All models get redesigned headlamps and front fascias along with antilock brakes, stability control, side airbags for front passengers, head curtain airbags for front and rear occupants, strengthened B-pillars (for better side-impact crash protection) and minor interior styling refinements. A five-speed automatic transmission replaces last year's four-speed unit. The EX receives new alloy wheels, and all models now wear 16-inch wheels. A Special Edition trim debuts that includes heated leather seats, heated mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, as well as body-color bumpers, side molding, door handles and hard spare tire cover.

Pros:
  • Highly versatile and roomy interior, stable handling, comfortable ride, good crash test scores standard airbags, ABS and stability control.
Cons:
  • Limited off-road ability, not as big inside as some of its competitors, no V6 option.

Very pleasant drive. Exteriors shape is smooth and somewhat sporty. Gas mileage could be better, but not too expensive considering that it is a sport utility vehicle. The all-wheel- drive features have proven to be an asset during inclement weather.

  • Poor Fuel Economy - 2005 Honda CR-V

A good car almost a year old. Although the sticker indicated a fuel economy of 22/27 mpg, I have never been able to get better than 17/22 mpg -- very poor for a car this size with a 4 cylinder engine. My 2002 Lexus RX300 gets 19/25 mpg and it is a heavier car with a 6 cylinder engine. Have been generally please with the CR- V otherwise. When the rear seats are down, it has very large cargo space for a car this size -- bigger than my Lexus SUV

I bought this vehicle because I was too cramped in a regular car--causing medical problems from my long commute. Indeed it is a great balance between the added room and comfort and the lack of the need for a private oil well that comes with some SUVs! Nice exterior look, and a great, smooth drive. The interior is a bit plain and "trucky"-- some curvier lines in the dashboard and more luxurious cloth for the upholstery might solve this problem. I bought the AWD for added assurance in bad weather---drove very well on flooded roads I encountered just after purchase--need to wait til next year for snow. Despite the good mileage for an SUV, it could use a bigger gas tank.

I can truly say that this is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned! It drives nicely, is very quiet in the inside....and gives me lots of room to carry things -- which is helpful when you are an active teacher who likes to go to Home Depot. The fuel economy is a little less than I would like...but you take the good with the bad.

Two complaints with my CR-V, 1. The ride is a little rougher than expected. Second and most important there is a design flaw with the A/C. A rock damaged the A/C under and the entire unit had to be replaced. So with only 2000 miles on the car I had to replace the A/C, and since it was road damage it is not covered by the warranty & I had to pay for it.

  • 05 CRV. Its a honda!! - 2005 Honda CR-V

Somebody was really thinking at honda about this car. It has lots of little nifty features that work well. The EX package is just the way i wanted it and its built the way you would expect a honda to be. I can cram far more into it that i thought i was going to be able to, and it has pleanty of pep for a little 2.4 lt motor. Have had it over 9,000 feet and its not winded and it handles well in up to about a foot of snow. On the highway its smooth clear up to 90 and it holds the road more than anything else in its class. This little car has impresed me in the snow and ice. Solid feel but not bulky and it really digs into hilly corners. I see many on the road and i can see why.

  • Best SUV for the money - 2005 Honda CR-V

I love my new CRV. I sold my mustang GT so that I can drive my newborn son around with me. The babyseat never fit in the mustang, not to mention i had no trunk space whatsoever. The CRV has been a blessing for my family. We zoom all over town, while getting great gas mileage. I opted for the Blue LX version, and I put in leather interior (baby formula proof) and I ordered much cooler after market rims. My truck is very sporty looking now. I am very happy with my CRV.

Ive owned this vehicle for a little over five months and all i can say is that ive fallen in love with it..I prevously owned the 2000 crv and passed it on with 80,000 miles and never a problem to speak of...This 2005 model seems to being heading in the same direction...Just love everything about it except the rear middle seat safety strap with comes down from the rear ceiling near the back door. I feel its unsightly and awkwardly placed.

  • CRV Quality - 2005 Honda CR-V

This is my 2nd Honda, it has been good over all, but have concerns about the overall quality of Honda. 5000 miles, the driver front airbag sensor went. Dealer told me they have seen a lot on the 05 Odyssey with this problem. One of the trunk interial panels just never got install properly from the factory, has one corner popped out. I had a brand new Civic EX before, 2nd month I had the car, the bumper paint was peeling off. Otherwise Im happy with the CRV, good size trunk and fuel economy, long list of standard featurescomparing to Toyota RAV4

  • Not a bad SUV - 2005 Honda CR-V

We purchased an EX in November of 04. WE had decent snow traction the first winter but this week, BLAH. Scary. The tires Bridgestone Duelers are horrible. My wife loves it but I think the seats need more support and they move to much. OK gas mileage but we expected more from a 4cyl. Performance is ok. It is a safe car with all the airbags and ABS etc. We had it in dealer last month for an alignment, now the steering wheel is off and it still pulls to the right. The door panels are thin and it is kinda noisy. A safe vehicle and reliable but we {ok, ME} expected a quieter more comfortable SUV from Honda.
