This Year's Model Updates:

For the 2006 Toyota Avalon, the availability of stability control has been expanded to include the XL and Touring trim levels. Keyless startup is now standard, rather than optional, on the Limited.

Pros:
  • Carefully constructed cabin worthy of the Lexus name, powerful and fuel-efficient V6 engine, serene ride quality, huge rear seat, numerous upscale amenities.
Cons:
  • Refined nature leaves little room for personality, rear seats do not fold.

This vehicle has the worst transmission I have even driven. It jerks every time it shifts and feels like a 10 year old Honda tranny. It is the only "Newer" vehicle that I noticed that still gear hunts. The seating position is horrible as well.Im 6 feet(not extremely tall but not too short either) and the Avalon has no head room, leg room and terrible gauge visibility (I actually get cramps on my legs). This kinda keeps me away from enjoying the other amentities that comes with the car.Lumbar could be more stiff.Lastly, this is a brand new car and it makes creeks and rattles from under the passenger seat. One of my lights went out already.Im getting a BMW next time.I loved my old 323i.

  • What a car - 2006 Toyota Avalon

I really wanted a car with very simple features and not too complicated to use. This is the car that I have been looking for. I have test drove Acura TL and Lexus ES330, but I have found Avalon to be the car that fits my taste. Simply you dont need to read manual to operate the vehicle and it is that simple to use.

  • Options I can do without - 2006 Toyota Avalon

I just picked up my 2006 Avalon limited last friday. Ive got a whopping 52 miles on it right now. It was the dealers show piece at the dealership and at the local mall during the recent Presidents holiday weekend. With 52 miles under my belt, all I can say is its quite, comfortable, powerful and good looking. Its loaded with everything, however this is where the rub comes in. I really could have done without the Laser cruise control, remote engine start, and blizzard white which would have saved me something around $1100 - $1400. So if your not an anxious buyer and can tune out the hype, order what you want and save.

  • THE BEST BUY FOR AUTOMOBILES IN 2006 - 2006 Toyota Avalon

I own and have owned cars that cost 2 and a half times as much as this Avalon and none provided a smooth ride as this one does. The comfort factor is amazing. Getting into this car with a winter overcoat on is no longer a feat nor is it constricting. The dashboard is extremely well lit and easy to read..The controls are easily accessible. This large car seems to go and go without having to stop to continually refuel. I am most pleased with this product. It has to be the Best Buy of 2006 for all of the amenities that were included that others seek extra dollars for.

  • Avalon is a bargain - 2006 Toyota Avalon

My Avalon has all the amenities of my Lexus 430 that I leased. This is not a "sexy" car but a workhorse. It has every gadget in town and 23MPG on highway and 19MPG city winter driving on regular gas.

One young co-worker said, "I was wondering who owned this beautiful car, i would like to own a car like this when i can afford it." Everywhere i drive people stop and stae. My wifes coworkers are all jealous. This car is such a joy to drive. My four-year-old granddaughter refuses to ride in any other car.

This is car is pure enjoyment, 269 hp great response esp through all gears, smooth ride and handling. Instrument display perfect and at night when lit up, it looks fantastic. Navigation system is a pleasure to use, several interesting features, very useful. Sound system great wouldnt hurt to have a six hundred amp ampiflier. Dynamic laser cruise control, oh yeah! responds real nice in traffic a must have option. Smart key something else, we like the way you can overide the trunk, but remember to lock out the rear arm rest. Moon roof, heated/ac seats, shade screen rear window, auto wipers, hid auto leveling lights, reclining rear seats, the doors when closing sounded solid, I enjoyed the sound over and over

  • 2006 Avalon Touring - 2006 Toyota Avalon

I bought this car almost three years ago. I decided to get the Touring because the handling felt better than the XLS. The color is silver and with the XLS the interior wood was orange. With the Touring, it was sliver. The seats are very comfortable and I get close to 30MPG on the highway.

  • SUV Alternative - 2006 Toyota Avalon

I helped my sister purchase a 2003 Avalon XLS which really impressed me. When my wife and I decided to upgrade our ride quality from a popular SUV, the Avalon was a logical choice. The Limited had comfort features we sought, in spades. The ride is exceptional, good gas mileage and neat appointments. The styling is really impressive and we are constantly getting positive comments from friends and strangers who love the blue color and tan leather interior. I honestly feel considering what you get in this car, power looks and reliability plus resale value, it is an excellent buy.

  • Classy, powerful, and very comfortable - 2006 Toyota Avalon

Drove the fun but very uncomfortable FJ Cruiser for 6 months which wrecked my back. Checked out BMW/Audi/Volvo - quality not there for the $$$. This car has power, a very quiet ride, handles well, power seats with lots of adjustments, an elegant interior, and its incredibly roomy inside. Mileage has been around 20, lower than advertised. Rear view mirror could be larger. Steering wheel should be power. No iPod/aux jack, but the stereo is really good. Keyless entry is addictive. Car should come standard with side molding!! I had mine installed right after purchasing it for around $200. The morning commute is now serene. Great value vs. Lexus, build quality is right there.
