Overview & Reviews
For 2004, all Imprezas sport revised front and rear fascias -- gone are the oddball circular headlamps in favor of a more mainstream wedge-shaped design. In addition, all models get upgraded suspension struts (to improve ride quality and steering response), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, a collapsible pedal system, revised gauges and a new stereo faceplate. The WRX and Outback Sport receive projector beam foglights. Inside, WRX models have new sport seats, a central tachometer and darker gray faux metal accents. The TS wagon, Outback Sport and RS sedan add an in-glass antenna, active front head restraints, central power door lock switch and multireflector halogen headlights. Further, the TS now has four-wheel disc brakes. The RS sedan's keyless entry system now has an audible confirmation feature, and keyless entry is now standard on the TS. Finally, the WRX sedan is now available with a Premium Package that includes a sunroof, trunk spoiler, heated mirrors, heated front seats and a wiper de-icer.
- A stout 227 horsepower in the WRX, all-wheel-drive grip, a variety of sedans and wagons to choose from, fun to drive.
- Often pricey when compared to its competition, tight rear quarters.

world performer - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By xfd - August 2 - 2:00 amOne of the best all around performance cars in the world...for a bargain. Most cars of this level cost 2 to 3 times the price. Also very good detail work like the STi logo on the tail pipe... as for everything else lets just say.. you can take it to the race track right out of the box!!

Why buy anything else really? - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By chipsahui2 - July 28 - 10:00 amJust bought an silver wagon and cannot be happier. Before I took the plunge, I was skeptical about the gas mileage as many people complained and gas prices are not pretty these days (My commute is 70+ miles a day). 1800 miles and 3 weeks after delivery date. I dont know why anybody complained about the gas. This thing is amazing with gas. I am very close to meeting the EPA estimates. My first full tank got 24mpg (already content). My last was high 26s (360 on 13.4 gallons). For you lead footers, shift before 3. I still think its enough power to move around. Overall, this is one amazing car. I cant wait until the snow comes. Oh yeah, its fast too.

Awesome - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By wht93gt - June 27 - 2:00 amI dont even own one of these cars. I went to the dealer, and a younger guy came out to help me. He then offered to take it for a test drive!!!!! It was about a half hour before closing and he wanted to kill some time. While I was driving he said to me, "dont be a girl, give it some gas. this is a performance car." so thats what I did. All I can say is WOW. I have a 93 Mustang GT and the STI will destroy it. When the rpms hit about 2000, it feels like you just got shot out of a cannon. The car is absolutly mind- blowing. Im now trying to find things to sell, so that I can afford an STI.

STI is an Evo-eater!! - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By Sti Girl - May 27 - 10:00 amAfter test driving the EVO-8 and finding myself very dissapointed, I began in search of a better car. What I found was a car far superior than the Mitsu. And once I found myself at the top of a dealer list for delivery of the STI, I waited impatiently for my beast to arrive. Since I picked up my car in mid May, Ive had a permanent grin on my face from ear to ear! The car is everything that I ever hoped it would be. Nobody wants to even try to challenge me.

Best Car for Fun and Family - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By exp_deal - April 8 - 10:00 amI bought my WRX last weekend. I am very impressed with it. Not to mention the great horse power and acceleration that everyone knows about, the interior is actually very good and up to my taste. Some people complain about the cheap interior. For those who are doing research, you must go to dealership to see it and test drive it. Its not luxury, but it is not cheap either. The ride is much more quite than I expected. The basic sound system is not bad as well. I have a big cargo room and a roof rack that I know I would appreciate someday. For fun, family and practical use, this car is simply the greatest for the price.

Great is you live in mountainous areas - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By jayp - April 8 - 10:00 amI purchased this car as a result of living in mountain area, and bad winters. I like the fact of all wheel drive of course, but its reliablility, pepppy, safety, fun to drive factor and decent fuel mileage was the winning factor for me. Theres really nothing to compare it to.
