Overview & Reviews
The big news is the arrival of the A4 Cabriolet, a fetching drop-top version of the A4 sedan. Initially, the company will offer only one drivetrain choice -- front-wheel drive with the 3.0-liter V6 engine and continuously variable transmission. Expect to see a 1.8T version midway through the model year and a 3.0 quattro Cab by October 2003. No word yet on the possibility of a manual transmission. As if this weren't enough, Audi plans to release a coupe version of the A4 in early 2003. The rest of the A4 lineup benefits from equipment upgrades. Leather is now optional on all 1.8T models, as are 12-way power front seats. All 3.0s will come swathed in leather, with more deluxe leather optional. Previous stand-alone options for the 3.0, including xenons and satellite steering wheel controls, have been swept up into the Premium Package. A new cold weather package includes seat heaters and a ski sack, and 17-inch all-season tires are a stand-alone extra.
- Available all-wheel drive, classy interiors laden with amenities, stable handling.
- Price goes up quickly with options, engines a little short on low-end torque.

Audi Quattro 1.8 - 2003 Audi A4
By Audi - February 2 - 4:49 pmI purchased my Audi brand new and had to replace the fuel pump twice. Once at 28,000 miles (under warranty) and just recently at 57,000 miles (out of warranty, a $500 repair). Other than that the car has been very reliable and fun to drive. With the Quattro all wheel drive it is very easy to get around in the snow.

what a car! - 2003 Audi A4
By rbconnell - January 14 - 2:00 ammy audi A4 1.8T Cabriolet is one of the most fun cars ive ever owned. long trips are no problem, as the car just takes care of the road, and the interior appointments make sitting for a few hours pass in no time. terrific seats! economically, it is a great value, and the milage is pretty good, too. the audi is quick and civilized, and turns heads like nobodys business. buy one and have a blast!

Supermodel - 2003 Audi A4
By newportgary - December 20 - 2:00 amI would say this car is like a supermodel. Very good looking, but not very quick. The car has a lot of fine qualities, but if you are looking for off-the-line zip or passing power, you will be disappointed. Probably the best built, best looking car in its class. I cant wait until they put a decent engine in the next round of A4s. Looking back I should have gone for the 3.0 w/o the quattro.

Good engine - bad everything else - 2003 Audi A4
By Alex - December 11 - 1:57 pmThis car has had so many electrical problems I cant even remember all of them. Parking lights each went out one at a time requiring separate visit to dealership for each one. Bad design caused moisture to corrode the contacts. Sunroof was opening on its own and dealer finally found problem after 2 years. Headlight alignment warning light came on, was fixed and now is coming on again after out of warranty. Stereo speakers are shorted out and intermittent. Also, back window just fell out one day. Engine is good but even it had sludge issue and took three days to repair. Hood latch gets jammed and wont open. Cupholder problems - not big enough and wont even pop out of back seat armrest.

CVT sucks - 2003 Audi A4
By gary - December 8 - 10:00 amI have had the A 4 for about 3 months, the power is o.k. but the thing has a 1 to 2 second delay when you accelerate from a dead stop, this is a big problem when turning left infront of traffic. I would not buy this car again with the CVT.

Great used luxury sport vehicle - 2003 Audi A4
By dwmcginnis - November 23 - 11:53 amWe were looking for a sports sedan but not neccessarily the Audi, but when we saw the car it immediately caught our attention. We really liked the exterior line and the interior finishes. After the test drive we were hooked, but concerned about the reliablity of the Audi brand. Our fears were relieved when we researched the car. After a second test drive we bought the car and have no regrets. The car handles extremely well on the back roads. We have had no troubles with the car which is approaching 67,000 miles. Our only beef is the car feels cramped when our two elementary age kids are with us. The car performed and handle extremely well on a recent mtn. trip.
