This Year's Model Updates:

For 2004, all Imprezas sport revised front and rear fascias -- gone are the oddball circular headlamps in favor of a more mainstream wedge-shaped design. In addition, all models get upgraded suspension struts (to improve ride quality and steering response), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, a collapsible pedal system, revised gauges and a new stereo faceplate. The WRX and Outback Sport receive projector beam foglights. Inside, WRX models have new sport seats, a central tachometer and darker gray faux metal accents. The TS wagon, Outback Sport and RS sedan add an in-glass antenna, active front head restraints, central power door lock switch and multireflector halogen headlights. Further, the TS now has four-wheel disc brakes. The RS sedan's keyless entry system now has an audible confirmation feature, and keyless entry is now standard on the TS. Finally, the WRX sedan is now available with a Premium Package that includes a sunroof, trunk spoiler, heated mirrors, heated front seats and a wiper de-icer.

Pros:
  • A stout 227 horsepower in the WRX, all-wheel-drive grip, a variety of sedans and wagons to choose from, fun to drive.
Cons:
  • Often pricey when compared to its competition, tight rear quarters.

The Subaru WRX has got to be the best car that I have ever purchased. Where I live there are tons of dirt roads that most cars just cant get through. Ive been using SUVs for the past 16 years and I enjoy driving cars more than SUVs. The new WRX has made my life so much easier by having AWD and I get all the comforts of a car that i need. Thanks Subaru for making such a great car!

An amazing vehicle!! I have so much fun driving this car. ItÂ’s the best money I could have ever spent. The power and handling of this car is phenomenal. Passing on country roads used to be a nightmare in my truck, now I have to be careful not to go over 120 mph. It gets a little annoying after a while that every Honda civic with big rear wing wants to race me.

Because of the great power, reasonable gas mileage, and superb handling the car is great fun on long trips; especially in mountain areas.

There is no other car on the planet that makes more sense than a Subaru WRX STi! It makes 300 hp+300tq with no turbo lag from a turbocharged and intercooled 2.5L Flat 4 cyl,AWD,6 speed tranny, 4 doors, looks that could kill and with minor modifications can make well over 400 hp (like mine does). Sure the ride is a little harsh, but youre glued to the road I feel safer driving my 2 daughters around in it than any SUV or Volvo. Decent gas mileage and very reliable in all weather conditions. Plus 0-60mph in 4.5 sec & the 1/4mile in 13.3 sec@104mph STOCK! Ive spent approx $3500 and my car makes 427whp@6400rpm&446wtq@3600rpm,0-60 in 3.8sec & the 1/4mile 12.3@117mph! Its my daily driver too.

  • Sporty family hauler - 2004 Subaru Impreza

Ive only had the WRX a week but, I am constantly impressed with the level of performance built into the vehicle. The vewhicle was actually purchased for my wife, but I seem to be the one using more. The interior is small, so if you have kids or are hauling people, make sure everyon will fit. We have a 1yr and 3yr old, and their seats fit with just enough room to lower the center armrests. The cockpit is nicely DESIGNED, but sparcely appointed. If you want luxury, you can pay more but you will lose the smile factor when driving. Ive been researching this for months and cant find a better blend of utility, performance, safety, and liveability.

Absolutely love this car! Jaw dropping acceleration, tight handling and grippy all wheel drive make this a blast to drive.
