I love my passat! - 2000 Volkswagen Passat
By billkollector - September 14 - 3:00 pmI love my car. Have no doubts about this car, this is an Audi A4 with VW badging. All repair parts are completely interchangeable with an A4 of the same year. Passats are built in Germany so you know they are built correctly, not like the Jettas which are built in Mexico. You cannot go wrong with this car. Note for the consumer though, look for the 2.8L V6. The VW turbos have been known to need replacement after 100k km.

Really nice - 2000 Volkswagen Passat
By aljommm - August 3 - 2:00 amThis is a great road car. I look for excuses to drive it on long trips. Seems like the faster you go the better the feel. A strong performer that doesnt need to downshift to climb some fairly steep hills. A car that goes this well really should stop well -- and this one does. The brakes have a really good feel to them. The ride is taunt and doesnt smooth all the bumps, but get real - this is a sports sedan. What you lose in smooth ride is more than compensated for by the handling.

Happy Passat Owner - 2000 Volkswagen Passat
By Happy Passat Owner - June 27 - 2:00 amTest drove Maxima, Accord and other used cars. Passat was best overall- most comfortable, safety features, good performance, excellent engineering. I have 45,000 miles on it and it still drives like new. Very quiet on the highway and smooth around town.

By van w. - June 20 - 2:36 pmThe 2006 VW Paassat costs too much to keep up. This car is a monster - 2000 Volkswagen Passat
By Sbass - June 11 - 10:00 amWhile I love to drive this car, it is a repair nightmare. The car has only 33,000 miles on it and I have already purchased a new clutch and timing belt. Not to mention the myriad spooky electrical problems and the fact that the "emissions workshop" light is almost always on no matter what I do. Run, dont walk, away from volkswagen. The car is truly unreliable, and the service is awful. (My car was completely dead and they wouldnt even look at it for 3 weeks!)

By Rich Almeida - May 29 - 2:00 amExcellent car, Im now a VW owner for life. Only problem was a bad mass airflow sensor, which is pretty common on these cars, good thing i got a warantee. the new sensor is almost $400! Would reccomend this car to anyone, the ride is as good as any audi ive been in, exceptionally smooth and quiet.

Never Again - 2000 Volkswagen Passat
By Katriyna - May 4 - 10:00 amWe bought this vehicle brand new. From 3 months on we have had repeated problems with the electrical and mechanical systems. It has been in the shop so many times for the same problems, and the dealerships are very uncooperative. Although I love the way this car drives and looks, and the comfort is undeniable, I am very disappointed. Had I really researched it and spoke with people I knew who have owned VWs I would never have gotten myself into this costly mess.

LEMON - 2000 Volkswagen Passat
By lemon1 - April 29 - 10:00 amI purchased my 2000 Wagon less than a month ago. During that time it has been at the dealer twice for repairs. The O2 sensor and a hose went out less than 72hrs after I bought the car and McKenna VW in Costa Mesa, Ca. wanted to charge 500 dollars to repair the car. Even though it was under warranty McKenna said "I should take it to the dealer I bought the car." After getting the general manager involved I got the car fixed, but was told McKenna was "doing me a favor.” VW has the worst customer service ever and I will NEVER buy a VW again. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

Nice vehicle, poor reliability - 2000 Volkswagen Passat
By lynx6200 - March 11 - 10:00 amI got this vehicle used, so part of the problem may be that the seller didnt tell me anything. However, since I have had the vehicle, there have just been way too many repairs (tunk release, water leaks in the trunk, dead engine, unalighned frame, short circuited cd player). Anyway, Ive had to pay for all of this because the car was out of warranty. While these arent the only problems, VW service is horrible. Ive come to them several times with problems, and they charge me but cant answer them, or fix something the wrong way, leading me to seak help from others.
