This Year's Model Updates:

The 2003 Honda Element is a completely new vehicle for Honda. It's also the most adventurous Honda vehicle in quite a long time. Its blend of features, such as barn-style doors and waterproof seats, make it a good choice for those with active lifestyles.

Pros:
  • Impressively versatile interior, optional four-wheel drive, trick audio system, styled as if out of a Japanese animation movie.
Cons:
  • Only seats four, Elements with automatic transmissions and 4WD can seem sluggish.

  • Wish I still had it! - 2003 Honda Element

I put probably 32,000 miles on my Honda in two years. I never had any problems with it. It did make a weird noise when I turned really sharp, it was not a big deal. I bought the car with about 95,000 mile on it and it did that when I bought it. The dealership said it was because of the AWD. I drove a different one a year later and it did not do that. Besides oil changes, I only spent 350.00 on it the entire time I owned it. That was for breaks and its 100,000 mile maintenance. I thought it would need a new belt, but it has a timing chain that last 300,000 miles! We really used this car for what it can be used for. Camping, hauling, animals, etc. The seats are very durable! Seats four.

I got my element used in 2009 and it still drove off the lot like a new car. Its been noting less an absolute pleasure owning this vehicle. I moved and it would have been a nightmare if it werent for my element. It carries more than I could imagine. Its so spacious and really handles the road well. It also handles mountains well! My element handled a mountain camping trip like it was its job. I cant say enough about this car! I thought it was kind of ugly at first but after owning it for a few months, I love it so much it seems like the most beautiful looking car ever.

This is the most perfect vehicle for me. Im a mother of 2 very active boys ages 11 and 9, and also have 2 dogs. Between the sports and the dogs were always on the go! Its easy to get in and out of, for both kids and dogs! And the best part there is no carpet!!!!! I can just sweep and whipe clean with a wet rag!!! Its better than a mini van!!!

Ive had my ELEMENT for six months now and I LOVE IT!!! Its been in several states (no small feat in California-- its 6 hours to ANY other state) and seen the whole state! Everyone tells me how ugly my car is-- until they ride in it the first time and then theyre like "its so cool!!"

Im a weekend DJ who used to have a mid- size van to lug equipment around. Gas prices were starting to empty my pocket fast,I needed something smaller but everything I looked at that was smaller couldnt even hold enough equipment for a small wedding! I found the Element online one day and I knew that if it was big enough inside, Id end up buying one. Im 44 and this is the first car that I can say I love. It has everything I need.

I was trying to decide between a PT Crusier, a Matrix or Vide, a Focus, and the Element. The Element won me over! First off, the price was great. Then comes the design and the practical elements of the design. COOL CAR! I am a little worried about the gas mileage...I traded in my 98 Civic DX hatchback and am missing the mileage on that little thing, but well see since my Element is so new. So far the reaction from people in this area has been staring, pointing, and a few yells of "What the hell is that? " or "Looks like a shoebox on wheels." I think it looks like a cross between an old woodie and a jeep with a touch of Hummer.

  • The Best Vechicle Ive Ever Owned - 2003 Honda Element

I absolutely love my Element! The interior is very spacious and comfortable.. great for long trips or just around town. The durable body style and build is definitely designed to withstand it all. It is also packed with neat assesories that you can add on. I especially enjoy the attachable interior curtains & tailgate cabana for us camping lovers. I rate it a 10 all around. Definitely the best vechicle Ive ever owned.

This is an impressive vehicle satisfying the SUV in Americans while considering fuel economy, classic styling, and simplicity in design.

  • My "Poor Mans" Hummer.........Love it. - 2003 Honda Element

The only problem Ive had....a 6 month wait for the 5 speed model, but it was worth the wait.Love everything about it,smooth drive, great soundsystem, and head-turning looks.Im obviously into the "ugly factor"in a big way as my 2 Shar-Peis just love to cruise around town...especially with the back window in the raised position.Id like a dollar for every time Ive been asked "is that the new Hummer"....Hey,its the Midwest, what can I say.
