Dash Board Problem - 2003 Toyota Matrix
By Mot - March 4 - 10:00 amMy car dashboard rattles when I drive specially in the freeway. I took it to the dealer and they just put some insulation in it. The car still rattles, so I will take it back to service.

Fun car to drive. - 2003 Toyota Matrix
By vparque - March 2 - 9:53 pmI like everything about this car but two things: 1. Not enough power. The car does not accelerate fast enough. 2. No covering for the trunk area. I want to put a subwoofer in my car, but I dont want to show it to everyone who walks by my car when I park it on the street.

Id buy another one - 2003 Toyota Matrix
By sbotero - February 8 - 10:00 amPerfect for a small size family. We are very please with the way it handles. What we paid for it was very reasonable, it came fully loaded. People complain about red lights, I find them very atractive and easy to read.

Great car but cant get options we want - 2003 Toyota Matrix
By Jackeroo - December 1 - 10:00 amI really liked the Matrix at first. A hatchback with folddown seats, great for hauling bikes, for camping trips & it has good gas mileage (unlike most SUVs), plus potential safety features. However, have been frustrated as dealers say cant get ABS brakes without other option packages such as spoilers & fog lights etc. Also none available with side airbags except for XRS, but then you compromise the good mpg and get the spoilers. Takes 120 days to get custom car. So may buy Standard rather than XR, & forgo safety features so we dont have to get stupid spoilers. May look at the Vibe to see their options (they look better too).

Hotrod People Mover!!! - 2003 Toyota Matrix
By cwert99 - November 9 - 10:00 amI am probobly one of the few who has put over 30,000 on my XRS. This car has aged like fine wine. After turning 25,000 miles on it, the engine runs smoother, notably quicker acceleration and the shifter is a little less figity. I love the little VVTL-i engine and the versitility. Perfect for me and my yellow lab and a few friends on a weekend camping trip. No issues with the car to date (not bad with a production number of 4,122). Be sure to have a TRD cold -air intake installed.

just one fun car - 2003 Toyota Matrix
By Dominc - October 28 - 2:00 amFun to drive; lots of space; quick response from padel; sporty in and out; very supportive bucket seats; household power outlet perfect for "plug it in" scent; good handling (out performed a Focus on mountain road in my personal experience).

It does what I want. - 2003 Toyota Matrix
By buzz006 - October 17 - 10:00 amIt is nice to be further off the ground when I step out of the car. I have folded down the back seats moving many things from a snow blower to a tree, to small furniture. It is really nice how flat it does get. I have never really used the tie downs that come with it. I have never come close to the mileage for the city/highway that it is supposed to get. I am at best 4 mpg less than what they say. During the winter around 28 mpg, during the summer around 32 mpg. I drive 1/2 hour to work every day mostly highway. Around 25 miles each way.
