This Year's Model Updates:

A sporty new XRS model debuts boasting a 170-horsepower engine and a sport-tuned suspension. Additionally, all Corollas receive a restyled front fascia and rear taillights. The LE model now has Lexus-like Optitron instrumentation, along with a cloth-trimmed center console and sun visors. Side curtain airbags, stability control and a JBL audio system are all new options.

Pros:
  • Refined and roomy interior, excellent gas mileage and crash test scores, long list of safety features, spunky XRS model, illustrious reliability record.
Cons:
  • Awkward driver-seat position, bland personality, gets pricey when even basic features are desired, sedan body style only.

  • Great car to keep for a long time! - 2005 Toyota Corolla

This is my first car I bought and so far I love it. My mother had 3 corollas and loved them all. Great car if you like to save on gas. Cheap to fix. I love my 2005 corolla has a sporty look with spoiler and grille guards on the side. I drive a manual corolla it kind of takes long to accelerate when going up on a hill but runs great. I really recommend buying this car you wont regret it.

I bought a Toyota because Id heard good things about them. I can only hope theyre reliability exceeds build quality. At 54,000 or so miles there began a pronounced rattling under the dash. By 56000 or so miles, there were more along with rattling in the rear of the cabin. The car I traded in was a Mitsubishi Eclipse with 310688 miles. The Toyota has more rattles at 56000 miles than the Eclipse with over 310,000. I did contact Toyota about this. By how their response read, they couldnt help because my car wasnt a Certified Pre-Owned. My next vehicle WONT be a Toyota.

I had researched the Honda Civic and the Saturn Ion Quad Coupe before purchasing my Toyota. The Civic was equal with the exception of comfort on the inside. Comparing the Civic to my Corolla, the seats are just more comfortable. The Ion coming from GM and their reputation forced me to the Toyota Corolla. I am happy with my purchase. The Corolla also has a little more get up and go than does the Civic. If you are vehicle shopping, definitely consider the Corolla.

Handles good with no problems so far.

  • Corolla performs, efficiently - 2005 Toyota Corolla

After nearly a year with my Corolla, Im still discovering its amazing fusion of efficiency with performance. Notice I did not use the word "compromise" between performance and efficiency, but fusion. The Toyota engineers have managed to create a car sips gasoline but can kick butt when I ask it to. I love this car. The standard issue tires had to go, and I could ask for more in driver seating comfort, but overall I am delighted with a car that gives the mileage the stodgy environmentalist in me demands, with the fun and sheer power the teenager in me loves. I shut them down on the streets of California. And I can still look myself in the mirror, knowing my car is wasting. Thanks, Toy

  • #6th Corolla and counting... - 2005 Toyota Corolla

AWESOME CAR!! Ive been driving Corollas for 25 years for good reason- reliability & economy. This car is a kick to drive - responsive, quick & stylish. Finally an empty nester, I looked into my dream-a high end sports car; however reality ($$$ fuel prices/low gas mileage) brought me back to my senses. Enter the new XRS. WOW. Six (count em) speeds!!! Safety minded (airbags galore and ABS breaks) yet able to cut loose in a flash. Sits up way high on 16" Michelins (vs the 14" Ive driven for years). I almost feel like Im in a SUV! I still have my 99 with 120K miles (changed the oil every 5k miles, runs like a charm) and will keep that as a winter rat.

The gas mileage is excellent!! My husband and I also have a 2002 Ram 8cyl truck so we mostly use the corolla for driving. Ive been approached twice in parking lots by people admiring my beautiful car and I have nothing but great things to say! I love my car!

I am a Toyota fan and have been for about 16 years. My third car is the 2005 Corolla. I was more than pleasantly surprised when I test drove it. Its handling, power and 38 mpg are more than adequate. I commute about 100 miles a day. With this purchase, I cant wait to hit the road.

I just purchased my first new car a 2005 Corolla S. So far I love just about everything about it. I love the color (Indigo Ink Pearl), I think this color stands out among all the other colors offered in the Corolla. The ride is very smooth and very responsive. Fuel economy is great. The interior is very sharp, clean, and comfortable. There is also a good amount of room in the backseat and trunk for a sub-compact car. Toyota definetly exceeded my expectations, I highly recommend the Corolla S.

  • ALL AROUND BEST IN ITS CLASS - 2005 Toyota Corolla

After 48,000 miles / 2yrs of harsh commuting through blazing hot summers and freezing cold winters my car still drives, feels, and looks new. Equipped with a 4-cylinder which only packs 130- hp my car has plenty of power, even when fully loaded (5-PASSENGERS + CARGO) to keep up with all types of California commuting (80mph freeways, steep mountain climbs, stop and go city driving, beach/ocean cruising and long stretch highways). This compact sedan is spacious and has plenty of head, leg, and arm room both front and back as well as a large trunk. Also comfortable while traveling long distances. I’ve found this car to be safe, reliable, fun to drive, and economical. You Cant beat a TOYOTA!!!
