This Year's Model Updates:

The 2003 Honda Element is a completely new vehicle for Honda. It's also the most adventurous Honda vehicle in quite a long time. Its blend of features, such as barn-style doors and waterproof seats, make it a good choice for those with active lifestyles.

Pros:
  • Impressively versatile interior, optional four-wheel drive, trick audio system, styled as if out of a Japanese animation movie.
Cons:
  • Only seats four, Elements with automatic transmissions and 4WD can seem sluggish.

I cant believe how much I love this car! It has to be the most I have ever received for my money. I have had BMWs, Ford Explorers, they dont even come close to the Element. The interior room is monsterous. It corners like it is on rails. Everytime I get out of it I just stare at it and it brings a smile to my face. I am 29 and it is so fun to drive.

I have never paid full retail for a car before, but I did for this one. Too popular right now and dealers know it. It drives great and the stereo very good, I dont know why Im reading other reviews about bad speakers? Sounds good to me. I didnt buy the Teflon sealant for the paint, still wondering if I should? Any advice?

When I first saw the Element I thought it looked like a mini Brinks armored truck. It drives like a car with smooth acceleration, a tight turning radius and lacks the tippy-feeling of most SUVs. The suicide doors make access to the childs car seat in the back easy except in tight parking stalls. Its got great head and leg room in the front, and the reclining seats in the back allow 64" people to ride comfortably. The stereo thumps, the rubber floors are easy to clean, and the rear privacy glass are all bonuses with the Element. I also like the fact that its quite short (I have extra room in the garage). I love my Element.

This is the first car I have owned for more than 5 years. I think its a keeper. I live in Mexico and its the perfect vehicle for the terrain. And like all good Mexicans, you can get at least 6 adults in it - not comfortably - but none the least useful to the culture! Whenever I have it maintenanced here in Mexico, everyone at the dealership has to get inside and check it out and so do the customers - its definitely a head turner. I had a front end accident and the Element barely had a dent while the other Nissan pickup looked like a Mack truck had hit it. Even in Mexico, Honda dealerships provide excellent service! I have a 4wd/EX Sunset Orange.

  • Neat Little SUV - 2003 Honda Element

This is a neat little SUV that gets 26 to the gallon and its 2.4 four has enough power to make it fun to drive. Slightly more small truck than car. Nice and roomy. The look takes a bit getting used to. Some say it looks like a Hummer on a diet. One guy asked me if the windows were bullet prove because it looks like a small Brinks Truck. It also reminds you of a Jeep. It is quite roomy yet quite small and if fact it is shorter than a Civic. The Ex has a great sterio with SubWoofer between the seats.

I had tried out the Nissan Extera and toyota Highlander prior to buying the Element. I am very pleased with the vehicle. Handles and steers very well. Easy and fun to drive. Love the practical and elegant simplicity of the interior. Very comfortable driver seat.

  • Love It? Love It! - 2003 Honda Element

Its either you really love it or you really hate it. Its design is a bit compared to other small SUVs in its class, but overall the Element stands up to competition very well. The price of the Element came as a shock, I was expecting another $30,000.00 SUV, but this one barely reaches over $21,000, not bad! The prototype Honda orginally designed was named Type X. It had round headlamps, and side marker blinkers. After some tweaking of ideas, we have the current Element. Smart, Practical, and made for everyone.
