Model Overview:

Crossovers with carlike ride and handling characteristics are perennially popular, and a good example of the breed is the smart-looking Ford Edge. It's a midsize crossover with seating for five. Thanks to its roomy interior, long list of amenities and available all-wheel drive, it's typically a good match for small- and medium-size families seeking a do-it-all utility vehicle.

In road tests, our editors have praised the Edge's quiet ride and advanced features like the MyFord Touch electronics interface, though as with most modern, in-car technology, there's a learning curve. Additionally, Ford offers a range of different engines in the Edge to appeal to crossover buyers seeking performance, fuel economy or a balance of both. Although the Ford Edge might not appeal to bigger families in need of high passenger capacity, it's a solid contender in most other respects.

  • There is another Edge in my future. - 2010 Ford Edge

First Ford we have owned and going to purchase another Edge. Have been very pleased with all aspects of the vehicle. Great ride and easy to handle.

  • Love my 2008 Ford Edge AWD - 2008 Ford Edge

First owner of this vehicle. Absolutely love it. Buying a new one this year just like it. Great ride, fast acceleration, great radio. Could do better on gas mileage, Sync system for cell phones and more backward mobility on drivers seat. Overall a wonderful SUV. Have never had any problems with it. At 62,000 miles right now.

  • I love my Edge! - 2009 Ford Edge
    By -

We bought our Edge used with 38,000 miles on it in 2012. It now has 116,600 miles on it, has been cross-country 7 times, up and down mountains, through blinding rain storms, and it has never failed me yet. The only repair weve had to do so far was to replace the windshield washer jets ($20 DIY) and replace the cabin air filter. (When you think the AC isnt working, check the filter.) Its even pulled a fully-loaded 6 x 12 trailer more than 5000 miles with no problem. I wont be replacing it until it just wont run anymore.

  • Better than any Toyota I have owned - 2015 Ford Edge
    By -

The Edge is absolutely awesome! I have owned three Toyotas (Sienna, Rav4, and Camry). After one month ownership of my Toyotas, they were just cars. The Edge impresses me more every day. I just love the Edge. It is easy to get in and out. The Edge handles great and you always feel in control. The workmanship is first class. On another note, my sons wanted me to buy a BMW X3 or X5. I am so happy I bought the Edge instead of either of those!

  • Fun, Fun, fun - 2015 Ford Edge
    By -

I have had Ford Edge Sport for the past 2 months. These words come to my mind: Solid, Fun, Sporty and a delight to drive. Blind spot monitoring, Lane Departure Warning and gentle nudge back to the lane, excellent blue tooth are all technological pluses. Steering, handling are top class. Very quiet inside, very little road noise. Quite roomy especially the second row and adequate cargo. Overall, quite impressive.

  • 2.7L Twin Turbo V6 has serious ooomph - 2015 Ford Edge
    By -

Mechanical: 1) The 2.7L twin turbo V6 puts out some serious power at 315 HP and 350 FT LBS torque. The technology in the engine is shared with Fords Powerstroke Diesel in that the engine block is made from compacted graphite iron. It is quiet as a sewing machine but does make some nice sounds when you put the go-pedal down. 2) Two small turbochargers vs. one large one equate to virtually undetectable turbo lag. This is a very good thing. 3) The Sport has a very dialed in suspension for a stock vehicle. In all honesty this crossover thinks it is a sports car. Interior: 1) The suede/leather in our Sport is better quality than expected. Seats are very comfortable and interior is mostly devoid of the cheap plastic feel I abhor in many vehicles (think GM). Fit/Finish: 1) Our Edge is the black metallic. It looks great and I have gone over the car with a fine tooth comb and everything is spot on. I am a Toyota guy (Edge is my girlfriends driver) and do not suffer manufacturers that produce poor fit and finish. I am impressed with the Edge. Value/Competitors: 1) Thus far the Edge Sport has been worth every dime of its cost. My girlfriend originally wanted to look at the Nissan Murano and I started looking at other crossovers for her to consider as the Nissan CVT transmission has a far less than stellar reliability rating and resale value leaves a lot to be desired. Both of us agreed that the Edge Sport is better looking, way better performing and overall a better value than the competition. No GM vehicles were considered, several other manufacturers were. Summary: 2500 miles on the vehicle and thus far 100% happy.

  • Whaaaat? This is a Ford?? - 2015 Ford Edge
    By -

This is one of the best prices vehicles for all its options. I literally was able to get every option I could think of (outside a heated steering wheel) and most car brands didnt even OFFER all these options or wanted $10k more for all of them. I exceptionally happy with the mpg, handling, and technology. They are truly putting Out their best effort and my consumer confidence is rapidly climbing. Go Ford!

  • Powerful Titanium 2L - 2015 Ford Edge
    By -

We bought our Edge 4 weeks ago and we have enjoyed the car immensely. Today I drove our Edge up to Big Bear Mountain which is 30 miles and an elevation climb from 1500 feet to 7200 feet. I was concerned about the power of the turbo 2L engine, but I am happy to report that our Edge powered up the mountain equal our better than my V6 Acura TL. We have been able to get 30+MPG on the freeway and average about 24 MPG combined. Love the remote engine start this evening with the outside temperature at 20°F. Looking forward to our next trip in 2 weeks on Pacific Coast Highway between Carmel and Morro Bay. We will update on the car after that trip.

  • Really like this vehicle - 2015 Ford Edge
    By -

We bought the SE and there are two things that I dont care for. If you leave the fob in the Edge and lock the doors with the lock on the door they will lock, the same as locking the keys in your old car. With the electronics they should be able to prevent this or give a warning when the fob is left in the Edge. My Edge has no keypad entry. They give you a key but that is probably at home. I do not have the auto stop/start feature. Wish that I had gotten the auto start/stop feature.

  • Get the Drivers Assistance Package - 2015 Ford Edge
    By -

Waited from May order until September build and October delivery in order to obtain Drivers Assistance package on a Titanium Edge with 3.5 V-6. After a five hundred mile freeway trip, I am very glad I did. It is a wonderful workload reducer and safety feature. Really a fine enhancement to a comfortable driving experience. Also like the blind spot alert and the drivers wheel alert shudder when straying out of lane. Got 25.1 mpg on the freeway and looks like it will be about 19-20 overall. The car is a comfortable five star that was over my initial budget, but glad I went for it. We have aged up and now need safety and comfort more than value.
