This Year's Model Updates:

The 2003 Honda Element is a completely new vehicle for Honda. It's also the most adventurous Honda vehicle in quite a long time. Its blend of features, such as barn-style doors and waterproof seats, make it a good choice for those with active lifestyles.

Pros:
  • Impressively versatile interior, optional four-wheel drive, trick audio system, styled as if out of a Japanese animation movie.
Cons:
  • Only seats four, Elements with automatic transmissions and 4WD can seem sluggish.

I went from a "99" Beetle to the 2003 Element and love driving it. Both cars drive alike so it was easy to adjust to. My friends love riding in the back seat because it sits high up so they can see out the front.

fantastic car/truck handles lke a car very roomie interior and very comfortable ride. If i had a worry it would be the exterior plastic moulding seems to me like something that will get scratched or marred and not be repairable. It has not happenned to me but it gives me that impression. I also would have taken the plastic moulding and had it go on the bottom half of the doos so it wouldnt look so "patchy".. I guess i had to say something not so positive about a car i absolutely enjoy drivin when you sit in the car it is like an oasis it is so roomie and you wouldnt think that by looking at the outside of the vehicle. Very good car to drive.

  • This car is a survivor!! - 2003 Honda Element

My husband recently totaled our Element. He swerved to miss a deer at 60MPH, spun out on the road berm, and the car rolled down the highway, landed on its wheels, then smashed into the ditch/hillside. The only part of the car that was not mutilated was the back hatch door. The car was smashed beyond recognition. My husband was uninjured except for a goose-egg on his forehead since the drivers airbag did not go off. This vehicle held together so well that even if it held 4 people, all would most likely have been unharmed, except from flying glass. ALL this and the engine would still run. I would totally buy another Element, and plan to as soon as possible! This car is amazing!

Utility is the word. Its a station wagon. Its a van. Its a camper. Its a SUV. Its a music listening room. I like this vehicle. I have had people ride in the back seat who are well over 6 feet tall and their knees do not hit the back of the front seats. It is fun to drive and has adequate power.

  • STOP STARING AT ME!!! - 2003 Honda Element

The c Element is great overall. The gas mileage is great for an SUV. The audio system is great in the EX, but it doesn come standard with remote entry. I love how u can turn all of the seats into a bed. The car rides great and doesnt tilt at all, but what was Honda thinking by putting only 160 hp into the car... come on you got to have at least 200 in an SUV. If you want attention, this is the car to buy. Everywhere i go people are just staring at the car, and within 3 weeks i have talked to about 30 people (that ive never met before) about the car and they have all said that they liked it.

The day after I got my car it snowed 18" and I didnt know how the little Honda would do even though it is all wheel drive I thought it might get hung up in a drift somewhere but it did amazingly well. I was shocked at all the accidents I watched happen right in front of me as much more sophisticated trucks spun off the road and the little fearless Element rolled on through. and before my temp tags expired I went on a cross country trip from Wash. DC to Moab Utah for a week of outragious mtn. biking. the car gets great mialige, has enough power, piles of space and is just a kick in the pants to ride in. I love it

Ive looked at everything over the past year. Decided to take a look at this "Ugly Littly SUV" just to ease my curiosity. I couldnt believe the interior room. Im 6, 250 lbs and felt right at home. I was concerned about the power of the 4cyl. Went back to the dealer the next day and drove one. Drives as good as my wifes Maxima. They had me in mind when they left out the carpet and used waterproof seats. Theres nothing to mess up on this vehicle and its so versitle. Had the dealer locate a 2wd EX in black and took delivery last week. Other than the ragging from my buddies, everyone seems to think its pretty cool.

This car, or thing, whichever you like to call it, runs very smoothly and comfortably. You get a great sound system and there is lots of room for long distance driving. People love to ask why my husband and I bought it because it is so ugly, some call it a spaceship even. My husband and I love to rave about it to those people and tell them how fun it is to drive and we can laugh at the people who stare. They just dont know what theyre missing. Never judge anything by its cover, right?
