This Year's Model Updates:

The BMW 3 Series sedan and wagon have been completely redesigned for 2006. Major highlights include new features, more powerful engines, a slightly larger interior and the incorporation of BMW's latest exterior styling elements. The 3 Series coupe and convertible are unchanged this year but will eventually move over to the new platform being used for the sedan and wagon; expect to see a new hardtop convertible for the 2008 model year.

Pros:
  • Still the standard when it comes to perfectly sorted vehicle dynamics, high-quality interior materials, wide range of configurations to suit any style, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Still costs more than most of its competitors, lacking in interior storage space.

I have owned my first BMW (blk sapph/blk leather/alum/manual/sport/prem/CA/shades/nav/rear folding seats) for a little over a month and have completed just over 4k miles. Yes, its that fun to drive. Driving Feel - always feels planted, minimal roll in turns. Feels very tight and composed during aggressive driving. Delivers power on demand with smooth acceleration. These combined with a well-insulated cabin, make high speed driving feel effortless and safe. Light, precise clutch, solid shifter movement. iDrive+BT - handy for ad-hoc exploring, fun & easy to use. Pwr shade - neat toy but not used much. Was skeptical about Comfort Access but wont get a car without it now (same with nav).

Last December it was a time to return my 2006 Impreza from a lease, so I spent good month in advance to shop around for new car. Right now any new one good loaded mid size sedan will go easy up to 30k, and if its German then you are looking around 40k. So I decided to buy 2006 certified car, had to drive 2006 C-class, A4, Jetta, etc. They all good but not impressed until I stop by at local Bimmer dealer and took 325i with premium pack for test drive. Guys I couldnt believe that car could be made so well balanced suspension/power/comfort. I just felt in love with it plus 0.9% financing for 5 years, two first payments made by BMW, and great price to clean the inventory by the end of the year.

Have almost 10000 miles on it now and it still smells like new, handles like a charm, goes like a rocket. Bmw really hit it on the nail this time around and will be rewared. I drive it to work every day and get looks and comments."nice ride" How do you like that fighting machine" I plan to hold on to this baby for a long time!

  • Excellent overall - 2006 BMW 3-Series

Good power from the V6, smooth flexible engine, fun shifting 6-sp manual, firm and controlled ride, great steering feel and handling, beautiful inside and out, efficient interior space for its exterior dimensions, quality interior materials, comfortable (especially the sports package seats), vastly improved handling with aftermarket lightweight 18" wheels with real non-runflat tires. Decent MPG for cars size and engine (23mpg overall in 50/50 city/highway spirited driving in Chicago).

The 330xi is not a car to purchase if you are looking for comfort. The size is not bad and it can be fun to drive. It has good mileage, decent interior, plenty of nice amenities. However it is a noisy ride. The road noise is almost deafening after awhile. If you use the bluetooth feature to talk on the cell phone you cant hear your caller. Apparently it needs new tires every 10K miles. Yes, 10K miles (they will tell you its more like 15K but they are lying). This car has turned me off of BMW (and I have had several). Never again.

  • Nice car over all. - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I bought my 330i auto 3 months ago and I have to say it is at top of its class. I dont have any problem with my run-flat tires because I have a premium and sport package with 18" tires made by japan. My only small complaint is for BMW should have made more power on 1st gear, but I fixed that as people suggested drive on auto-M and car shifts like a sports car and is really fast. If you dont mind a sporty shift. If you looking for a fun fast car and classic, this car will make people turn heads. 330i has almost all 530i has, style, horsepower, fun.

330 i Black sedan sports/premium package chrome wheels. One of the funnest cars to drive in it class. Have had Lexus, Mercedes and this one tops the cake. 3 years of playing the radio loud every day and the sound system still rocks. Had two small problems when car was new airbag light and steering wheel lock, but since then car has been very reliable and actually am surprised. Steptronic is so fun if you know how to use it right it really feels realistic. The car is sensitive to every pothole but no biggie had to replace only one run flat tire but do to huge nail on side wall that wouldnt be fixable on a regular tire. Replace first set of run flats at 31k and I drive crazy so no complaints.

  • Bought Car used in 2013 - 2006 BMW 3-Series

This car has been amazing i wont lie.. For being my first car to buy on my own i am happy with my purchase.. Bought the car with 67k miles on it and now driving it around with over 140k miles. This car drives and handles just like you see in the commercials.. You can drive fast around sharp curves and have your headlights lead the way.. For someone who is 64 size isnt the best but not terrible either i have with it. I drove from Washington state to New York in my car and was comfortable the whole way.. I will say after 145k miles you will start to see issues.. I have had to have all my Spark plugs and coil packs replaced probably totaling $500 all together. Then recently with in two weeks i have had my serpentine belt replaced, and its pulley replaced totaling over $300, plus i have had electrical issues with my car completely going dead loss of all power 2x now luckily at home though.. Thanks to AAA saves my life. I have had my air conditioner not working, and other minor errors. This car burns through oil like nothing, and tends to have oil leaks.. Love the car but i think its time to get something newer.. I would suggest buying this car and year if you are getting it with low miles.. Its a fantastic car.. .

Only had this car for a few days, for u BMW people I had an E36 m3 and this car is every bit the car that the old m was, but my wife is pregnant so I need a 4 door. This car with sport package and manual trans plus all the modern features is truly awesome. The only other car to look at was the g35 but got a great deal on a cpo car.

This is my first BMW and have been thinking about it for a LONG time. Im glad a did it. This car has a great cross between sport and luxury. The power under the hood is a GREAT plus. The steptronic transmission just tops it off. every input I give to the car it takes and wants more! This car is fun to drive and I feel very safe behide the wheel. If you thinking about getting this car and you like to drive. DONT put it off as long as I did.
