  • This is Definitely the Low End Product - 2010 Subaru Impreza

Before I begin I just want to say I have owned 2 Foresters and they are both great cars. I bought this Imprezza used from a dealer in 2014 with under 36000 miles. I thought it was a great deal because of the milage. I have owned it for less than 3 months and I am now scheduled for my 3rd service appointment to fix the turn signal. I have read that Subaru cut corners on this model to save money and actually made the wire harness too short so that it pulls loose. I really like my dealership and in general I like Subarus, but I cannot recommend this model. I will actually be purchasing a new car this year, but I am no longer considering the Crosstrek, as it is just another Imprezza.

I made the right choice when buying this car, drove solid from the dealership, love the fact this is awd, cant find a car awd in its class for the price, interior I really like some have not like thee seat material, I feel there right on, surprisingly good acceleration, and shifts, love the fact this is a rally inspired car, this car will be in the family for a long time .

  • Its a Gem - 2010 Subaru Impreza

I bought it new just before the beginning of winter. The all wheel drive and low center of gravity make winter driving about as secure as I have ever experienced in a car. The quality, inside and out is like that of cars I have had that cost much more. I bought this car as a second car, and did not want to spend a lot of money. At first, I thought Subaru cars were too expensive. Now that I have one, I wonder why they are not more expensive.

  • So far so good... - 2010 Subaru Impreza

What a great vehicle loaded with tons of cool features, including safety and innovative powertrain design. I didnt buy it because of good gas mileage (come on... its AWD), superior finish and top quality materials, or because its a head turner. I believe this car delivers acceptable performance and reliability, superior safety, adequate comfort, and great driving tools all for about $20,000! Im very glad I got mine!

  • Total Failure of a Car - 2010 Subaru Impreza

The clutch on my 2.5i Subaru went out at 40k miles, the center armrest cracked, the side arm rests caved in, the trunk rattles and it burns oil like mad. Now the car is turning itself off intermittently while running, probably from a failed fuel pump. We are selling this car and getting a better vehicle. This has been the worst vehicle weve ever owned.

  • Value - 2010 Subaru Impreza

This car is an excellent buy for the money. Overall value is excellent. Body design is main stream. All wheel drive system is unsurpassed. Drive train is adequate. Interior seating looks cheap, but it is very comfortable. Drivers side seat has a barber chair style manual crank up & down function that works beautifully. The radio is extremely sub-par, but the rest of this car is a class leader. If you compare features & cost, this is an unbeatable value.

  • Shortcomings - 2010 Subaru Impreza

This is my 3rd Subaru, I had a 97 Outback and have a 2004 Forester. This new 2010 Outback Sport disappoints. The driver seat height adjuster is ill designed and it has to be pumped up almost every time car is used. It is too long and too high, so contact with it is inadvertently made, thus lowering the seat. The front headrests are raked too far forward and constant head contact is annoying and a distraction while driving. Subaru will not correct these faults. They say "thank you for bringing it to our attention". The silver outboard dash vents reflect in the outside rear view mirrors. I had to paint them flat black. The radio is mediocre.

  • Downsizing. - 2010 Subaru Impreza

Sold a Honda Pilot to get the 5-door Subie due to a longer commute after moving. Boy, everyone was right about the stereo. It stinks! But I was expecting it after reading the reviews here. Ride is comfortable. Handling is decent, much better than the Pilot but not as good as my previous Prelude SH. Decent power though. Gas mileage is 27mpg mostly freeway. A little low on mpg but wanted the AWD so its a trade-off. Only had it for 2 weeks. No regrets about getting the Subie. Will update once the the weather gets wet in the Fall.

  • 2008 civic Si to 2010 WRX - 2010 Subaru Impreza

Bought this car on a whim. An 828 credit score can do that to you. I was disappointed in my Sis power output and its inability to shine even if throwing $2k in aftermarket parts at it, it can only gain an additional 20 hp. Compare that to the WRX which already beats it 2 seconds to 60 mph, and with $1300 for a downpipe, cat- back, and a custom ECU tune, gains 50 hp and 80 lb ft torque. Thus, making a fast car even faster. It doesnt have the precision steering that the Si has, or the stereo, but the power is why I bought the WRX. I expect to lose a few mpg to the Si which is fine. 1st and 2nd gear are a riot BTW! Highly recommend this car! Dont buy an Si if you expect straight line performance.

  • The WRX is a really fun car to drive! - 2010 Subaru Impreza

Just under 1,000 miles so far, which means I can start going a little higher on the revs. Thats scary, because even at 4k-5k, the acceleration is phenomenal! Outstanding pick up at low mph or highway level. Very smooth. Got two window roll-downs from other drivers on my first day saying it looks great and asking how it drives. That just doesnt normally happen. I wish the front under-fender (Im not really an expert, so Im sure thats not the name) were a little higher for curbs, but I think I can get that changed. Averaging 24 mpg so far, but Ive been driving it pretty hard, lots of city, and its still breaking in. Most fun car Ive ever driven. Cant wait to take it skiing!
