Overview & Reviews
For 2004, all Imprezas sport revised front and rear fascias -- gone are the oddball circular headlamps in favor of a more mainstream wedge-shaped design. In addition, all models get upgraded suspension struts (to improve ride quality and steering response), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, a collapsible pedal system, revised gauges and a new stereo faceplate. The WRX and Outback Sport receive projector beam foglights. Inside, WRX models have new sport seats, a central tachometer and darker gray faux metal accents. The TS wagon, Outback Sport and RS sedan add an in-glass antenna, active front head restraints, central power door lock switch and multireflector halogen headlights. Further, the TS now has four-wheel disc brakes. The RS sedan's keyless entry system now has an audible confirmation feature, and keyless entry is now standard on the TS. Finally, the WRX sedan is now available with a Premium Package that includes a sunroof, trunk spoiler, heated mirrors, heated front seats and a wiper de-icer.
- A stout 227 horsepower in the WRX, all-wheel-drive grip, a variety of sedans and wagons to choose from, fun to drive.
- Often pricey when compared to its competition, tight rear quarters.

Fine Vehicle - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By Dick990 - October 12 - 2:00 amI have leased a 97 Imprezza for 3 years. I bought a 2000 Imprezza and drove it until I bought the current car. The only thing that has ever gone wrong was a burned out LED on the cruise control switch on the 2000. I lived with that with no problem. These are wonderful small cars getting an easy 32+ mpg on the highway. I will be moving on to a Forester because I am getting old and like the additional safety

Greatest AWD sedan available in the USA - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By ric01 - October 12 - 2:00 amTo anyone thinking of buying this car- DO IT! The power, transmission, ride, handling, styling is all good. The car has been built really well and it will outperform Audi S4, BMW M3 and anything that costs $20k more. Its quiet and refined when you need it to be and a beast when you need that too! (Snorting, tarmac-shredding, fire breathing and ALIVE.)

Love the WRX - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By n632cm - October 1 - 10:00 amI have been very pleased with my purchase of a 2002 wrx sport wagon. The car drives great! It is a big bang for the buck in my opinion. To really enjoy the car, get it over 3000rpm and enjoy the world of turbo charging. Overall a great car for the price!

Subaru is the best! - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By INUYASHA - September 17 - 10:00 amI love driving my new Subaru!!! I love the fact that I get to see the whole road while driving. I was going to get a Honda CRV, but it costs way too much more than what I am getting from Subaru. Besides, Subaru has a Excellent ratings on Crash Tests than most of the SUVS or cars around. I wouldnt want to trade it in for anything else!!! I will always going to buy Subaru!

so close to perfection - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By wonkothesane - September 17 - 10:00 amjust picked up my 04 silver WRX. I couldnt be happier with her. AWD inspires confidence in bad weather, not to say that it makes me drive faster, but it is one less thing to worry about when on the road. Pickup is incredible, even though I havent violated the 4000 rpm limit for the break in period.

The first car Ive ever bought! - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By jon1848 - September 5 - 2:00 amThis year, I decided to stop leasing and purchase a car outright. After months of research, I bought the Subaru Impreza TS Sport Wagon - what a car! The 165 horsepower feels like twice that. The acceleration is much more sport than wagon. The boxer engine helps keep the centre of gravity low and it shows in the smooth, stable cornering. The look of the car has improved significantly with departure of the Neon-esque front- end.

The real thing - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By teaz - August 30 - 2:00 amI bought this car for its handling and power. For a car this powerful and inexpensive youd figure that servicing would be frequent and costly, this is not the case as the cars drivetrain and engine components are rock solid and can take a real beating. Had this been an other make, it probably would have some pistons dangling somewhere on the road side. I question the decision to use a 6 speed over a 5 speed as it has a wide powerband. This is a fun car, no regrets at all. Thanks subaru!
