Model Overview:

The Mazda CX-7 is a compact crossover SUV with seating for five. Introduced for 2007, it was a refinement on the more utilitarian Tribute and like most newer Mazdas, it has an athletic demeanor. The CX-7 also incorporates most of the elements that continue to make crossovers so popular, including carlike handling, available all-wheel drive and a useful amount of cargo capacity.

Although the CX-7 is fun to drive as crossovers go, its base four-cylinder engine is memorable for its sluggish acceleration and subpar fuel economy. The available turbocharged four-cylinder solves the performance problem, but its fuel economy is even worse. With the efficient CX-5 waiting in the wings, the CX-7 was phased out after the 2012 model year.

  • Great Car! - 2010 Mazda CX-7

Purchased the cx7 just before New Years after much research with Crossovers. Couldnt beat the financing deal offered at that time which was probably the decision maker. This car is fun to drive with decent gas mileage. Wish the back seat had some more room. It is tight even putting items down on the floor behind the front seats at times & when putting down the back seats to load something large in the back hatch the front seats always need to be adjusted up for the back seats to go down flat. Just a little tight back there. A little more window space would be nice to in the back seats. People say its dark and tight when riding back there.

I really love this car! I saw the CX- 7 and loved it! It drives really well and is fun, too. It has all the bells and whistles you could need - Telescoping wheel, outside temp gauge, avg. mpg and speed and much more! The price is right, too. I feel like I got a great deal. Mazda seems to think that they should take care of their customers... hmmm, who does that! I would recommend this car to anyone!

  • Spiders may Block Fuel Tank Vent Line - 2011 Mazda CX-7

Attention MAZDA / 2010-2012 owners Mazda North America Operations has issued a NHTSA Campaign ID Number: 14V114 stating that yes "Spiders may Block Fuel Tank Vent Line". I only have 13,000 miles on my CX-7 GT and believe me Mazda should be addressing the Turbo problem, AC problem and braking problem. Spiders, give me a break. As I said in my prior comment bought a 2013 Honda CR-V base am very pleased with it and just ordered a 2014 Honda CR-V EXL. I still love the styling of my CX-7, but that is about all. Drove CX-5 and extremely disappointed.

  • No regret - 2010 Mazda CX-7

Reviewed CRV/RV4/Forester/Rogue. We were impressed by CX7s refinement, material quality, style, handling, and features. I mean, where else can you find another CSUV with back-up camera, auto A/C, sun roof, power/heated seats, and bluetooth all for $25K? Considering its relatively larger exterior size, CX7 should have a more competetive interior room, but it fulfills our needs. As for the engine, it is fairly smooth, and the power feels no worse than the others in its class, but there is defintely room for improvement if you have a more demanding commute. For the price, it is hard to ask for more. Did I mention it looks stunning?

Fun to drive, LOVE the turbo. Serious problems though. Problems with A/C Compressor that was covered by warranty, problems with timing chain that wasnt. The chain and related damage added up to over $1,600 Harsh ride. Nice stereo though. Have had a continual "groan/creak" in the rear end since I bought it. Four different places have reviewed, none have found the cause. Dealer that does service has been very good though, prompt, and work well with me. (Crain Mazda in Little Rock). Doubtful Ill buy another though.

  • Amazing, Gorgeous Car! - 2007 Mazda CX-7

I waited about 7-8 months to finally be able to own my CX-7 because of various reasons...first because I had to wait for it to be built! Then following a recent career transition, I went and got my GORGEOUS Crystal White Pearl Mica Mazda CX-7. Mine is the Grand Touring AWD model with the Technology Package. Other than occasional verbal matches with the voice recognition on the navigation system, I have ZERO complaints. I love this car (turbo rules!) just as much or probably even more than I thought I would. I cant help but stare at it and think up any excuse I can (late night snack runs!) just to drive it. In fact, its about Midnight on Saturday. I could go for a Diet Coke. ZOOMZOOM.

  • Worth the Wait - 2007 Mazda CX-7

I had researched Crossovers for quite some time before discovering the CX-7. Even before it was out I could tell it was the vehicle I was looking for. It has been a love affair since the day I picked it up. Superior handling, great design, sharp interior. Mazda really did their homework on this vehicle!

Aesthetically this car is absolutely beautiful. This is what the Porsche Cayenne should look like. Acceleration is fantastic. Initial mileage 20.2 mpg (and that is not all highway!). Base stereo sound is just so so, compared to the standard of excellence we have become used to. It is a phenomenal car for the money. No, the base model doesnt have all the bells and whistles of a Lexus, etc., but it still feels luxurious!

  • 2010 CX-7 S Touring AWD Turbo - 2010 Mazda CX-7

After searching for 3 months for a crossover, I finally settled on this vehicle. The exterior is very sleek with its wide stance and cascading roofline that slopes downwards to the back of the vehicle. The interior is very comfortable with its heated leather seats. The controls and display on the inside are very nice and quite ergonomical as well. For the price I paid (just under $30K), the amenities it comes with cannot be matched. The turbocharged AWD engine provides the power you need at your beck and call and the AWD can handle any weather conditions here in RI. I have received numerous comments on the styling and how sharp it looks, and I couldn’t agree more.
