Model Overview:

The Mazda CX-7 is a compact crossover SUV with seating for five. Introduced for 2007, it was a refinement on the more utilitarian Tribute and like most newer Mazdas, it has an athletic demeanor. The CX-7 also incorporates most of the elements that continue to make crossovers so popular, including carlike handling, available all-wheel drive and a useful amount of cargo capacity.

Although the CX-7 is fun to drive as crossovers go, its base four-cylinder engine is memorable for its sluggish acceleration and subpar fuel economy. The available turbocharged four-cylinder solves the performance problem, but its fuel economy is even worse. With the efficient CX-5 waiting in the wings, the CX-7 was phased out after the 2012 model year.

I have two kids, and dont want a minivan. This is a zippy fun auto, with enough space for my groceries. Really enjoy it so far!

The tires cost $180 per tire and last 20k. this might be OK for a Porsche but this is a Mazda. I also get maybe 17 miles to the gallon. The car requires premium gas and lastly, the AC compressor has lots of problems and is dangerous when it breaks. Would not recommend this car. Reminds me of my Dodge Intrepid days

Very fun ride. Love the turbo and the handling. I drove a number of SUVs and crossovers and the CX7 was hands down the most fun. Bought the sport model and wished Id spent a few more dollars for more features, but the driving experience and performance are superb Been averaging over 21 mpg city/hwy. I highly recommend this vehicle.

Very good looking for a good price, it has plenty of power even with a 4 cyl, turbo kicks in hard but you leard to adjust for that, very roomy car inside, I am a big man and I have no problem fitting inside.

  • So far so good - 2010 Mazda CX-7

I have had my CX7 for a little over a year now. So far so good. I bought it used with 97 000km (approx 60000miles) and we have enjoyed it very much. The interior is very well appointed, everything is where it should be and the truck makes you feel safe. Cargo space could be a little better, but we have more than enough room for the baby stroller and all our groceries. Performance is very good, the truck picks up and goes when you ask it too, but its no racecar thats for sure. Cabin is a little noisy but getting a decent set of tires will help that, I run 19 inch Yokohama Advan tires in the summer and there is barely any noise. I dont find the Bose sound system that good, the Bose system.

Of all the cars that I have driven over the years, this has been a great car. Its got good handling, performance and everything you look for in a good car, its a lot of bang for the buck. However there are little thing that are missing such as MP3 compatibility, heated seats, etc., but its the little things. Still its a good car. Love it.

  • Stylish & Stability - 2007 Mazda CX-7

I love my zoom zoom CX-7. Strong, sturdy, hold to the ground like a magnet during heavy downpour (yet to test on snow). Much more stable than other SUVs that I have driven in other segments. Its even fun to drive with all 5 passengers. Great looks with great interiors.

  • Exceeded Expectations - 2007 Mazda CX-7

The mainstay of this car is how it handles and stops. It drives like more of a car than any of the competitors in this segment. If you are looking for something a little more roomy than car but dread the blah design of some cross overs or mini-vans, this is a great alternative. The turbo is responsive and acceleration is swift, but could be better. Upshifts under full throttle hold on a little too long past the powerband. If you have a heavy foot, you will pay at the pump. Driving this car in a fun manner will push mileage down close to 15 MPG. If you drive normal, however, the stated 18 MPG in the city is realistic. On the highway, it has returned about 23 MPG.

Where to begin... Come on Mazda, where is the power? Its like riding on a skate board. The stereo is terrible, the ride is stiff and you feel every bump, the seats are uncomfortable. I could go on and on. I am very unhappy with this vehicle.
