This Year's Model Updates:

The BMW 3 Series sedan and wagon have been completely redesigned for 2006. Major highlights include new features, more powerful engines, a slightly larger interior and the incorporation of BMW's latest exterior styling elements. The 3 Series coupe and convertible are unchanged this year but will eventually move over to the new platform being used for the sedan and wagon; expect to see a new hardtop convertible for the 2008 model year.

Pros:
  • Still the standard when it comes to perfectly sorted vehicle dynamics, high-quality interior materials, wide range of configurations to suit any style, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Still costs more than most of its competitors, lacking in interior storage space.

  • An extension of the driver - 2006 BMW 3-Series
    By -

This car has soul and style, personality and performance, comfort and class. For someone like myself who loves to drive, its hard to imagine anything better unless you spend twice as much. When Im at the wheel and in the mood to have some fun, the car feels like an extension of myself. It is that good.

Great enginnering, great looks, the ultimate drive, perfect finnish. Poor user manuals. No manuals for Blue tooth or active voice command.

  • I love this car! - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I love this car. Im 64" tall and Im still comfortable in this car. Its fun to drive and gets all kinds of looks. As far as the quality, I think its second to none. My friend has a benz in the same price range and I think my seats and dash are done much nicer, and I have about 15 hp. more than he does. What else can I say I love this car!

  • Almost Perfect - 2006 BMW 3-Series

True to the hype, this car delivers. Ive had it for 10 months and put over 15,000 miles on it already. Overall, it exceeds my expectations for a sport sedan in terms of handling and driver excitability. The brakes are fantastic and a valuable asset in city traffic. New styling is not over the top like some in its class, and definitely not too conservative. It has exterior styling that is not turning vanilla like some of its competitors.

  • Good performer - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I had this car for a little over one year now with 12k miles. My car is a 330i with the sport package and heated seats - only the essentials as the other options are too expensive for what they really are. The most noticable features are of course the handling and overall performance - hard to beat by the competition. The interior is very sparse and doesnt have the feel of luxury. Standard seats are vinyl: easy to maintain and durable but hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Id rather have fabric standard seats like in Europe. Run flat tires are very harsh and expensive to replace with only one choice. The rear tires have been on backorder for weeks now - totally unacceptable.

  • The new 3- series the E90 - 2006 BMW 3-Series
    By -

The new 3-series is a technological marvel. The styling may be a little questionable, but the car is supurb. Underneath the new sheet metal is a whole new driving dimension that enables the E90 to surpass the e46. The new inline six revs smoothly-as any BMW should. The six speed manual seems to be a little faster, and that shows in the faster 0-60 times. The new 3.0 liter six helps out as well, with 255 horses.

  • 2006 BMW 3 series still a winner - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I just purchased a 2006 BMW 3 series. The car has everything but the navigation feature. The car rides like it is on rails. When I go 100 MPH on a bumpy intersate my body is unable to up and down as fast as the 3 series so it is like a rollor coster. My 2003 G35 floated like a 1980 cadilac. The 5.1 stereo is awsome. I must say the stereo EQ was in the N shape which made the sound not that good. I change the EQ to a V setting and put the base and treble setting @ 7 and it rocks. I do not know which to listen to.. the tight whine of the 3 inline 6 going though the geers or the 5.1 stereo. The stereo ROCKS if you set it up right. It has base, treble and then an EQ setting.

  • First 400 miles E90 - 2006 BMW 3-Series

E90 with manual, PP, SP, Active Steering, Sunshades, Sat Radio. Wow, this car is amazing. With the sport package, the handling is superb, predictable and sticks like glue. Surprisingly, the highway ride is still very smooth and forgiving, then again I prefer a firmer ride in general. The interior is very efficient and almost on par with Audi. The technology is stunning from the Active Steering to the Bluetooth capability to the DSC/DTC. At times, the car makes me into a better driver than I am at the limit. It exudes confidence in all aspects of driving, braking, cornering and accelerating. I truly can have a sports car experience with the convenience of a family sedan.

  • Perfect 10.. well almost - 2006 BMW 3-Series

Man my dad was mad when I bought this one but I was ecstatic as was everybody else who got the first ride in this beauty. I got nlack with black leather, navigation system, premium package, Satellite radio so this has a lot of bells and whistles. Well I am shallow. I have had this car for 13 months now and boy have I been happy. Just sitting in it makes me smile. Driving it gives me a rush like I am on top of the world.

  • Great car! - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I ordered this car back in November of 2005 after seeing one cruise by me on the highway. Received delivery on Dec 14th, 2005 with less than 8 miles on the car. Driving this car is such a pleasure in every way. 42 months, and 52,000 miles later and the car still feels almost as tight as the day I picked it up from the dealer. No squeaks, no rattles, nothing loose, nothing has stopped working. Nothing has discolored. Just an extremely well built car. Even the headlights are still crystal clear, unlike Mercedes headlights after a year or two. My only regret was ordering the beige interior instead of something darker since even the floor carpets are beige.
