Overview & Reviews
The BMW 3 Series sedan and wagon have been completely redesigned for 2006. Major highlights include new features, more powerful engines, a slightly larger interior and the incorporation of BMW's latest exterior styling elements. The 3 Series coupe and convertible are unchanged this year but will eventually move over to the new platform being used for the sedan and wagon; expect to see a new hardtop convertible for the 2008 model year.
- Still the standard when it comes to perfectly sorted vehicle dynamics, high-quality interior materials, wide range of configurations to suit any style, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
- Still costs more than most of its competitors, lacking in interior storage space.

2nd BMW misses a little - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By Airborne87 - October 28 - 4:02 pmVery beautiful looking both inside and out. Excellent body lines and performance under the hood. This car has the horses when needed and handles extremely well. This is a feel good car.

The ultimate driving machine - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By John - October 27 - 11:05 pmApparently its not just a marketing slogan. This is my first 3 series and Im certain it wont be my last. 2 and 1/2 years and 26,000 miles and Im still completely impressed with it. Its not just the smooth engine or the fantastic handling or how it communicates so perfectly with the driver. Its the total package in a The Sum is SO much more than the parts kind of way. In terms of being a "drivers" car I think it is car lengths ahead of much of its competition.

The best 3-series yet! - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By Gabe P. - October 17 - 9:26 amThis car is a beauty to drive, be in, and look at. It hugs the road, has virtually no lean in tight curves, accelerates well and is ohhh so smooth and quiet. The inline 6 is peppy, and the handling is what you would expect from BMW. The interior well appointed (with the premium and winter packages) and the finish is flawless. Try the automatic transmission if you are uncomfortable with manual: the difference in 0 - 60 is there but is not that significant. All in all this is a fun car to drive to work, on weekends, or whenever you just feel like tainkg a spin.

The Ultimate Unseen Cost Nightmare - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By I Want My Lexus Back - September 28 - 9:39 pmSell your BMW before the warranty runs out. Dont bother to buy a new BMW with run flat tires unless they give you tires for as long as you own the car. The front tires cost about $425.00 and the rear $375.00. I have had to replace 9 tires in the 3 years I have owned the car. They dont last and the flat tire sensor comes on all the time. If you take it to a BMW dealership they will not give you the car back unless you replace the tire. There is no fixing it. Im not even sure if there was anything wrong with the tire. They never let me see it. The passenger air bag sensor will cost you $1500.00. I have no idea what the LCD display for the stereo will cost, but it has completely faded.

Performance machine, not speed machine - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By Mikeebear - September 24 - 10:03 pmThis car performs wonderfully. Tight precise steering and cutting corners at least is to be expected. The automatic transmission makes it pretty slow. It is probably quick enough for most average drivers and daily commutes, but if youre looking for a thrill, this car is not thrilling. Inside, it is spacious and pretty. The sound system could use a big upgrade, but its OK. If you put the top up/down while people are in the back, it hits them in the head. Gas mileage is very poor for this type of car. The sport mode is good. Theres a big aftermarket for performance parts. I would recommend this car if youre an average driver looking for a little fun when you want, but not for thril-seekers.

Love it! - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By Beemer - September 12 - 8:06 pmI just bought a used 325i, 6 speed manual and it is great. Very quick in 1st, 2nd and 3rd, exterior styling is great and feels very tight. This hugs the road and is a great performer. The 6 speed helps with gas mileage and average around 30-32 on the highway and 25-27 in town. Surprisingly roomy on the inside for a tall guy.

2006 BMW 325i - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By Wade - September 10 - 2:06 pmIn having new performance cars for years, this the best car Ive had thus far. Absolutely no regrets in buying it! The 5 series is more car than I even wanted, a little big for me and pricier for things I wouldnt use anyway now, but I noticed that in 06 the new 325 has features built in that the 5 and 7 series have (some optional though) so when it comes to luxury and performance and good residual value, I think theyre an excellent choice, plus they handle like nothing Ive ever had before. I just picked one with the options I wanted vs paying extra for options Id never use anyway in a car so for me its perfect.

Lots to smile about with the 330i - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By JohnV - September 4 - 2:10 amPicked up the car 12/31/05. Since then, I have put on ~3,900 miles. Some in snow, some in rain and now quite a bit in sunshine... all of it has been a pure joy to experience. From interior/exterior fit & finish, to overall esthetics & overall performance, this car is HARD to beat, if NOT impossible. Oh, did I mention it gets great fuel mileage & Im talking a 21.1 avg since I picked it up (I DONT drive slowly either ;-) If youre in the market for an upscale sport sedan and have ~$45k to spend, look no further!

2006 325i - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By dmitry - September 1 - 5:59 pmI bought my 2006, new body, 325i about 3 month ago, love the way it looks, although rims could have been bigger than 16 inches. Interior is not so impressive, handles awesome and highway passing power is great, but, lacks off line power. Fuel economy so far averages at 24 mpg while using 89 octane every other 2 full tanks using 87 octane. Furthermore, as of 3 months, a tire pressure sensor, air bag sensor, driver seat belt, radio and shift knob has been replaced, boy am I glad for warranty and maintenance plan. Although I would not want another vehicle, I think BMW could have done better.

Spectacular BMW 3 Series - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By NL - August 27 - 11:05 amThis is a car for people that enjoy driving. I have had the car for over 2 years - it still exceeds my expectations. By far the best car I have owned. Great handling, brakes and power. The engine revs like a turbine, it is silky smooth all the way to the limit, torque is constant. Keeping the rpm above 3500 will delight the most performance minded driver (manual transmission recommended). And since this was designed for sportiness, it will do this all day long. The car seems to glide over the road, over rough surfaces and in turns. Inside the car is amazingly quiet and extremely comfortable (possibly a little low for some to climb out of). It is the right size for just about everything
