This Year's Model Updates:

A sporty new XRS model debuts boasting a 170-horsepower engine and a sport-tuned suspension. Additionally, all Corollas receive a restyled front fascia and rear taillights. The LE model now has Lexus-like Optitron instrumentation, along with a cloth-trimmed center console and sun visors. Side curtain airbags, stability control and a JBL audio system are all new options.

Pros:
  • Refined and roomy interior, excellent gas mileage and crash test scores, long list of safety features, spunky XRS model, illustrious reliability record.
Cons:
  • Awkward driver-seat position, bland personality, gets pricey when even basic features are desired, sedan body style only.

  • The Best Small Car in the market - 2005 Toyota Corolla

Toyota Corolla 2005 is a fun to drive good looking compact car. Reliable, quiet, smooth, powerful sound system, attractive dashboard, automatic headlights. Excellent buy for recent graduates and others who love compact cars at an affordable price.

  • Smooth ride, sufficient power - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I and a friend bought a corolla today. We got a deal of 13600, which is well below Edmunds TMV price for a very basic corolla with a cd player and automatic transmission. Overall, it has sufficient power for highway speed. It took about 6 second to get from 45 to 70 mph, but the engine noise sounds working hard. Wind noise is not bad, but road noise is noticeably annoying. You may have to turn to volume a bit higher to listen to music. Brake works well. A/C runs smooth. There are really not much you can expect for this price, but the main thing is the engine sounds quiet and the car has reputation of reliable.

I just purchased this car after doing extensive research! I LOVE THIS CAR! I bought a 2003 Corolla S in 2003, and when I found out that they were coming out with the XRS for 2005 I had to have it! Well needless to say after waiting for months for my car to arrive (I ordered it in March)I finally took possesion of my vehicle 2 weeks ago, and I have not 1 bad thing to say! It was well worth the money, and I look forward to seeing what they come up with next!!! On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate this car an 11! Good job Toyota!

With gas prices soaring , this car is ur best bet. I get 41 mpg since I drive at 60-65mph speed. If u drive faster the mpg drps to 38 which is still good. Overall the car is best value for money.A very reliable car.

I bought this car with 97,000 miles in 2008 from a certified dealer. This is my 3rd Corolla. The Gas Mileage on the street is 30-33 mpg, only when I drive between 35mpg and 42mph. The cars elevated height has a PRO & CON. CON: when backing up (or making a turn at a low curb) it becomes difficult hard to judge the distance of the car behind me, or the curb below. PRO: rocks, curbs and parking blocks wont scratch the bumper, or my under-siding at all. The Seats are comfortable enough for a little car. And at 57, I can sleep in it, for a few hours, reclined. The sun visor hits the rear-view mirror. I change my oil before 3,000 miles. And I change Trans fluid once a year. No repairs so far.

I have owed Fords,Dodges,Chyslers,Chevys but by far this is the BEST car I have ever owned. I did a lot of research and shopping before I bought my Toyota. With the standard features it come equipted with and the price it beat ALL OTHER CARS hands down.

  • Get some snow tires... - 2005 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I bought this car back in April of last year and posted a review in July. Since then, Ive had my first experience with it in snow and have some advice for those that want to buy one - get. some. snow. tires! The performance tires that come on the car are great on dry asphalt but I couldnt do a thing with the car once a half inch of snow was on the ground. No go; no stop; no turn.

  • I love it, my first new car - 2005 Toyota Corolla

Just bought my Rolla S back in June. I figured I would wait a while before writing the review about. I drove all the types of the 05 Civic, Sentra, Corolla, Focus, Mazda 3. It was between the Sentra and the Corolla. Well I went with the Corolla since it was a better value. Toyotas are good for keeping their value and the last forever unlike some Nissans I know, I had two of them so I know. But I love the car, and Im glad I went with it. I absoulty Love this car. I would recommend it to anyone.

  • Number one Toyota-san - 2005 Toyota Corolla

An all around solid commuter car that mirrors a Lexus for build quality and soundness of design. This car is very smooth on takeoff thanks to its japanese designed 4 banger motor. The japanese designed 4 speed automatic shifts smoothly. The radio is intuitive as are the HVAC controls. Fold down rear seats allow for longer items to be carried in trunk. Fuel economy on a not-yet-broken-in car is astounding at 31 MPG in city driving.
