Overview & Reviews
For the 2006 Toyota Avalon, the availability of stability control has been expanded to include the XL and Touring trim levels. Keyless startup is now standard, rather than optional, on the Limited.
- Carefully constructed cabin worthy of the Lexus name, powerful and fuel-efficient V6 engine, serene ride quality, huge rear seat, numerous upscale amenities.
- Refined nature leaves little room for personality, rear seats do not fold.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Robert W. Haisten - December 18 - 3:36 pm0-60 in 6 seconds. 28 MPG in town and 31+ on the road. However, mine came with an AM radio that goes to static every time I change directions. When it does work the sound is so muffeled you can barely hear it. Dealer replaced some radio parts -- same problem. I have to admit that the FM and CD features are fantastic. The car leaked transmission fluid all over my garage the day I carried it home. The dealer claimed to fix the problem the first try, it leaked all over the garage again. Finally, it was repaired on the second try (so far, anyway). When you drive 65 MPH, it feels like 45 or less, so be careful. Why isnt there a coin holder?

A pleasure to own and drive! - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By John A, - December 9 - 6:40 amDuring my long life (Im in 80s) Ive had Fords, Cadillacs, Mercedes and, more recently, Toyotas -- a Highlander and now an Avalon. Of all the cars, this one is the quietest, smoothest riding and easiest handling auto that I have ever owned. Have had no mechanical problems of any kind during its first 15,000 miles.

2006 Toyota Avalon Limited - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Richard K - December 8 - 5:56 amI just got the Limited in 10/06. Love driving it. It is quiet and very comfortable. We would love to have the one that has DLCC, but the dealer doesnt have one for 2006. The 07 is more expensive. Therfore we decided to take the 06. I was disappointed after learning that we can not add the DLCC even though we willing to pay for it.

5 Days and counting - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By ClayP - November 21 - 11:23 amGot my 06 XLS on 12/22 - Phantom Gray with Ivory Interior. Have just 350 miles on it. I put a metallic silver stripe on it at the crease that runs above the door handles. I like everything about it except: Unlike my 04 Maxima SL the sun visors have no extensions, nor is there a 2nd sun visor on each side so you can block the sun on both the front and side windows at the same time. Secondly, the engine seems louder that my Maxima - I expect that will quiet down as it wears in.

Totally pleased - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Chuck H - November 8 - 7:16 amI love this car! It is smooth, fast, and very quiet. I feel wrapped in comfort and luxury. Driving through hazardous conditions on I-80, the car was sure-footed. When I arrived at my destination I was relaxed and rested. It has amazing pick-up and go for a car its size. Back seat passengers are happy with the legroom and comfort provided by its ability to recline. The appearance of both the exterior and interior are well executed. I have had lots of compliments on both. If I had it to do over again, I would buy this car in a downtown minute!

Luxury for the little guy - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By James - October 17 - 8:30 pmThis is the first luxury car that I have owned and I am throughly pleased. I have ridden in other luxury cars. The Avalon is just as nice if not better. The only problem that I have had is a vibration at 65-70 mph. I had to take it to the dealer three times before they determined that at least one wheel was out of round. I have two new tires and two new wheels. There is still a very minute vibration but barely noticeable. There should not be any vibration. The average mpg should allow the driver to reset anytime and not just on fill up. It would be nice to illuminate the area around the car at night with the headlights and backup lights when unlocked with the key fob.

Avalon 2006 Limited - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Gregory - October 5 - 9:53 amPurchased the Limited today, very happy with design and features. It is a huge car, no comparison in inside space with Camry. And so quiet, I had to go outside to make sure the motor is running, you cant hear a thing inside. This car can do more than I can imagine so far. Limited rules!

If You Test Drive It..Youll Buy it! - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Mike Griffin - October 1 - 2:00 amI was looking for a family size sedan with enough room for 3 in the back seat for the long haul. (We have 3 kids). We came close to buying a Camry SE, but the center seat and leg room in the back was not enough. The Avalon is loaded with features you will only find in a $45,000 car. Youd be crazy to buy a Lexus, with the new Avalon available.

A Bentley couldnt make me more proud - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Lou - September 23 - 5:03 pmWe took possession of our Avalon LXS on 11/30/05. We have always owned Buicks but did not care for the exterior look of their new cars. We saw an 05 Avalon in a parking lot and both the exterior and interior blew us away and we knew this would be our next new car. We absolutely love this car and if we had any criticism it would be that the ride is not as smooth as my 1997 Buick Century.
