This Year's Model Updates:

For 2004, all Imprezas sport revised front and rear fascias -- gone are the oddball circular headlamps in favor of a more mainstream wedge-shaped design. In addition, all models get upgraded suspension struts (to improve ride quality and steering response), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, a collapsible pedal system, revised gauges and a new stereo faceplate. The WRX and Outback Sport receive projector beam foglights. Inside, WRX models have new sport seats, a central tachometer and darker gray faux metal accents. The TS wagon, Outback Sport and RS sedan add an in-glass antenna, active front head restraints, central power door lock switch and multireflector halogen headlights. Further, the TS now has four-wheel disc brakes. The RS sedan's keyless entry system now has an audible confirmation feature, and keyless entry is now standard on the TS. Finally, the WRX sedan is now available with a Premium Package that includes a sunroof, trunk spoiler, heated mirrors, heated front seats and a wiper de-icer.

Pros:
  • A stout 227 horsepower in the WRX, all-wheel-drive grip, a variety of sedans and wagons to choose from, fun to drive.
Cons:
  • Often pricey when compared to its competition, tight rear quarters.

All I can say is stiff suspension, whiplash power, and more wiplash power for the passengers!! This thing is a beast that can put the all 300 horses to ground. Thanks to AWD!

I bouth this car about 4 months ago and i have had alot of fun with it. It accelerates/handles better than a great majority of the cars out there and alsohandles great when compared to the other cars i have driven. I happen to love the stereo system that came with the car (i got the premimum sound upgrade- sub , amp and better speakers)

This is an amazingly fast vehicle. You can definitely feel all 300 horses and the 300 ft/lbs of torque. The AWD works great and helps out in rough road conditions. This is a pure performance car with little flaws. The negatives I did find were random rattle noises, attention I get from police, unmatched green lighting on the radio and climate control, easily chippable paint, and the gas mileage. Overall this car is for the driving enthusiasts, people who love to hear the cars engine and turbo, feel the cars torque, and be able to take corners with ease. You will not find another car with this much power for the price. Test drive it and you will automatically fall in love with it!

  • Cant go wrong with the STi - 2004 Subaru Impreza

This car is an excellent choice if you are a driving enthusiast who wants a daily driver. The engine pulls good at any RPM, almost feels like theres no turbo lag in day-to-day driving. The car is practical even with its design intent. Four doors and easy to drive make it a great daily driver. The gas mileage may be poor regardless of how you drive, but you will be hard pressed to drive this car like a normal person. The car begs you to push it as hard as you can. The suspension is tight but you can live with it. I have raced that car in autocrosses and the handling is fun, you can achieve oversteer with the right tire pressure. The brakes are also out of this world.

This is the first Subaru that is not only practical and well built but fun to drive! The 2.5L engine is big enough to make the car reasonably quick but still cheap to run (26 MPG mixed driving). A WRX was tempting but with a HP to displacement ratio of about 2:1, that engine is not going to go the 200,000 miles that I plan to run this 2.5L! I am having a little problem with the San Remo red paint, it seems to chip quite easy. In fact, at six months, Im going to need to paint my hood soon. Anyone else have this problem? jjbrady219@aol.com

At $31K, this car provided the Best Bang for the Buck! I had high expectations when purchasing, and I got so much more than I anticipated. People think Im crazy for buying this car for a daily 80-mile round trip commute, but I say theyre crazy for driving anything else! - Speed off the line! 300HP! - The style forces people to check it out, give me the thumbs up or ask questions about it when theyre at a light with me. - ALL WHEEL DRIVE ALL THE TIME. Snow & rain are not an issue - I look forward to these conditions. - Its 4-Door and fits 5 adults. I can drive everyone to lunch again! - Its rare that you see them on the road due to limited production.
