This Year's Model Updates:

Ever expanding and improving its brood of stately vehicles, Mercedes gives the C-Class a complete overhaul for 2001. A choice of two new engines, increased safety features and sleeker sheet metal tempt those who seek to gain a foothold into the exalted realms of Mercedes ownership.

Pros:
  • Solid construction, free scheduled maintenance, S-Class Jr. styling.
Cons:
  • Tight squeeze for backseat occupants, pricey for its segment.

This is my 4th "Baby Benz" and would never get tired driving the car. I love almost everything about it except probably the emblem in front of it. It is too old-fashioned and I would prefer that they just have it flat on the hood rather than have it sticking up.

The car LOOKS great on the inside & outside, but other than that its the worst purchase ever. Ive never had so many issues from a car than this one. This was my first & last MB purchase. The issues Ive had: taillights constantly go out, seats dont move anymore, ac/heather no longer work, belts broke, catalytic converter, the list goes on.

After six years of strickly driving sports cars, I decided to buy the Mercedes-Benz C240. Its not a sports car, but it;s the only alternative I would recommend to one. Do not buy one without the warranty. Upon purchase, the the transmission went with in 100 miles. Thanks to the warranty I recieved a new one free of charge. Other than that I am 110% satisfied.

Ive had my C240 for 28 months now and it has had 21 repairs done on it. Bought the car in Arlington, Va and now live in Scottsdale, AZ. My attempt to get MB to take back this car and get me into another MB car have failed. Im very dissapointed in the reliability of this car and second, that the mfg. wont stand behind their product. The problems: electrical, sunroof motor, power seat motor, door wouldnt open from the inside, fuel gauge wouldnt read accurately (this one is especially great with a wife and two month old daughter) and more electrical problems! Wish I would have bought the BMW.

I have owned my fully-loaded C320 for a year and a half. I had ordered it before it even started shipping or without looking at the demo because I had placed my order way in advance. I like the car, however the minor annoyance and problems are too numerous to mention. Probably my first and last Mercedes.

this car is great, fun to drive and you need to put rims on it.

  • Caution DO NOT BUY! - 2001 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The vehicle has been in the shop for warranty repair twice a month since purchased - between electrical problems, sensor failures, integrated telephone failures (on 3rd phone), and overall lack of response from MB - RUN from purchasing one of these lemons! It basically boils down to one thing - MB no longer holds the reliability it once prided itself for manufacturing. They have gone the path of "Chrysler" reliability and quality.

  • Fun Car but be careful! - 2001 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I have owned this car for a year and a half now and have had to take to the dealership about 15 times for various quirks. Not that the car has really alot of problems just the dealerships have crappy mechanics so far. They break stuff and the service managers are scripted on what to say it gets annoying. MBUSA doesnt care either about the problems as they are all independantly owned. Not what I would expect from a supposedly classy luxury car. As long as the car has no problems you are ok but the dealerships are terrible. The new models dont even have the free service deal anymore which is sad for what you pay for the vehicle. Better cars out there for the money but I dont feel as safe in them

Since you dont have the 2002 C230-K yet available for comment on your site, I felt impelled to share a few comments about mine. The car is very cute from the outside, and pretty comfy from the inside, however I have had to bring the vehicle to the dealership 5 times over the past year. The all glass sunroof squeaks all the time,no matter what temp outside. They just cant seem to get it right. The ball bearings had to be changed already and the front windshield leaked thru to the floor. The side mirror lights have blown out twice in one year.I am very disappointed with the car and would not consider purchasing another Mercedes.

Excellent all around. There is no way I could be more satisfied with this car. For the price, it is an absolute dream. I would never consider owning a different vehicle.
