This Year's Model Updates:

The BMW 3 Series sedan and wagon have been completely redesigned for 2006. Major highlights include new features, more powerful engines, a slightly larger interior and the incorporation of BMW's latest exterior styling elements. The 3 Series coupe and convertible are unchanged this year but will eventually move over to the new platform being used for the sedan and wagon; expect to see a new hardtop convertible for the 2008 model year.

Pros:
  • Still the standard when it comes to perfectly sorted vehicle dynamics, high-quality interior materials, wide range of configurations to suit any style, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Still costs more than most of its competitors, lacking in interior storage space.

  • 2006 330i - Beautiful Car - 2006 BMW 3-Series

Car is the complete package. Sport & Premium Package. Love the wheels, looks and performance. Transmission is smooth. I owned a 1995 325i for 9 years and it was the best car I ever owned. This vehicle is very nice as well. Run flats arent cheap. $510.00 per tire at the dealership. Radio rocks, car handles great, looks outstanding and my wife steels it from me 3-4 days per week. We fight over this car. Lots of fun! Black on Black. Highly recommend this vehicle. After these run flats wear out may just switch to normal tires and a can of fix a flat. Outside run flats car is outstanding!

This is my first BMW, have always owned practical japanese cars. Mine is basically stripped, only added the bun warmers. Checked out all of the competition first, this car wins (even though Im not crazy about the new styling), hands down. The ride in the BMW is firm, sporty as it should be, but unlike the Acura, you do not feel every pimple in the road. Ive driven a manual transmission for 20 years, and Im still getting used to this one. The more I drive it, the more I like it. The sound on the base stereo is wonderful. I paid $1,000 to "upgrade" the stereo on my previous car, and it doesnt even come close to the sound quality of this one. The start button is a hoot!

  • Awesome Car - 2006 BMW 3-Series

This car is awesome. It has enough space to accommodate 2 adults in the front and 2 kids and a baby carseat in the back, along with 3 duffel bags, one giant bag, and 2 carry-on bags in the trunk. Going on I-5, we got from San Jose to Los Angeles on 1 tank of gas!! Best sedan ever.

  • Very Pleased - 2006 BMW 3-Series

So far so good. Just bought car in August. Very happy so far. Many features I never had before, all work great. Always bought GM cars. This car is much better. Fun car to drive. Rides great, solid. Much better paint finish. Nice looking. Feel special in it. Inside, rich expensive look. Enjoy just taking it for a ride with the top down, and radio playing. Looks speak for itself. Eye catching. Pleasant and quiet ride. Plenty of power, and holds the road very well. Brakes work great, you dont lean foward when stopping. Car stays level.

The car is just awesome. It drives like a champ. The Auto DS mode always shifts right. You gotta have the sport and premium package. The bluetooth is really useful. Its very simple... it connects with you!

  • 3 months, three times in the shop - 2006 BMW 3-Series
    By -

I bought this vehicle because of the quality I associated with the name. Three days after purchase the car was dead in my driveway. After a battery recharge and a navigation reset I was back on the road only to need another navigation reset. Now the rear window is broken. All this is a BMW "certified" vehicle. And dont forget the CPO warranty has a 50 dollar copay each time! BMW dealer never has loaner vehicle because they are always full of cars for repair. Something to think about before buying a "high end" vehicle. BMWs comment -- well this is a high maintenance vehicle you know. High maintenance = to the shop monthly. BEWARE. I will be cautious before buying a BMW again.

  • First BMW, mixed feelings - 2006 BMW 3-Series
    By -

Bought the car over some competitors mainly due to leg room (Im a bit over 65 and about 195 pounds). Certainly the fit is better for me than my previous Nissan Altima, but, when it comes to interior squeaks and rattles, this car comes up a bit short. Squeaky dash, especially when accelerating in chilly weather. I get 24 mpg with premium with little interstate driving. Paint finish is horrible, Ive never owned a car whose hood is so susceptible to chipping off (and I owned a Skoda at one time!). These days, I always look at other BMW hoods in parking lots, and sure enough, their hoods are dotted with paint chips as well. Disappointing.

  • Confirmed: Ultimate Driving Machine - 2006 BMW 3-Series

Prior to purchasing my 330i I owned a 528i, and the difference between the two cars is remarkable. I miss the comfort of the 528, but the performance, styling, features, and feel of this new 330 are, in a word, inspirational. Options I ordered include the premium, sport and cold weather packages. The cabin is nearly perfect, from the sports steering wheel to the aluminum trim. Handling and road feel are superlative; acceleration is wonderful. Like many others who have posted reviews of this car, I look forward to every next opportunity to drive!

  • Now BMW for Life - 2006 BMW 3-Series

Wow. Really glad I made the decision purchase this car. It is FAST. Much sportier than I would have thought of a heavy, 4-door. Nearly nothing can keep up with it on the road and its grip is insane. I waited a long time to find this car, and it was well worth it. It turns heads and kicks tail!

  • Great Automobile - 2006 BMW 3-Series
    By -

This was my first choice purchase and after looking at many, many competitors I know I was right to buy this great, great automobile. Its the perfect combination of luxury, style and performance. The iDrive is a good option, despite what many reviewers say about it, and make sure to get the Sirius satellite radio option. The traction and handling available from the all wheel x- drive option is perfect for Illinois winters.
