This Year's Model Updates:

Kia joins the minivan rumble with the introduction of the Sedona, the lowest-priced minivan in America. Standard on the Sedona are such niceties as air conditioning, power windows, cruise control and auto on/off headlights. Upscale EX models get a CD player, interior wood trim and power front seats. All Sedonas benefit from Kia's impressive Long Haul Warranty with drivetrain protection for 10 years or 100,000 miles.

Pros:
  • Unbeatable price, attractive array of standard goodies, great warranty package.
Cons:
  • Missing some key minivan features, engine could use more power.

Very nice highway and city driver. Just turned 70K, no major problems, but Ill need the major service, timing belt, etc and they hook you for that (who doesnt?). Hankook tires were replaced at 45K and I had it aligned and tires balanced. Luggage rack is actually useful. Easy entrance and exit, solid doors, solid, quiet car.

I drove a Chevy conversion van and wanted to downsize so searched via internet. Unfortunately, my perfect minivan didnt mesh with my pocketbook. Put off decision until last July I drove by a Kia dealer and saw the Sedona, checked it out and fell in love. It had everything I wanted at an affordable price. We bought it the next day without knowing much about it, but at least I knew what I was comparing it to. After putting 10,000 miles on it to date, I still love it.

Have 15K on it. Milege improved after 10K. Wife loves it. Plenty of Zip and smooth tranny. We like the tray between seats. Very well designed

  • Nice Price...Less Problems - 2002 Kia Sedona

We traded our Gr. Caravan for the EX. I enjoy the 5 speed transmission! It is a relief not to hear the whine of our old Caravans 3.3L, 4-speed going up and down the appalachian mountains around here. Kia has a real winner. Ive owned GM and Dodge and neither cruise control would maintain consistent speeds up and down these hills. The Sedona powers up and down without a hitch. My wife loves the loaded interior and our boys love all the neat compartments. No real complaints so far.

i have had stalling problems from start. to meet requirements for lemon law, i had to wait. won case, but was awarded another kia, to cost me an additional $7,000.00. even thou i cant afford this, it is being imposed on me or i need to go thru other channels. dealership lied and manipulated and manufacturer is not fair to deal with either. would not buy another, even thou i actually like the van!

so far we have not found one thing that we do not like about the SEDONA, its braking is exceptional on wet pavement, the EX is sharp inside and outside. It has proved to be an excellent choice for a disabled person, with all the hand pulls and extra power outlets in back. the removable seats, we are VERY pleased with the choice we made. the price and the gas milage doesnt hurt a bit either.

  • My vans better than your van! - 2002 Kia Sedona

Cant believe that anyone would pay more money for a Chrysler, Honda, or Ford minivan.Have had my Kia since July, put on over 6,000 miles. My friends who drive Lexuses are envious! Drives like a dream, very pwrfl A/C and heater.Great sndsystm, very comfy seats etc.The Kia didnt offer a DVD systm at time I bought mine. For about $1200 we had screens inst. in the headrests, a dvd player inst. under the driver seat, cordless headsets for the back put in using infrared sensor.I can control the systm from the front with our hand- held cntrl. We get the luxury of driving a Kia, having a sunroof, and a dvd system and I paid less than I could of with any other minivan!

  • 1st Mini Van - 2002 Kia Sedona

I bought this van on 7/27/02 as it currently has 1300 miles on it. I have not had any problems except for a little rattle coming from the drivers side dash area. Its a great van compared to other vans Ive drove and researched. The price is great. The gas miledge is poor. I guess Im use to driving my BMW which I can go 400 miles before I have to refill compared to 200 on the Sedona LX. Hopefully this Kia will hold up. Never thought I would be buying a Kia use to BMWs, Toyotas. But when I saw the KIA SEDONA I know I had to get it based on the price and the standard features!!

  • Excellent Value - 2002 Kia Sedona

We love the Van - its a great volue and after one month would consider buying another KIA Vehicle. We spent a month reviewing the Honda, Toyota and Mazda vans and found them to be as much at $10,000 more in price. So the seats fold down in the back and the sliding doors have auto windows. - this was not worth the difference in price. The van has a lot of power the 3.5L engine moves in a heart beat and with 7 adults it can move. KIA has the best value and van in the market. The warrantees are excellent. I recommend a Buy!

  • great milage/great value - 2002 Kia Sedona

my 10th new car, best i ever bought. paid 21,000 with tax and still saved $ 4000 from cost of dodge van with v6. tires are heavy duty, 44 PSI rated. WIth 42 PSI i am getting 20 mpg with air conditioning on, even when stuck in traffic jams! would reccommend to anyone that wants a safe ,fun, long term relationship. last van was 1999 GMC Safari. Kia is far more comfortable and just as powerful.
