  • 3.5 years and still happy - 2005 Honda CR-V

3 1/2 years and no buyers remorse! My CR-V has proven both an efficient and comfortable daily commuter as well as a versatile camping vehicle with decent offroad capability - which has been put to the test many times. I havent charged across raging rivers or rumbled up rocky slopes like in the commercials, but Ive sure as hell put the AWD to the test on muddy trails, sandy ground and rough terrain (never been stuck yet!). Ive obsessively tracked the mileage since I got my CR-V, getting a lifetime average of 24MPG in 50/50 mixed city/hwy driving. Ive gotten up to 31 MPG on long road trips. Not bad for an AWD SUV.

Numerous electrical problems. On slippery and snowy conditions, the AWD does not engage, and got stuck. The shifter also gets stuck frequently, and is awkward to operate. After spending more time in the shop than on the road, my battle with this thing finally came to an end during a snow storm. While doing only about 20 mph, the back end kicked out (again, AWD didnt engage) I lost control and went off the road into a tree. Thanks to the unibody frame and poor impact zones, I came out with a cracked head and some broken ribs. The only saving grace of the ordeal is that the stupid car was totalled.

  • Love this car! - 2005 Honda CR-V

We purchased our CRV because it was recommended for towing behind our motorhome. We love the gas mileage we get with it and it is just a simple, affordable car.

This is one fun car to drive. It handles well and we have found that the gas mileage is as promised. We love the appearance and convenience of the back door that works two ways. We are able to carry a lot in the back even without putting the back seats down. The heated seats are a bonus and we got this car fully loaded and really love it.

Have 60k miles and still going strong. Great mileage w/4WD - about 25mpg. This is my 3rd Honda and I am a believer in the quality/workmanship. Only had to use 4WD at work site and it worked great. It is the envy of my truck friends at $4/gal gas. I would highly recommend this car.

I honestly cant say enough good things about my CRV. It drives nicely, handles well, has nice features and is relatively good on gas mileage for an SUV. Good interior space - comfortably fits my Great Dane, Bulldog, cat carrier, and all my luggage without feeling squished and cramped. Reliability is phenomenal! I have over 125,000 miles on my car in just 3 years and havent had to do more than the scheduled oil changes and a brake repair earlier this year.

This car has been a blast for me so far. I really enjoy the way it handles, and its pick up, dispite its 4 cyclinder engine. Another feature I really like is the radio controls on the steering wheel. I highly recommends the CRV to anyone who is thinking of purchasing small SUV in the near future.

I recently purchased a 2005 SE version of the CRV and I love it. It is comfortable, fun to drive, and it gets great gas milege for an SUV. I had a 1999 CRV and I loved it, so when it came time to buy a new car I knew I had to have an upgraded version. I have not been disappointed. The added horsepower is wonderful and I love the leather interior on the SE version. The back seat is roomy even with a child seat and the back cargo area provide lots of storage. I recommend the CRV if you are looking for a practical, sporty, and fun to drive SUV.

  • CRV is Outstanding in Every Way - 2005 Honda CR-V

Traded in a 2003 Subaru Forester XS on a 2005 Honda CRV-EX. The Honda is quieter, smoother, handles better and has TONS more room - especially in the back seat. The Subaru Forester got better mileage, but not THAT much better. I have an hour-long commute each way, so a tape player (with CD changer) was a key feature so I can listen to books- on-tape. Many similar vehicles no longer offer a cassette deck! Can happily report that the CRV is also better in Maines snow and ice than the AWD Forester! This was a surprise to me, but the Real-Time Four-Wheel Drive, Traction Control and Stability System do their jobs with an invisible efficiency - the CRV is unstoppable in the slop!

  • my new crv special edition review - 2005 Honda CR-V

I just bought my CR-V Special Edition in June of 2005, its my 3rd Honda & so far so good, I love it. Its so much fun to drive, I like being up above the other cars on the road. We have alot of rain over here on the Big Island of Hawaii & the CR-V handles very well in rain & on curves. Its a very quiet vehicle, some times I can hardly tell its running. There is plenty of room in the back seat for tall passengers. Ant there is so much storage space, Now my dog & I go everywhere in it. Im glad I bought it instead of another car. Well gotta hit the road....
