This Year's Model Updates:

The big news is the arrival of the A4 Cabriolet, a fetching drop-top version of the A4 sedan. Initially, the company will offer only one drivetrain choice -- front-wheel drive with the 3.0-liter V6 engine and continuously variable transmission. Expect to see a 1.8T version midway through the model year and a 3.0 quattro Cab by October 2003. No word yet on the possibility of a manual transmission. As if this weren't enough, Audi plans to release a coupe version of the A4 in early 2003. The rest of the A4 lineup benefits from equipment upgrades. Leather is now optional on all 1.8T models, as are 12-way power front seats. All 3.0s will come swathed in leather, with more deluxe leather optional. Previous stand-alone options for the 3.0, including xenons and satellite steering wheel controls, have been swept up into the Premium Package. A new cold weather package includes seat heaters and a ski sack, and 17-inch all-season tires are a stand-alone extra.

Pros:
  • Available all-wheel drive, classy interiors laden with amenities, stable handling.
Cons:
  • Price goes up quickly with options, engines a little short on low-end torque.

  • Give it time.. - 2003 Audi A4

I loved my 99 A4 but it was coming off lease and I could get a good deal on the newer model. I am not dissapointed I made the move. The 3.0 engine in the new car is faster, smoother, and quieter than the older model. However, it takes time for the engine to break in. I kept hearing people say that but it is true. After 3500 miles the car just feels effortless. The engine has a nice growl. It does seem to run with more gusto on different manufactuers gasoline. My car prefers the Mobil in my area. People love the look of this car. It gets compliments all the time.

I have driven a lot of cars in my life time... And I have always been into performance...(Owner of a nostagia Top Fuel Dragster that does 5s in the 1/4 mile) But My Audi A4 is just a blast to drive... Comfort, and luxury is second to none... And the service I get with valet parking... My corvette only dreamed of such showcasing....

picking a car is similar to when you are about to ask a girl out =) I have to admit~ive looked around~you consider all the options and test drive all of them because these are not a cheap car. I have to say,you can not make a wrong choice with modles. But you have to ask yourself, what are the key things that you really want? I bought a Audi because its cheaper than bmw 3 and you get a lot more for the money, which includes 4 wheel drive system. I have yet to determine if i made the right choice or not~based on the reliability of this car. the key! research~research~and test drive all of them

  • Love the car, but its a heartbreaker! - 2003 Audi A4

I love to drive my A4, which makes it only more painful that its been in the shop more times than Id care to count. Its peppy, smooth, and easy to handle on the highway. Its beautiful inside when everythings working. But, its had more broken electrical parts than I knew existed on a car, and every repair is crazy expensive. I wonder if they fly the parts one by one from Germany! Like others, have had multiple issues with the stereo, sunroof, various lights/indicators, relays, in addition to the dead fuel pump. Tires pop like balloons, and theyre expensive, too. An expensive love, for sure.

The most stylish and fun Euro-chic car for the money...Period. Never mind the horsepower, its plenty with the 5- Speed manual trans...the Quattro handling is phenomenal and its an absolute blast to drive - rain or shine!!! I sold my BMW convertible and havent looked back...Drive German or Walk...Seriously consider the Underdog = AUDI.

I love this car. I live up in ohio, where we have all the season to enjoy, and this is the perfect car for it. From blasting through the snow, to opening the sunroof, and flooring it on the freeway on a summer say, this car rocks!

  • Good car with some extra cost - 2003 Audi A4

Wow, I will probably buy another Audi, but I will do so more informed. The car is a thrill to drive and relatively good on the gas with out a lead foot. That said it takes premium fuel to push this wagon. Dont believe you can sub 87 octain every now and then, it will foul the spark plugs. If you are a DITYer be careful driving this car on to a hydraulic lift, the sport suspension does not allow enough clearance to prevent high centering. I bought this car used in Oct 06 for about 16.5K two years later it is at least as valuble as what I still owe.

I purchased this car in May 02. One of the major selling points has to be free maintenance 4 yr/50,000 miles. Well, let me tell you, it will come in handy. My experience with the dealership has been pleasant overall, but when I spend $35,000 for a car, I expect it to be reliable. At this price, my car shouldnt be laid up at the shop for 2 weeks. Do yourself a favor...let AUDI work out the bugs on this car and if you have your heart set on one, then by all means get behind the wheel. It is a solid, sporty and very safe car. You wont be disappointed.

  • Great Sporty Sedan ! - 2003 Audi A4

Still waiting for my 03 A4 3.0L. Test drove CVT, Quattro and Cab models with both 1.8L and 3.0L engines. I think the CVT is a great concept but its not ready yet. There are some hesitations with transmission, sometimes made me feel being out of control with the car while stopping or trying to quickly accelerate. 1.8L engines are underpowered and need to be phased out. However, 3.0L w/Quattro is a totally different car as far as the feel of driving goes ! The engines sound alone makes me feel driving a powerful car. The acceleration is nice and the car sticks to the road no matter what. 3.0L engine is the only option with A4 as far as Im concerned.
