Overview & Reviews
All models get redesigned headlamps and front fascias along with antilock brakes, stability control, side airbags for front passengers, head curtain airbags for front and rear occupants, strengthened B-pillars (for better side-impact crash protection) and minor interior styling refinements. A five-speed automatic transmission replaces last year's four-speed unit. The EX receives new alloy wheels, and all models now wear 16-inch wheels. A Special Edition trim debuts that includes heated leather seats, heated mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, as well as body-color bumpers, side molding, door handles and hard spare tire cover.
- Highly versatile and roomy interior, stable handling, comfortable ride, good crash test scores standard airbags, ABS and stability control.
- Limited off-road ability, not as big inside as some of its competitors, no V6 option.

So far so good - 2005 Honda CR-V
By Bob from Boston - May 5 - 7:30 pmI have only had my Honda for a short while (600 miles) but I see none of the problems (for example the complaint that CR-Vs often pull to the right) that some folks seem to have. Road noise is a bit more than I like but that is why the stereo has a volume knob. Overall I am quite happy with my choice.

My Blue Honda - 2005 Honda CR-V
By Jean - May 3 - 10:40 pmI have recently purchased another Honda CR-V in March. I love this vehicle. It is not too big or too small. I enjoy the space it has inside. It does get good gas mileage which is great for me since I do alot of driving. It is easy to drive and very comfortable. I highly recommend this vehicle.

Another :So far so good - 2005 Honda CR-V
By Pete - April 16 - 9:00 amSo far so good, only had this one week, took one short trip at night, 100 miles, each way. Rides well for a small car, performance just adequate, but OK in town. I also traded in an Accord V6, so it may just take time to get used to. Quality seems good, and it was made in UK. No loose parts, no rattles, body parts aligned well. (So far.)

Worth it - 2005 Honda CR-V
By quenames - April 6 - 9:06 pmThis has been everything I hoped for: small SUV with tall storage/cargo, very good ground clearance, and tons of safety features. Its also easy for my 6 2" frame to get in and out of, and the flat floor front and rear is great. Fold down piece between front seats is handy. I agree that the black interior is a total pain to keep clean, and the CRV is certainly not to be confused with a smooth riding, good handling sedan--I have an Outback than is rock solid at 80. The CRV can feel a little loose after 70, especially with wind or if you need to do anything sudden. Beyond that, I have nothing but compliments and can confirm the 23/29 mileage that many others report.

2004 Honda CR-V - 2005 Honda CR-V
By TVinc16887 - March 30 - 6:26 pmThe CR-V is a very fun and reliable vehicle to drive. The quality of workmanship and material is top-notch. Average gas mileage is between 20- 21.5mpg in the AWD models, but a little better in the 2WD models. Engine performance for the CR-V is very good with plenty of torque.

A Winter Tank Par Excellence - 2005 Honda CR-V
By Cathy - March 25 - 3:38 amHas survived 2 New England winters at - 30F, mud season back roads, mountain travel, sits out 365 days per year and always starts on the first key turn. Paint incredible, getting 29mpg highway, and 25mpg back roads even with snow tires and a loaded carge area. VTEC engine is same one used to be in Honda Prelude sports car, and only needs regular gas to obtain top performance. Incredibly cost-efficient and stable. Great fun to drive, feels very safe cornering and over rough, rocky back roads.

My 2005 CRV - 2005 Honda CR-V
By Francis - March 24 - 10:25 pmI wanted to purchase the EX version but instead purchased the LX AWD to save the 2K, big mistake. In addition to the obvious enhancements offered by the EX trim line, the seats were even more comfortable due to the better fabric used. Plus, I missed the sunroof, tinted windows and nice alloy wheels only used in the EX trim line. Otherwise, my LX-AWD was a good performer. Avg city/hwy mileage 22 mpg.

Wouldnt purchase another one - 2005 Honda CR-V
By Henry - March 17 - 11:16 amFirst honda purchased, engine misses out, was told by dealership the missing out is OK, something the CRV engine does. Gas mileage is average 22 miles per gallon. Just not pleased with the car.
