  • My First Toyota - 2003 Toyota Camry

Traded my 2000 Dodge Intrepid for 2003 Camry. Camry has a light touch, easy steering, parking and visibility. Nice ride, but not as much fun as the Intrepid, which was low slung and hugged the road like a sports car. Build quality is good, and car has an airconditioner that could chill meat! Great for those hot July days.

  • Large Blind Spots make it less then good - 2003 Toyota Camry

Its been about 7 month since I have this vehicle. Its quite and powerful vehicle with lots of room. Everything is build nice and works well. Drove it 600 miles in one go and no problem. The mileage I am getting is about 18 in city and 23 on highway.

Ecellent transportation for most around town and highway needs. The quality of product was good.

  • Test Drive Carefully - 2003 Toyota Camry

The powertrain is lousy! When driving, there is a delay between when you push the accelerator and when the engine starts to rev. My girlfriend always thought I was crazy until she was driving it one day and pushed on the gas to pass someone and the car didnt accelerate for one to two seconds. It is also difficult to transition smoothly from slowing to a stop and accelerating without the car whipping your head back; this is not because of the awesome power; after the kick, there is not much left. I brought this car in to two different dealerships and also called Toyota to complain. They all say that the system is operating properly. Id never buy another Toyota!

  • Problems after 60k - 2003 Toyota Camry

We bought a Camry after many problems with our 1999 Mitsubishi Gallant. We bought on brand reputation and looks of car. The car ran great until the 36k warranty expired. First thing was that a fuel sensor went bad shortly after warranty expired. $450 Then the paint on the car started to peel. The seatbelts in front have always locked up while driving..Has never drove well in snow and back end tends to swerve in snowy weather. Changed tires because original tires did not grip the road well. Needed new struts at 45k. At 65k the oxygen sensor went and shortly after that the power steering failed. No next time!

  • Camry SE V6 - 2003 Toyota Camry

I like the car. Its roomy. The navigation system is very good. My main complaints are: 1 The engine(V6) is way under powered. 2. The transmission is very very unresponsive. The car cant get out of its own way. The dealer says it a break in period thing(I dont believe it). They say Toyota never has any problems with their transmission. Well mine stinks. Its too bad too because my rating would be much higher.

  • Transmission problems - 2003 Toyota Camry

I purchased my V6 XLE in June. After reading a couple other posts and talking to a few friends, I believe this car has serious transmission problems. The car shifts roughs and hesitates all the time. It bumps into gear at times, especially when slowing not quite to a stop, and then accelerating. Keyes Toyota in Van Nuys assures me that this is a normal function of the transmission. If it is a normal function of the transmission, it makes it very uncomfortable to drive.

  • I highly recommend this car - 2003 Toyota Camry

In 2003 I bought a new Toyota Camry LE and I recently sold it. I bought a 2007 Lexus ES350. Overall I loved the car it is very reliable. I drive 70- 75 mph and get over 30 mpg. I had no issues with the car all I had to do was basic things like replace the breaks, and get a 100K tune up. I highly recommend this car. Lexus and Toyota are just hands down better than the competition. I am a tall guy 63 and there is plenty of room for me to feel comfortable. The back has plenty of room and you can also store quite a bit of groceries in the trunk. Overall this is a solid car but after six years it was time for an upgrade.

  • Toyota 2003 Camry - 2003 Toyota Camry

Im not very happy with this car. The seatbelt locks up even when brake isnt used, ABS kicks in when not needed, veers to the left even after 6 times at dealership.

  • 2003 Camry SE - 2003 Toyota Camry
    By -

A great looking car, but three problems: There is a "thumping" sound in the rear suspension over tiny bumps in the road which is very annoying. The dealer says this is normal for the SE. I must drive quite a distance (over 2 miles) before the transmission will shift into overdrive in extreme cold condtions. The starter makes a "zipping" sound when starting in extreme cold conditions.
