Overview & Reviews
Kia joins the minivan rumble with the introduction of the Sedona, the lowest-priced minivan in America. Standard on the Sedona are such niceties as air conditioning, power windows, cruise control and auto on/off headlights. Upscale EX models get a CD player, interior wood trim and power front seats. All Sedonas benefit from Kia's impressive Long Haul Warranty with drivetrain protection for 10 years or 100,000 miles.
- Unbeatable price, attractive array of standard goodies, great warranty package.
- Missing some key minivan features, engine could use more power.

please warn your friends not to buy - 2002 Kia Sedona
By poor and angry - May 13 - 10:33 pmAs I pass off my paid off and still under warranty Sedona on trade in, I feel the need to warn low income people not to buy one used. We have had so many problems with the Sedona. Please trust the negative reviews (many of the positive ones were written with too few miles on the van). It may seem like a good deal for your family, but you will not be able to afford to repair it. For example, our harmonic balancer fell off the crank shaft and shredded 3 drive belts, the A/C was serviced 4 times in one summer, an engine cylinder blew, etc. Buy yourself a RELIABLE car and squeeze the kids in. You will not have transportation within a few months if you buy a used Sedona.

Kia Sedona, love it - 2002 Kia Sedona
By Jenny - May 4 - 12:03 amI just bought my 2002 Sedona EX a couple of days ago and absolutely LOVE it! I got all the goodies except the moon roof. It handles great, very comfortable, and the kids think I hit the lottery. Granted, its only been in my possession for 3 days but I have no complaints. No way I could afford any of the other minivans on the market, even if it included just the bare minimum. The best vehicle I have ever owned!!

No Complaints - 2002 Kia Sedona
By Jabes - March 26 - 2:00 amI have owned other minivans and this one is by far better than any others. It much more reliable than my Honda or Dodge. I have over 30,000 miles on it and have only changed the oil. I have not had one mechanical problem with it in 18 months. The fit and finish is better than any American made minivan. The ride is smooth and quiet. I wish the engine was a little more powerful, I live in the Rocky Mtns. and having more power is always good. Not many vans or SUVs that do. This van handles better in the snow than most vehicles Ive owned (we get over 300 inches of snow. Over all it is a great van and would recommend it to anyone.

Never Again - 2002 Kia Sedona
By bnksmith - January 31 - 7:16 pmPurchased van w/ 48,000 miles. Ran fine when purchased. Heat caused dash compartment latch to break now its up all the time. Im not fat and side plastic on seat broke. A/C went out, spent 500.00-broke again-all summer!! Very squirrely in wet driving conditions-its all over the road. Traded out from Rendezvous, because I needed a van. Not much space in back when using 3rd row. (Should have stuck with Rendezvous) Having ghost lights on dash. Brake and other light on ALL the time-no reason. Engine light on-no reason. Gas mileage STINKS!! Figure Ill upgrade to Excursion. It gets around same MPG! HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT!!!

Even with the other new Vans we see on the road, it still feels new to us. When we see other people driving Sedonas, they even stop and talk to us. they say things like " Dont you love it" and "Isnt this a great Van" TRUE!! Its all TRUE. Thats how wonderful this Van is!!

I must be lucky! - 2002 Kia Sedona
By Outafocus - December 27 - 9:40 amAfter 5 years and 78,000 miles I have nothing really bad to say about my Kia minivan. It gets 22-23 MPG on the highway loaded with as much as we can stuff in it. The ride and handling are very nice. Repairs? Ive only had one and that was front brakes at 72,000 miles. I had the timing belt and water pump changed at 60,000 for the warranty and, thats it. First set of tires lasted 48,000 and the current set of Michelins are a little more than half worn at 30,000 miles. Is everything perfect? Nope. The plastic parts around door thresholds, etc., are waaaay too thin. They crack and break easily. Taking the seats in and out is a real pain. If I could buy another one like this one I would in a minute!

I LOVE MY KIA - 2002 Kia Sedona
By Ramonita jimenez - December 23 - 10:00 amI LOVE THE WAY THE FIVE SPEED TRANNY RIPS THREW THE GEARS WHEN I PUNCH IT SOUNDS LIKE A SPORTS CAR. I THINK KIA SHOULD PUT THE FIVE SPEED IN THE NEW SPORTS UTILITY VEHICLE THEY ARE INTRODUCING NEXT YEAR (sorrento)

Great car, iffy service - 2002 Kia Sedona
By DawnBaby - December 16 - 10:00 amOverall, we are happy with our purchase. The mini van is comfortable and fun to drive, especially with the leather package and sun roof. We have had a bad experience with the dealership. The radio broke the day after we got it and they made us wait a long time for a new one. (Do not jump start a Sedona without disconnecting the radio from the circuit panel!! Apparently the dealer jumped the car the night before we bought it and it ruined the stereo) Now the privacy glass is bubbling and we need a new window. A few inconvieniences, but we are pleased with our decision to buy the Sedona.
