Overview & Reviews
More power is in store from a new 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. On the outside, Toyota has added a redesigned front grille and bumper, new headlights and taillights and a bolder rear bumper. A new appearance package (only available on the SE Coupe) includes alloy center caps for the wheels, a three-spoke perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, black trim and Black Pearl emblems. Rounding out the changes are standard daytime running lights, optional seat heaters (coupes only) and a trunk-opener function for the keyless remote.
- Roomy cabin, convertible version, reliable Camry genes, delectable V6.

Mid Life Crisis Averted - 2002 Toyota Camry Solara
By Michele J. - October 25 - 10:20 pmFor years Ive wanted a convertible. This is my 3rd Toyota. This is a great car and fun to drive. The only problem I have had is the convertible top. It seems to catch on the right rear side often. This causes the "lip" behind the back seat to tear. Other than that, no problems.

Pleasure Trip - 2002 Toyota Camry Solara
By anonymous909 - October 13 - 11:06 amWow!! A mid-size convertible under $30K with the reliability and power of a high-end Toyota Camry, packed to hilt with extras....not to mention the best and biggest power moonroof available anywhere. Move over Avalon this is by far the best car Toyota makes. I test drove this thing and had to have it. They dont seem to sell these w/o the upgraded package so be prepared not to penny-pinch. Got mine for $29,999 with everything it can possibly come with.

Fun, Reliable Car - 2002 Toyota Camry Solara
By Kansas - September 28 - 6:13 amI bought my Solara SLE new in July, 2002. Very reliable - Ive put 70,000+ miles on it but have had NO mechanical problems whatsoever. Handles well - especially on curves. Average about 26- 27 MPG on highway. Handles very well in up to 6" of snow. V-6 has a lot of power. Overall fun car to drive!

Sporty, economical and FUN! - 2002 Toyota Camry Solara
By DAVESQWIKTOY - September 4 - 10:00 amThe Solara SE-V6 is a great vehicle. It has crisp power and acceleration, responsive handling through tight curves, minimal roll and good braking. The Solara is fun and easy to drive and the controls are easy to access and operate. There is plenty of room for four and it is a great road car. I get lots of complements on its looks, comfort, power and smooth ride. The only downfall I can think of is the amount of road and wind noise you hear when the rear seats are folded down.

Not a Shock, the average rating is a 9! - 2002 Toyota Camry Solara
By yogi22 - February 25 - 10:00 amFigures the average rating would be a 9. If I was aked that is what I would say. Top Down a 10, Top up an 8. When its up you have to deal with convertible rattle (nothing when the radio is on). Down, it turns heads and performs well. This is NOT a Sports Car, so stop comparing it to Eclipse, Camaro and Stang. Compared to Cabrio and Sebring this car is the only choice. Toyota Service and Reliablity is priceless and what you pay more for it up front, you will get back when (and if) you trade it in.

My Solara - 2002 Toyota Camry Solara
By Angela74 - December 1 - 10:00 amThe Solara is responsive car. Handles well in any condition. The interior of the car is nice with the "wood" grain. Gives you a bit of luxury without the price. Road noise is not a problem in this car despite its low profile.
