  • Shockingly TRUE! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Went to test a 2010 Genesis Coupe and walked away with a 2011 Sonata! Felt like spam in a can in the coupe. Felt like a rich-guy in the 11 Sonata. Im a working class, 47y.o. veteran and this is way more car than I could afford from anyone but Hyundai. Climbing out of a 01 4x4 Ranger, this is like a fighter plane! Fast, efficient, comfy and Gorgeous!Harbor Gray Metallica! Can a gruntask for more? At the end of the commute each day, cant walk away without looking back at it over and over again. This IS love! Heh! BTW, seats are great for my busted back! "Git ya some!" Hyundai! Hoo-AH!

Great price. Ive been a GM owner for years but couldnt pass up on the look, price and mileage of the new Sonata. However, after three months, the jury is still out. Love the mileage and the look but have already had it in the shop to replace a leaky radiator. There also is multiple rattles in the glove box and dashboard, hood, etc. And one rear speaker buzzes when heavy bass is on. Radio display also fades out when car sits in sun all day. Many good things about this car but not sure after three months and problems already. Stay tuned.

  • Fun, Fun, Fun - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

This car is a true beauty. Its quiet, powerful, elegant and full featured. This car is an unbelievable value. For around $25K, you get practically every luxury feature worth having. And to top that off it has the best fuel economy in its class. Im finding new reasons to jump in my car and just drive for no apparent reason other than the joy of it. Fun, fun and more fun!

  • Nice car, questionable quality - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Love the style, features, etc. Unfortunately, after owning for one week, the air bag light stayed on. After two weeks, I had transmission problems (hit a slight bump in the road and the car downshifted to 4th gear and it was stuck in 4th gear from that point on). Took it to the dealership and they said it needed a new transmission, car was in the shop for over a week as they had to get the transmission from Korea. In short, I had to have the car taken to the dealer for service for two items for a car that was less than 3 weeks old. Complained to Hyundai consumer affairs which was a waste of time. I can only hope that the reliability will be better going forward.

  • Worst Car Ever - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Purchasing this car is the worst decision we ever made. Upon taking delivery and driving the car home I noticed the steering is crooked to track the car straight. My husband asked if I wanted to take the car back and since I worked at a car dealership I said no and had faith Hyundai could fix it and to this day they still havent and cant give a reason why. The steering wheel/column also vibrates/rattles when going over bumps in the road. Theyve replaced the column and rack numerous times and it never fixes the problem. We contacted Hyundai corporate and they werent even interested in trying to do anything to make us happy customers. Do yourself a favor and dont waste your time or money.

  • Low Tire Pressure - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I bought this car in April of 2011. All through summer and now into the winter, the low tire pressure light has been coming on and I have to bring it into the dealership and have them record it since it is a leased car. They say its because of the weather getting cold but on 80 degree days, I dont believe that at all! Other than that, it is a great car, very big and spacious. Though, very EASY to hit curbs!

  • Look out Nissan, Honda, Toyota! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

Lotta car for the $$ I traded a 2005 Toyota Avalon, and this Hyundai has more features. From tire-pressure monitor to a warranty that trumps the competition, plus eye- catching styling, this car is a winner! This is the first car Ive owned (and Ive had 28) where people stop and ask me about it.

I never though of a Hyundai before, saying Hyundai years back was not attractive, there model were square and ugly but when you say 2011 Hyundai sonata you are talking about luxury, elegance, beautiful body, attractive car. no brand new Lexus or BMW has nothing better then my Hyundai. I have nothing to envy from them with my 2011 sonata. I love it! Pearl White is the best color for it shape.

  • Lovin it - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Ok, I have only owned mine for about a month, so I cant speak to reliability yet, but as for everything else, its near perfect. The car doesnt feel cheap at all. Its intelligently put together, its an ergonomic dream, the gas mileage is phenominal (Im averaging about 33.5 mpg and 510 miles to a tank), its quiet/rides smooth, the optional equipment upgrade(s) are excellent, and its a great value overall. What more could you want in a car? It is a little "knocky" sounding at low speeds though, I dont like that very much, but its a great highway car. Its ridiculous how quiet and comfortable this car is on the open road! The lumbar support is great. Buy this car!

  • Love the car, but bumper is flimsy - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

Mpg is great-36-39 on a trip, ride is comfortable, looks modern. Big drawback or design flaw -if you scrape the front bumper you dont have just a cosmetic problem. On drivers side we didnt have any collision or bump and it separated from the fender. We scraped the bumper on a curb on the passenger side while backing out and the entire bumper separated from the body of the car. It is held on by tiny flimsy tongue in groove construction like a snap together kids toy. We were going about 2 miles per hour. Were told that the bumper would have to be replaced. This is our second sonata (2007 which we loved) but this one is poorly constructed and bumper is poorly designed, too low on sides
