This Year's Model Updates:

The BMW 3 Series sedan and wagon have been completely redesigned for 2006. Major highlights include new features, more powerful engines, a slightly larger interior and the incorporation of BMW's latest exterior styling elements. The 3 Series coupe and convertible are unchanged this year but will eventually move over to the new platform being used for the sedan and wagon; expect to see a new hardtop convertible for the 2008 model year.

Pros:
  • Still the standard when it comes to perfectly sorted vehicle dynamics, high-quality interior materials, wide range of configurations to suit any style, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Still costs more than most of its competitors, lacking in interior storage space.

  • Ultimate Driving Machine - 2006 BMW 3-Series

Ive had an Acura, Lexus, Mercedes and Cadillac. My 325xi is absolutely the best car Ive owned. Driving it is wonderful. Those who complain about the stiff ride need to understand this is a German performance car not your dads Buick! The run flat tires are a problem. I replaced 2 after 14,000 miles and there is some comfort in having a spare tire on long trips when BMW dealers are hard to find. Handles great on snow and ice in the midwest. Once you go BMW, youll never leave.

This is my 2nd one, I own a 1987 325is which I love. I test drove Infinity, Acura and Lexus before I bought, definately the 215 horses in the 325i must be thoroughbreds. It just feels much more responsive than 215 HP would suggest. Driving experience is unbeatable. It feels like some invisible magnetic force actually keeps it glued to the road. And up to now I got 28.5 MPG combined city/hwy. I got the brushed aluminum trim and I love the way it looks. Gives a sporty yet distinguished look. Many seemed to dislike the cup holders, I actually love them, this is the first car that I experienced that placing a drink in the cupholder has 0 inteference with driving and/or ac/audio controls

This is my 4th Bimmer and the best performer of the bunch. I have the 6-speed with Sport package. I removed the Pirelli run flats at 25M miles. Was ready to trade for a Lexus. The car was actually dangerous to drive with the Pirellis. With Michelin A/S Sports it drives and rides like a BMW should. It is also now great in MN snow.

  • A happy ownership experience - 2006 BMW 3-Series

After 2 yrs and 40k miles, Ill have to say that Ive been happy with my BMW. A problem early on with some of the fuel system parts, now at 40k peeling paint on a trim strip (will be covered by warranty), and a drivers winow that sometimes goes into "trouble" mode (only goes down about 2 inches until reset) are the only troubles Ive had. Yes, the OEM tires were HORRIBLE, but the car is wonderful after replacing them. The car handles like youve always heard BMWs do, the engine is sweet. Complaints? Few. Cupholders are annoying, as is the "freeze warning" that chimes whenever the temp drops below 37 degrees. Paint quality is not great. But I LOVE the car!

  • BMW DEALER SHOULD DO MORE RESEARCH - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I have the same problem like other Bmw 325xi owner. The Run-flat tires. I had similar problems like everyone with the tires, but I replaced with dealer-recommended Continental which are run-flat as well. The dealer charged me around 1095 dollars to replaced the Bridgestone tires. The dealer said normally charge $75.00 per tire. Run flat tire is cost more money. $110.00 per dollars. Labor cost is too much. Bmw should pay for tires and labor. Bmw put the wrong tires on this car. Please do more research. The performance of this car is very good. The price is cost more than other car.

  • Nice Sporty Car - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I just got my new bimmer 4 days ago and I love it. I just need to find the most comfortable driving position setting. First time I drove it, I suffered back pain (not when driving my M-Benz C230 Sedan). Feels like Ive found my best seating/seat setup this morning.

  • Too Much Fun - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I purchased my 330ci in November 2006. It drives like a dream and because I am a rather short individual, the seats fit better and are more comfortable than any other vehicle I have ever owned. BMW must have listened because my car does not have run flat tires and I have a very quiet ride. I didnt think I would enjoy the convertible as much as I have. It is so easy to use that I take the top down every opportunity I get. I also have the interface for wireless blue tooth that provides total hands free driving. I am so spoiled, I will never have another car without it. Likewise, the heated seats are such a pleasure! Yes, I love my car.

This is my second 3. There seems to be some similarities with the run flat issues, My dealer had to replace them at 8500 miles. Having no spare is a bit concerning but have not heard of anyone getting stranded due to this. The new design and controls are excellent. Peformance is far superior than the previous 3. Car rides extremely smooth. You really need to experience the ride; it is worth the extra $$. BMW really is the Ultimate Driving Machine. this does come with a price and if you need a budget car then this is not for you but if you want to drive as you have never driven before then buy the bimmer. It will not disappoint.

  • The Baby Beemer - 2006 BMW 3-Series

This car is incredible. I mean when you buy it you think its great. But when you get to use to it and drive it for a while the BMW experience just keeps getting better - from engine performance all the way down to comfort and looks. Its got all you need.

  • Fun To Drive - 2006 BMW 3-Series
    By -

This is a very fun car to drive, excellent performance speed and handling. Very good sound system. When you drive this car you feel like you dont want to drive anything else. The ride was very rough when I first got it but when I got new tires and rims on the car it got so much smoother. It is worth every dollar.
