A great sporty car - 2000 Toyota Camry Solara
By Bob - August 27 - 3:59 pmI had a 2000 Toyota Solara for 11 years and was the 3rd. owner. Mine was the bright red, hardtop with sunroof and beige leather interior, 4 cylinder and 4 sp. automatic. The suspension was a little soft (maybe I could have put new struts in it), but it cornered very well. The engine had 135 hp so it wasn't a rocket, but was respectable. Very smooth at idle and on the highway. For whatever reason it seemed to get better gas mileage with high speeds (85-90). It had a personality. It loved spring through Fall, but winter - not so much. The doors would freeze shut frequently and I put silicone on the weather stripping every year. The brakes were marginal, especially in bad weather. I had drums in the rear which I don't like, and the car would pitch forward in hard braking (maybe I should have replaced the struts?). Started to get oil leaks around the valve cover gasket (very easy fix) and seals. The radiator went out and that is a 30 minute repair. Had some unusual repairs such as brake booster and a broken brake line (Live in Cincinnati- they use salt here). and emissions errors were common.

poor quality but comfortable - 2000 Toyota Camry Solara
By pchang - December 4 - 10:00 aminterior is roomy and comfortable. however, ever since i bought the car brand new three years ago, i have had it fixed at least $2000. besides the 36,000-mile only tires, all four of the suspension had to be replaced when it was about 42,000.

Great Car - 2000 Toyota Camry Solara
By lmollstl - October 31 - 4:20 amI have owned this car since new and the only thing I have done to it besides change oil is to install new front brakes and battery. I have also replaced the tires twice. This is the first import I have owned and cannot believe the quality and reliability of it. No other car owned even comes close.

Excellent Vehicle - Highly Recommend It - 2000 Toyota Camry Solara
By oicjj - September 11 - 7:30 amI am so impressed with this car & my next car will the a Solara too! In the past I always owned American cars, but never again! I can not believe the difference between American & Import, its truly unbelievable, there is no comparison. The reliabilty, the ride, the resale, the maintenance is night and day with American made and this Toyota Solora! I love this car-it runs on its reputation! Owning this car has been one of the best things in my life. I am thinking of a new car and I promise it will be a Toyota Solara. I have researched cars & know my cars, so trust me when I say a Toyota Solara is an EXCELLENT CAR! I highly recomment them and will tell the world! :)

Great Car - 2000 Toyota Camry Solara
By Chris - August 25 - 5:03 amI had a 96 Camry that was totaled and my mechanic was selling a 2000 Solara with 125k on it for the right price. I had to put in a clutch and repair suspension the first year (as can be expected at 130k plus miles), since it has been amazing. Ive put 50k on the car, and it drives smooth, the steering is tight, and it gets great gas mileage. I highly recommend it.

By seeblue - July 27 - 3:50 pmAlmost 11 years old and Ive only had oil changes, tire replacements, one battery replacement, and a tuneup at 110000 miles. Geez, I have the same muffler! This car is the boss and worth every penny.

Reliability - 2000 Toyota Camry Solara
By bruno libratore - July 6 - 11:40 pmThis has been the most hassle free vehicle I have ever purchased. All I have done is change the oil and 3 sets of tires. No other maintenance except coolant every 50k miles. If you can buy one, get it.

Nice Car - 2000 Toyota Camry Solara
By Richard Bernard - June 11 - 10:00 amThis has been a great car to Own. We have 4 months of winter, yet we use this as a winter car also. It handles great. We replaced our Audi 200 Quattro with this car. It does not have the great winter handling, since it does not have 4 wheel drive, but with snow tires on, it does very well with the traction control. The Boot that came with the car looks great, but is hard to put on, and has broken at the joint. Ive had to rivit it to use it.
