Overview & Reviews
For 2004, all Imprezas sport revised front and rear fascias -- gone are the oddball circular headlamps in favor of a more mainstream wedge-shaped design. In addition, all models get upgraded suspension struts (to improve ride quality and steering response), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, a collapsible pedal system, revised gauges and a new stereo faceplate. The WRX and Outback Sport receive projector beam foglights. Inside, WRX models have new sport seats, a central tachometer and darker gray faux metal accents. The TS wagon, Outback Sport and RS sedan add an in-glass antenna, active front head restraints, central power door lock switch and multireflector halogen headlights. Further, the TS now has four-wheel disc brakes. The RS sedan's keyless entry system now has an audible confirmation feature, and keyless entry is now standard on the TS. Finally, the WRX sedan is now available with a Premium Package that includes a sunroof, trunk spoiler, heated mirrors, heated front seats and a wiper de-icer.
- A stout 227 horsepower in the WRX, all-wheel-drive grip, a variety of sedans and wagons to choose from, fun to drive.
- Often pricey when compared to its competition, tight rear quarters.

Impreza sti - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By timstein - May 13 - 10:00 amCar was great, until a month ago. The car is only 5 months old and I had to have it tuned up 3 times- oil leak, problematic fuses and a faulty odometer! This car is a 2004! , I am disappointed. I regret buying this car.

Blue STi - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By subbynut - April 27 - 10:00 amOwned several high performance cars. The STi is the most practical. However it does not have the same quality build/fit and finish as the german and other japanese products.

The whole package - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By Nosmoke - April 1 - 10:00 amOnce you are moving 20 miles an hour, this car is an absolute blast. You can FLY. I look forward to my commute every day. Negatively, the other reviews are correct in their assertion that unless you abuse the clutch, the little Honda Civic at the light next to you can keep up with you for far too long. However, this does allow for great everyday driving and getting good miles like the Civic.

Car is solid - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By nortel73 - March 20 - 11:30 amIve had my Outback Sport for nearly 5 years and was thinking of replacing it (vanity reasons)...but the cost to own this has been so low. I easily get 28mpg highway, brakes and tires are cheap (unlike BMW, audi and VW which are 10K more from the start), and the car is solid (unlike the Toyotas and Mazdas at the time which are comparable price wise). I have seriously abused this car and it runs fantastic.

This is the All In One solution - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By sagelwwa - March 19 - 2:00 amThis car is the best mix of practicality, cost, performance, looks, and reliability Ive ever seen! I sold my 1995 Toyota Supra Turbo with tons of modifications so that I could get a more practical car. I got this car and it turned out to be much more than practical as I had hoped. It was a great, worry-free decision to get this vehicle!

Impreza a good little hatchback wagon - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By Subaru convert - March 19 - 2:00 amMy first foreign car purchase. Ive never had 4 wheel drive before either. So the Impreza was an all-around new experience. A good experience so far. Looked at the Matrix/Vibe, loved them but for a lower price got a loaded Impreza TS Wagon in AWD. Also looked at the PT Cruiser.. great storage space but performance, lack of AWD and very poor gas mileage. All in all very happy.

You Only Live Once - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By 04BlueSTI - February 1 - 9:46 pmThis is an absolutely amazing car for the money! I have had mine for almost a month now, and have many upgrades. We can fit the carseat in the back, and as far as the insurance company knows, the STi is a four door family car. I traded in a mustang gt for the STI and love the trade. The STi has power, as well as being VERY economical. Gas mileage is good, when youre not wearing the lead shoes. And the dependability that Subaru offers is one that stands strong. It is hard to find a fast car that will never get stuck in the snow, but the Subaru did it.

Great Car - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By jo151 - January 31 - 10:00 amAll i can say is that for the money this car is excellent. I think for any price this car is a good choice because it can be driven all year long. If you need only one car this should be it. I was considering a 911, boxster, corvette, and M3 but they all require a separate car for the winter. Besides, after driving them all i came away more impressed with the power, grip, and brakes.
