The base 1.8 model receives the body-colored door handles and upper instrument panel storage bin from the upper-level models. A trip computer and cruise control are now included on the 1.8 S, and all models receive new seat fabrics. There's also a new color for the gauge cluster housing on the SE-R, and a new shift knob for the SE-R Spec V.

This is the worst car I ever owned. - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By Mike - December 6 - 9:00 amThis is hands down the worst car I ever owned. At around 30 thousand kilometers, it started to leak water every time it rained a little bit harder, both passenger and drivers side door rubber/seals. At around 85 thousand kilometers a blown head gasket, astronomical cost to repair, close to $2000. 89 thousand kilometers, check engine light constantly on. I owned several economy class cars before this one and Sentra is hands down the most unreliable car I ever had. I will NEVER own a Nissan again.

05 sentra shifts strangely - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By islifereal - October 13 - 7:07 pmWe bought this used in 2010 for 6,600 with 83K miles. We found the console light doesnt work nor does the crusie control. It was too late by then to take back to dealership. That was our fault for not checking better. But then we changed the oil after only 40K miles and it was dirty! We havent found any real problems aside from it shifting jerky going from 1-2 gear and moreso when cold. It is a automatic

Get the warranty! - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By Just not worth it - September 10 - 1:56 pmThis was my first car and I purchased the car with 23,500 miles on it. At 30,000 I had a problem with the starter hesitating to turn over. I kept up the expensive oil changes and paid for every service that was suggested. At 45,780 the check engine light came on and at 45,970 the heat went. I was informed by Nissan today that the engine has to be replaced to to a bad head gasket that caused several other problems. Thankfully Nissan is covering it but Im seriously thinking of trading this junk in for another car. A blown head gasket at almost 46,000 miles!

Blown Head gasket Problem - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By jayfelix - June 25 - 7:44 amAfter 65,000 miles i got a blown head gasket and it seems that many people with the same model car had the same problem. No recall, no responsibility. Needless to say, this will be the last Nissan i will ever own. If you are reading this review, DONT BUY IT!! Unless its mine. After so much money i put into it, its running decently enough to sell it.

Nissan Sentra SE-R - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By Mike - May 25 - 2:03 pmI have had the Nissan Sentra SE-R for a while now and simply love the car! Its sporty appeal is a very good quality to me. Not to mention that Nissan has a reputation that only a few makers can match when it comes to Tuner/Race cars and their quality and knowledge in the field. I feel very confident about the future performance of this car and look forward to continued business with this automaker!!!

Disappointed - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By NoNissanForMe - February 17 - 10:10 pmI bought the Sentra 1.8 Special in April because I got married and needed a good gas mileage vehicle for my upcoming communte. So far, I am sorely disappointed with the car. I have had it in the shop now 5 times in 5 months. To me, I did not get my moneys worth at all. I traded a Ford for this vehicle and I am soon to be trading back into a Ford. The biggest problems that I have with the car are the lack of power (especially going uphill), the loose bumpers, and the loud exhaust, and the gripping brakes and roaring rear axle. I thought I was getting a good car, being my first import, but boy was I wrong. I am going back to my Ford ASAP!!!

Buy the SE version, you wont regret it - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By John - November 29 - 5:30 amOutstanding deal for the money. Buy the SE - dont even consider the S model (which is about $2K more expensive) averaging 37-42 MPG highway, and 36 in town, excellent for a 4 door fully loaded (all power options except transmission). The package on the SE has all the options for $500.00 - ordered separately is over $4,000.00 on S version

2k5 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By Nissan Driver 4 Lyfe - November 12 - 5:10 pmI purchased the car after going through hell with a 2k3 Mazda Protege5. Had the protege5 4 months & visited Mazda 9 times within that time period. Anyway I will have owned the SE-R for 3 weeks on Monday (7/4/05) and have put 2250 miles on it already. Nissan has addressed all issues with car since 2k2 and 2k5 SE-R is very refined and a great improvement over early models. QR25DE engine is very responsive, powerful, quiet yet very refined. Skyline seats are firm but comfortable. Exterior looks good with nice wheels and kit. Interior fit and finish is excellent and materials look and feel of high quality but collects way 2 much dust. Handles and rides sporty.
