I loved this car until recently when I had to put approximately $1500 in non-routine maintenance repairs on the car. The car has a little over 60K on it and has had all of the recommended routine service done at the dealership since I purchased it there. Over the last 6 weeks, its been extremely disappointing and I now seriously doubt Ill ever purchase another Toyota. I had to have the trunk latch replaced - $350; replace seal on oil casing (?) - $280; replace something w/control arms on front end - $900. The car has never been in an accident and has been well- taken care of. I think next time Ill buy a domestic car. :o/

  • Cant stop this Camry. - 2003 Toyota Camry

I bought this car used when it had 94,000 miles on it. It now has 164,000. It is the first Toyota I have owned and I would buy another one again without a second thought. I add between 600 and 700 more miles to the odometer every week and havent done anything other than regular maintenance; fluid changes, brakes, shocks and tires. It is a 5 speed, so it maybe feels a little sportier than your grandpas Camry might. It is not the sports car my ego desires, but my practical side relishes its reliability and economy. Who could ask for anything more? Oh what a feeling!

  • Good car albeit a little steep in price - 2003 Toyota Camry

I bought the 2002 LE model. Its was kind of pricey compared to some of its competitors, however this is more a function of market timing as in the recent months there have been better incentives offered mainly with the list of standard features like power drivers seat and power locks (I paid extra for) growing over previous years. Overall, good quality as with the first year of a model there are squeaks and rattles that need refinement. Handles well though especially on the interstate with good pickup.

  • Reliable - 2003 Toyota Camry

I love my Camry. Traded up from a 97 Civic, VERY glad I did. Camry is very plain, but what it lacks in eye appeal it makes up for in the checkbook. Great power for a 4cyl while still getting good (30 mpg) mileage. Wish abs brakes were standard. A perfect family car.

  • No problems yet - 2003 Toyota Camry

I purchased used with 25,000 miles and now have 166,000 miles on the car. I routinely get 31-33 mpg traveling at 70-75 mph. I change oil every 4K miles and at 100k had spark plugs, belts and trans fluid changed. At 135K replaced front brake pads and rotors. Only non maintenance issue was at 150k when the air conditioning would not work. The a/c button would flash on and off and the compressor clutch would not engage. I looked at some online posts and found that thea particular AC relay part number had been causing problems and had been replaced. For $55 I plugged in a new relay and AC has worked fine since. Car is still tight and rattle free, love the JBL stereo and huge trunk.

  • Nice car! - 2003 Toyota Camry

Ive owned it for about a month. Rides very smoothly. In fact, rides more smoothly than most other cars Ive test driven. The shocks absorb bumps nicely where you dont even notice. Not a super sporty car, but is a solid sedan that should last for years.

  • Junior Lexus - 2003 Toyota Camry

Drives/looks like the Lexus ES300 but thousands less.Got a great deal b/c of credit union discounts. This is my first Toyota and I must say the build quality is great.Very much an eye turner.A little lacking in the power department but does the trick getting on the highway.Engine noise is negligible and smoothe.Little road noise except for stock tires transmitting over irregular surfaces. Logical controls are all within arms reach and easy view.Steerings pretty light and has the big car feel when it comes to handling.Toyota!Fix those spongy brakes! High,Cavernous trunk fits near everything.

  • Nice car - 2003 Toyota Camry

I own this car for 5 days and 600 miles, so far. I traded an 01 Corolla with 68,000 miles. I was looking for a 4 cylinder that has room and power. This car has both. I tried the Altima, nice room and style, no power and harsh shifting. The Mazda 6 no power, seats not designed for 6 footer. Accord felt cramped. The Camrys ride is smooth and quiet! Nice stereo. Controls are easy to reach. The brakes are mushy, but the ABS felt mushier. The hood is suppoted with a gas spring, nice not to have that rod in the way. Plenty of trunk space. I miss the automatic headlights. A great car for the price and of course Toyotas dependability.
