Overview & Reviews
Top-level SLE models can be equipped with a new JBL audio system, so long as you order leather upholstery. Option package fiddling makes it easier to equip a Solara the way you like. The anti-theft and engine immobilizer system is restricted to SLEs, while SEs now come standard with a six-speaker cassette stereo. Twilight Blue Pearl is replaced by Indigo Ink as an exterior color.
- Roomy cabin, convertible version, reliable Camry genes, delectable V6.

what about resale - 2001 Toyota Camry Solara
By resale? - November 9 - 10:00 amFirst Toyota I have ever purchased, I have always driving "Ameican made" the car is everything I hoped except for the resale after one year the vehicle resale lost 1/3 of its value which surprised me with Toyota reputation of quality and resale value..

Best car I ever had. - 2001 Toyota Camry Solara
By Solara - October 12 - 2:53 pmA great car over all. I have had no problems with any thing. Good Pick-up and go. Great on fuel, I am getting about 32mpg on highway and 29mpg on city. Unlucky, I had a crash in it already however it has been repaired and it drives like nothing happened. Great car! I am looking for another one for my wife...just in a different color. All thumbs up!

SAVED MY LIFE - 2001 Toyota Camry Solara
By 6paul11 - September 10 - 7:06 pmI wrote a previous review on here, and much time has passed since then. My Solara was an SLE, with a 5 Speed Manual. I just want to tell everyone that this car will save your life. If you take care of it, it will take care of you. I crashed into a the back of a stopped car at 65 mph and it saved my life. My baby is gone, but will never be forgotten.

I love this car - 2001 Toyota Camry Solara
By Ellen in Charlotte - September 2 - 2:36 amI looked for a year for a used Solara convertible and Im glad I waited. I have the 6-cyl and it drives like a sportscar. I have only done regular maintenance (did the 90K mi service), as it has needed nothing else. I plan to drive this car until it falls to pieces, which could be 10 more years. Comfort is great for the driver and passenger, the back seat passengers have complained a bit. And, of course, its a bit noisy on the highway with the top up, just not completely airtight but who cares?

Outstanding Vehicle - 2001 Toyota Camry Solara
By NYABU - July 29 - 7:03 amBought this car new, almost 9 years later it runs and looks as good as it did when new. No major repairs, except for maintenance and the car has never broken down. Particularly comfortable on weekly drives between LA and Vegas. Was rear-ended while sitting at a light by a car traveling 40 miles an hour. The other car was totaled, mine is being fixed and I feel fine. Im glad they could fix, would never get the true value of this vehicle.

Great Car! - 2001 Toyota Camry Solara
By Solara Power - January 28 - 10:36 amIts an amazing car. Ive added a Magnaflow exhaust system, and my 5M V6 sounds amazing. Love the V6. Great passing power. Handles well in snow. Love the JBL! system. The throws are a little long, but it is overall very smooth. Only down side is turning radius and handling in extremely tight quarters.

best used car! - 2001 Toyota Camry Solara
By john - October 2 - 12:20 amjust bought a used 01 w/ 42k miles for $10k- good deal on a loaded v6se. When smogged, the tech said the motor on these are great. Looked at a new 05 model- cant see losing $10K in depreciation in 3 years though. So I found a nice used one that will now not depreciate. Love the int styling and handling. engine is so smooth you dont know its running unless you look at the tach.

My therapy - 2001 Toyota Camry Solara
By Htees - July 4 - 7:43 amMy Solara conv. has been the perfect crisis vehicle for a family guy that wants to cruise, enjoy the fresh air, and still have the ability to take company along. The design draws compliments, the performance is adequate, and the comfort is outstanding. It could use a little more structural support and better suspension components, but other than that no real complaints. The top has proven VERY reliable and sound for a seven year old cloth top, and I have only treated it(water proofing)and had it retightened twice for minimal cost. So far reliability has been outstanding and I just turned 90,000.
