - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I purchased my Sonata after dealing with a Pontiac G6 GTP and all its problems for 4.5 years. I had never considered purchasing a Hyundai as I always associated them with throw away type vehicles. My husband had encouraged me to read about the warranty and quality of the Hyundai brand as they have changed a lot in recent years. I was please to see that the Sonata was well equipped, stylish, and had a turbo!! I went to the dealership to test drive a turbo and FELL IN LOVE with this car!! I was stunned by the fit and finish of the car. The navigation, blue tooth, heated seats and push button start were awesome. We purchased a Pacific Blue with Tan interior. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive had this car for just over a week now and Im very impressed so far. my Buying experience was excellent and i would recommend the dealer to anyone. i drive approx 30k a year so i wanted something that would be economical reliable and comfortable. In my experience so far the fuel economy has been amazing, with mostly highway driving i returned 37 mpg with a 50-50 mix i returned 30mpg. the 100k warranty really sets my mind at ease. the car is decent to drive, and while its not a "drivers car" its better sorted than a lot of cars. there is excellent room inside and the transmission seems pretty solid. the standard features are awesome. for a midsized sedan it handles pretty well.

  • Near perfection for the $$$ - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I am surprised to read consumers comment about parts falling off, etc. My Sonata has 26,000 in 30 months and has given me absolutely no trouble at all except a battery replacement at 10K. Ride is a mixed bag: absolutely no wind noise at any speed. Low-rolling-resistance tires can produce pronounced road noise on certain pavements. However, coupled with six-speed transmission and efficient engine, the tires help me to get 24mpg city and up to 40mpg on the road. The car is laden with unexpected features, and the swoopy styling makes everything else in this price range look dowdy. I love the car!

  • Look no more! Here it is! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Never owned or even considered buying a Hyundai, now Im hooked! 3 mos later and 1500 mi, still love it! Considered the Accord Coupe, Mazda 6 (No Match!) Getting 33 MPG mixed driving. Peppy for a 4 cyl! Roomy interior. At 510", I can drive comfortably w/ a 510" person behind me. All control knobs are firm, easy to read & well positioned for the driver. Windows slightly tinted so interior looks darker on black seats. Have had people circle parking lots just to see it. Unmatched looks and value!

  • Impressive Automobile! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Ive had this car for about 2 weeks, and I really do love it so far. I got the Pacific Blue Pearl, it just blew my mind! Got the Popular Equip package plus the HomeLink Compass in the rear view mirror (awesome). I love the BlueTooth, XM and iPod jacks, unbelievable options to come standard! I usually take back roads to work (about 14 miles round trip) and the gas mileage is less than advertised for city driving, but the ride is so much smoother than my 05 Elantra. Im not totally sure why everyone is complaining about the road noise, its not the quietest car Ive ever been in, but it certainly wouldnt stop me from recommending this car to anyone!

  • A few minor fixes could be done - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

This car has everything except it could do with:a better horn, sealing the underbody where it meets the door sills-they squeak if you move them by hand but not while riding in the car- just seem too loose; use bigger screws on the underbody or bolts!

  • Quit knocking 4 cylinders! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I grew up in the muscle car era. My first car was a new 65 Pontiac GTO. I drove over a hundred MPH every day for decades (really did). I love speed! Those days are over. Americans need to reduce their consumption of oil. The new 4 cylinders have extreme kick, compared to the 6 cylinders of the 1960s! I wish Edmunds would stop complaining about the lack of a bigger engine for many car models. Now I want MPG and enough umph to get over the mountain or for passing. I was seriously surprised by this car.

  • 2500 miles into it.... - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Previously, I had written a review on 2/27/10. Not much has changed, except Ive had to replace my muffler which took almost a month to have done. The dealership was fast about things, however Hyundai had no extra ones in the states. Way to go guys!! I wasnt too pleased. Having owned several other Hyundais, (03 Sonata, 01 Elantra) and with other family members owning other models too with few or no problems, Im just choosing at this point to overlook it as a blip in my ownership experience and move on. But these forums are about honesty in ownership too... Gas mileage per the car is a bit optimistic but still not too bad. mid to high 20s in mixed driving and low 30s on hwy.

  • Some of the details could be better - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Purchased the new 2011 Sonata GLS with PEP2 to replace my 2006 Chevrolet Impala LT. Despite being a 4 cylinder, the Sonata is noticeably more responsive and faster than the 3.5 L V6 Impala. Gas mileage is outstanding, currently averaging 30 mpg. A 50% improvement over the Impala. Standard features on the Sonata are very impressive. The Sonatas exterior and interior styling are very modern, yet very functional. Would like to see Hyundai work a little harder on build quality. My Sonata has developed several rattles after only a couple of weeks. There are 2 rattles in particular that will definitely need to be addressed by the dealer at the first service.

  • Very nice car! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I have my Limited and have driven it about 300 miles. 1st impressions: Steering, after one day was no issue very controlled, very tight turning radius. Exterior style? Had a group of 4 guys gawking it while I did errands in a strip mall. Incidentally the pacific blue pearl is a great color, from far away its a dark navy blue, get close up, especially on a bright day and the metallic undertone looks great! Interior: comfortable slick sporty, leather and chrome works well. Drive, it DOESNT have that instant burst of power that a 6 gives you but it picks it up fast and moves great. Passing at any speed , no problem. Using the gate shift adds some torque,
