This Year's Model Updates:

A sporty new XRS model debuts boasting a 170-horsepower engine and a sport-tuned suspension. Additionally, all Corollas receive a restyled front fascia and rear taillights. The LE model now has Lexus-like Optitron instrumentation, along with a cloth-trimmed center console and sun visors. Side curtain airbags, stability control and a JBL audio system are all new options.

Pros:
  • Refined and roomy interior, excellent gas mileage and crash test scores, long list of safety features, spunky XRS model, illustrious reliability record.
Cons:
  • Awkward driver-seat position, bland personality, gets pricey when even basic features are desired, sedan body style only.

  • This Corolla LE is Awesome - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I just bought this car 2 weeks ago and went to New York on the weekend and really enjoyed the trip. This car has a comfortable ride and the steering is very smooth. LE wood grain interior adds a little more class to the corolla. You cant beat the gas milege. The value of this car is outstanding, cant get a better car at this price.

  • This car saved my life! - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I was in a crash fast enough to set the airbags off. The car looked horrible, but I walked away with only a twisted ankle. In a frontal crash, this is definitely a class leader in the used car market. And before I crashed it, it was a decent little car. It had plenty of power, and the transmission was geared perfectly. The outside was a little bland, but that didnt really matter. The interior was not cramped, but cozy. Im about 53" and the seat was at the perfect height for good visibility. The backseat was also rather large for a car its size, accommodating two small adults comfortably.

  • Exceptional Ride, Quality engineering - 2005 Toyota Corolla

Great ride, took a trip to Vegas on half a tank of gas! Was deciding on Camry or Corolla, Corolla won because of the gas milage. Longo Toyota and AAA was just fantastic, quality follow through after the sale. Love seat riser, simplistic/functional dash that Toyota is famous for. The occasional convoys on open highways new Corolla drivers get into is amusing and a subtle tribute to the engineers, (up to 5 following). Because space here is limited, My advice to everyone, read the manual to find out more cool features. Btw, I work down the street from Toyotas CA offices and lot of Toyotas on their lots dont think youd get that from GM.

  • Nice for the price - 2005 Toyota Corolla

Very nice car for the price. Plenty of room inside. Handles nicely and good exceleration. Not getting the MPG as advertised. Overall good car to drive.

  • Disappointed - 2005 Toyota Corolla
    By -

After I bought it, I already visited the dealer 4 times to repair. Interior is really a nightmare. A consol, side airbag molding, dashboard part, ceiling molding, and etc are shaky and coming out. Heat shield at bottom of a car makes noises, and tire pressure monitor warning light is not working at all. I think toyota never inspects their car before selling it. I am really disappointed.

  • Outstanding - 2005 Toyota Corolla

The car is comfortable and maintains my expectations as to the gas mileage. I bought the Sport SS and it has nice pep when you need it. Although I swore I would never buy a 4 cylinder again, this car has made me eat my words due to its reliable performance and fun driving experience. Shortly after I bought the car I was rear-ended in Chicago traffic. The hit was at 40 mph and to look at the car you would not know it had been hit other than the sport trim having been sheered off at the bottom of the trunk lid. The trunk lid was not affected in the hit and the car withstood the hit without causing sway or loss of control. I was amazed!

This is the 3rd Toyota Corolla that i have owned and probably wont be the last. This is a durable and dependable vehicle. Excellent gas mileage and looks great for the price!! Aluminum wheel package makes for a sportier look.

  • Had a Civic - 2005 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I traded my 02 Honda Civic EX in for the 05 Corolla LE. Hands down, better car all around. Its more peppie, more zip, better interior and after almost 8 months, no problems. My Civic within the 1 st 3 yrs, compressor, struts, fan had to be replaced. This is much better car. The JBL sound system is much better versus the upgraded Honda one.

  • Affordable and fun - 2005 Toyota Corolla
    By -

The Corolla LE Sedan is affordable and fun to drive. I love just about everything it offers, with the exception of a couple minor issues. I have not had a smaller car in many years, and im very happy with this one. It gives a smooth ride and i feel safe in it. It comes with alot of perks, and for a car under $20,000. The newer design is also a plus. Id definately recommend it.
