  • Boring Car with Bad Computer - 2003 Toyota Camry

This car had starting problems in the first 1,000 miles. After having it towed in twice and four dealer repair attempts, it now still has problems. Toyota doesnt seem to be able to diagnose computer problems with their cars.

  • Hate my Toyota - 2003 Toyota Camry

Bought this vehicle used. Was forced into market after my Mazda Protege which I loved was totalled. Had a Camry for a rental and it seemed pretty nice for a few days. Now that Ive lived with one I hate it. Seating position is bad. After about a half hour, arms get tired because armrests too far away from steering wheel and steering too light to rest arm. Paint chips easily. Bad stink from exhaust. Engine sounds like it was made by John Deere. Radio reception terrible and stereo sound poor. Seats too soft after about an hour causing back and shoulder aches. Dealer wont do any more than they have to regarding repairs. Certified warranty coverage seems to have many loopholes. Could go on...

  • Dont buy this car - 2003 Toyota Camry

This car has been poorly built. There is excessive wind noise starting from 70 MPH. There are rattles even when the car is driven at low speeds. I also hear a rattling sound when the A/C is switched on.

  • piece of junk - 2003 Toyota Camry

Shift from 1st to 2nd gear floats; shift from 2nd to 3rd gear is a hard double jerk. Just maintaining speed at 1200-1400 rpm and just over 40 mph, engine/transmission pulsates as though transmission cant figure out what to do. Toyota wont fix transmission; they say hard shift is a characteristic, not a fault. Cant hear stereo at highway speeds due to road noise. Seats uncomfortable after 30 minutes, no thigh support. Cant see out the rear window. Lower part of rear fenders loose and will move 1/4 inch. $30,000 piece of junk. Trade-in value of 7 month old car is only 60% of new car price.

  • Camry - Not as Good as Competition - 2003 Toyota Camry
    By -

Ive had my car for about 2 years. I dont like it whatsoever. The clock is positioned so poorly, that only the driver and passenger can see it (and thats if they are sitting upright). The car has poor pick up for a V6 with 190hp. The stereo and air conditioning are positioned too high for easy & comfortable access. The speakers and stereo overall are not as good. I would think that the company with, in my opinion the best luxury brand (Lexus), would provide a really classy car and luxurious. But Im wrong. Too bad, cause I really like Toyota.

  • Must have been a lemon - 2003 Toyota Camry

I purchased my Toyota based on word of mouth. however, I didnt feel the car was all that great. Maybe my expectations were a little too high for a Camry. Turned out to be a major disappoinment. Had to replace tires at 15,000, then again at 21,000. Car has cheap interior design, 4-cylinder is extremely underpowered. Exterior design was sharp, however. I could not recommend this car to anyone. Others in its class are more exciting.

  • Problems+ + + + - 2003 Toyota Camry

i bought this camryproblem 3 months ago and sincs that im evry 2 or 3 days on the dealer problems evry where starts from the brake to the bad noise from the driver door the front psnger. door and the front glass adn the dealer dont want to fix anything he says that they dont know whats the noise problem ... its not only me in the dealer garage there is a lot of camrys like my problem

  • Rear suspension Noise - 2003 Toyota Camry
    By -

The right rear suspension has a thumping noise that is very loud on washboard types of roads. The city streets of PA are not always the best but there is no excuse for having this much suspension noise. This is only on the right rear and usually when the left wheel hits a bump. A thumping noise seems to emanate from the stabilizer bar and right rear strut. Three times to the dealer and no repair or relief.. they tell me that other Camrys have the problem and they are waiting on Toyota to come up with a repair for this noise. I do not expect a new car to have this kind of noise. It was so noisy on one section of roard that my grandson asked if it is safe.

  • Bad experience, not what they were - 2003 Toyota Camry
    By -

I expected a solid car that would get me around town. What I got is a car that barely gets me around town. The car is a clunker in all honesty. I have 51,000 miles and Ive been to the repair shop quite a bit. My transmission went out. My intake manifold cracked and had to be replaced. I have been through 2 sets of brakes and my steering wheel is all over the road. My tires are new.
