This Year's Model Updates:

All models get redesigned headlamps and front fascias along with antilock brakes, stability control, side airbags for front passengers, head curtain airbags for front and rear occupants, strengthened B-pillars (for better side-impact crash protection) and minor interior styling refinements. A five-speed automatic transmission replaces last year's four-speed unit. The EX receives new alloy wheels, and all models now wear 16-inch wheels. A Special Edition trim debuts that includes heated leather seats, heated mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, as well as body-color bumpers, side molding, door handles and hard spare tire cover.

Pros:
  • Highly versatile and roomy interior, stable handling, comfortable ride, good crash test scores standard airbags, ABS and stability control.
Cons:
  • Limited off-road ability, not as big inside as some of its competitors, no V6 option.

  • Better than last years - 2005 Honda CR-V

The 05 CRV LX has all the safety features the 04 EX had plus stability control; and is starts at $19,995. We bought our 05 LX at a dealer 50 miles away because they had it in stock. It is more stable at speed, and handles better than an 04 Tribute we traded in. The Tribute rarely got more than 17 mpg. The CRV at its first fill up with 140 miles on it got 20.5. The interior is roomier than the Tribute and the Saturn Vue we looked at. The build quality is excellent. All the body panels line up and the paint is perfect. It also does not squeak over road imperfections like the Tribute. With the new standard safety features and less than $20k price; this is a hell of a deal.

  • great compact suv - 2005 Honda CR-V

this is my first suv and first japanese auto. its a great compact suv. wonderful outside view, easy to drive and park. holds large items in back. i added a few extras that i believe are worth the dollars. a cargo cover, cargo mat amd wheel locks. everything else is included in the purchase price. one item that should be changed is a variable wiper that gives more speed control.

  • Love this SUV! - 2005 Honda CR-V

Ive only had this car a few days and already Ive discovered its a blast to drive. You feel like youre in a really big SUV without actually having to drive a really big SUV. The ride is very comfortable, handling is good and acceleration is amazing for a 4 cylinder. So far Im getting almost as good city mileage as I did in my 2001 Saturn SL, but Im having a LOT more fun driving this one! All the cubby holes for CDs, glasses, etc. are really great and I love the fold down console because I can stash my purse next to the seat instead of having to throw it behind the front seat. I definitely recommend this vehicle to anyone whos considering one!

  • My second CR-V - 2005 Honda CR-V

I sold my 2004 CR-V so I could get the 2005 Special Edition. The 05 had the few things I was missing on the 04. Sure you can find SUVs with more power, more room, bigger tires, etc. but all come with higher prices and a larger vehicle. This machine is as close to perfect as is possible.

  • My first Honda - 2005 Honda CR-V

We traded our 2000 S40 Volvo for a CRV SE. We need more room and a vehicle that was less maintenance intensive. I miss my turbo and sport car handling however the CRV is a fun vehicle to drive. Honda has made a midsize SUV for a reasonable price. I enjoy the steering wheel controls and the materials used in the vehicle are as nice as some of the more pricey SUV’s. I commute and needed a fuel-efficient car that was comfortable to drive with luxuries found in the higher end cars and Honda has delivered. We love the car thus far!

Because I am on the road constantly, Reliability together with looks is of paramount importance. My little CRV has been a real Gem. No problems with it since I took possession over 100,000 miles ago!! I recommend this vehicle very highly to anyone looking for a small SUV

  • This aint no Trooper, thankfully. - 2005 Honda CR-V

Replaced our 99 Trooper. We gave up space but got economy and refinement in return. The CRV is really fun and easy to drive. It is quiet and smooth highway speeds. Theres no unsettling feeling go through long sweeping turns as in the Trooper.

  • Love IT...but it eats motor oil - 2005 Honda CR-V

I bought a used 2005 Honda CRV and it drives great. However, the only problem I have is that it slowly eats motor oil...Is this TRUE??? To avoid any complications I just have to change the motor oil on time. Love the size, body, and height!
